When a Filipino got Isekai'd with a twist!

"Only I can summon those!"

Chapter 29: all by myself!

Kieth took a deep breath, the cool mountain air filling his lungs as he steadied himself against the rocky wall. The remnants of the battle still echoed in his mind, but he pushed those thoughts aside. Right now, he needed to focus on the present. While he waits for his system to go back online. He needs to go back to the kingdom of dwarves.

"Ok, now that I don't have a system to help me navigate my skills and summons, I have to do with what I have. With the system now under reboot, I can't summon any, so how about we get going now, Mochi?" he said, and Mochi just meowed at him.

Kieth glanced down at his bag, mentally calculating his options. The M16 was his most reliable weapon, but he had to be strategic about how he used his ammunition. The dragon's breath rounds could be a game-changer against any fire-resistant foes he might encounter in the mountains, but he needed to save them for a critical moment.

As Kieth pondered his next move, he gazed out at the rugged landscape before him. The mountains stretched out in every direction, their peaks shrouded in a misty veil. He knew that the kingdom of Dwarven was nestled deep within these mountains, but without his system to guide him, he'd have to rely on his own wits and navigation skills to find his way.

Mochi, sensing Kieth's unease, rubbed against his leg, meowing softly. Keith reached down to scratch the cat's ears, feeling a sense of comfort in the simple gesture.

"Alright, Mochi," he said, "let's get moving. We'll have to be careful, though. Without the system, we're flying blind. But let's work this out!"

System: Rebooting progress 12%

As they climbed the cliff, Kieth took in his surroundings, trying to get a sense of direction. He knew that the kingdom of Dwarven was nestled deep within the mountains, but without his system to guide him, he'd have to rely on his own navigation skills.

"Shit, we got really far, that damn demon. Thank God I still remember a few survival skills from middle school," he murmurs.

He looked up at the sky, trying to get a sense of the sun's position. It was mid-morning, and the moon was high in the sky. He used this to estimate the direction he needed to go.

"Alright, Mochi, I think we need to head east," he said, adjusting his course. "The kingdom should be somewhere in that direction, or maybe I need to climb a higher vantage point to look. Where are we?"

As Kieth and Mochi continued on their journey, the rugged terrain proved to be a challenge. The steep cliffs and rocky outcroppings forced them to navigate through narrow ledges and treacherous paths. Keith's eyes scanned the horizon, searching for any sign of the kingdom, but the misty veil that shrouded the mountains made it difficult to see more than a few hundred feet ahead.

Mochi, sensing Kieth's frustration, stayed close to his side, her eyes fixed on the path ahead. Kieth reached down to scratch her ears, feeling a sense of comfort in the simple gesture.

As they climbed higher, the air grew thinner, and Kieth's breathing became more labored. He paused to catch his breath, gazing out at the breathtaking view below. The mountains stretched out in every direction, their peaks rising like giants from the earth. As they finally reach the highest point in the mountains. He used his binoculars to look where they are.

Kieth steadied himself at the summit, the wind whipping around him as he pulled out his binoculars. He adjusted the focus, scanning the vast expanse of rugged terrain that lay before him. The mist still clung to the mountains, but as he peered through the lenses, he began to make out shapes in the distance.

"Come on, come on," he muttered under his breath, willing the view to clear. He spotted a glimmer of light reflecting off something far below—a sign of civilization. His heart raced as he focused in on the area. There it was! A cluster of stone structures nestled in a valley, surrounded by towering peaks. The kingdom of Dwarven!

Look, Mochi!"he exclaimed, pointing toward the distant settlement. "I think I see it! We're not far now!"

Mochi meowed in response, her tail flicking with excitement. Kieth felt a surge of hope. If he could reach the kingdom, he could find help, restock his supplies, and maybe even get his system back online. But first, he had to navigate the treacherous descent.

He carefully tucked the binoculars away and took a moment to plan his route. The path down was steep and rocky, and he needed to be cautious. One misstep could send him tumbling down the mountainside.

"Alright, Mochi, we need to take it slow," he said, glancing at the cat. "Stick close to me, and let's watch our footing."

With a determined nod, Kieth began his descent, carefully placing each foot on the uneven ground. The rocky terrain was unforgiving, and he could feel the weight of his gear pulling him down. Mochi followed closely, her small paws deftly navigating the rocks as she kept pace with him.

As they made their way down, Kieth's mind raced with thoughts of what awaited them in the kingdom of Dwarven. Would they be welcomed? Would he find allies to help him in his quest? The memories of the battle still lingered, but he pushed them aside, focusing on the task at hand.

Halfway down the slope, Kieth paused to catch his breath. He scanned the area, taking in the beauty of the mountains around him. The sun broke through the mist, casting a warm glow over the landscape. It was a stark contrast to the chaos he had just escaped.

Suddenly, a rustling sound broke the tranquility of the moment. Keith's instincts kicked in, and he turned sharply, scanning the area for any signs of danger. Mochi, too, perked up, her ears twitching as she focused on the noise.

"Stay close, Mochi," Kieth whispered, gripping the M16 tightly. He knew that the mountains could harbor all sorts of creatures, some friendly and others not so much. The last thing he needed was to encounter a hostile beast or a band of marauders while he was still recovering from the battle.

The rustling grew louder, and Kieth's heart raced. He crouched low, peering through the underbrush. Just as he was about to move forward, a small figure burst through the foliage—a mountain goat, its white fur gleaming in the sunlight. It bounded gracefully down the slope, oblivious to Kieth and Mochi.

Kieth let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. "Man, just a goat," he chuckled softly, shaking his head at his own jumpiness. "But we should still be careful."

With the goat now out of sight, Kieth took a moment to steady his nerves. The mountains were alive with sounds, and he needed to remain vigilant. He glanced at Mochi, who seemed unfazed by the encounter, her tail flicking playfully as she chased after a butterfly that had flitted past.

"Focus, Mochi, we can't afford to lose focus," he said, a smile creeping onto his face despite the tension. "We have a kingdom to reach. and learn if everyone is safe there and then head back to the capital."

Kieth took a deep breath, shaking off the remnants of anxiety that had gripped him moments before. The sight of the mountain goat had reminded him that not all encounters in the wild were dangerous. Still, he couldn't let his guard down completely. The mountains were unpredictable, and he had to be prepared for anything.

"Alright, let's keep moving," he said, gesturing for Mochi to follow him. The cat, now distracted by the butterfly, paused for a moment before scampering back to his side. Together, they resumed their descent, carefully navigating the rocky terrain.

"Man, I wish my system or phone was usable this time; maybe I can just call for their backup!" He murmurs as they walk inside a forest.

As Kieth and Mochi continued their descent through the forest, the trees loomed tall and dense around them, their branches swaying gently in the mountain breeze.

The sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground. Kieth felt a sense of calm wash over him, but he knew better than to let his guard down completely.

"Okay, Mochi," he said, glancing down at the cat, who was now sniffing curiously at a patch of wildflowers. "We need to stay alert. The last thing we want is to get ambushed by something unexpected."

Mochi looked up at him, her big eyes reflecting the moonlight, and let out a soft meow as if to reassure him. Kieth smiled, grateful for her presence. She had been a constant companion through thick and thin, and he knew he could rely on her instincts as much as his own.

As they moved deeper into the forest, Kieth's thoughts drifted back to the kingdom of Dwarven. He wondered what awaited them there. Would the dwarves be willing to help him? Would they have any information about the demon that had caused so much chaos? He felt a sense of urgency to reach the kingdom, but he also knew he had to be cautious.

The forest thickened around them, the air rich with the scent of pine and damp earth. Keith's senses heightened as he navigated the winding path, his eyes darting from shadow to shadow, ever watchful for any signs of danger. The rustling of leaves and the distant calls of birds filled the air, but he remained focused, determined to reach the kingdom of Dwarven.

"Keep your eyes peeled, Mochi," he whispered, his voice barely above a murmur. "We don't know what might be lurking in these woods."

Mochi, ever the vigilant companion, trotted alongside him, her ears perked up and alert. Kieth felt a surge of gratitude for her presence; she was more than just a pet—she was a partner in this perilous journey. As they are about to approach the gate, they can see demons guarding the gates, so he slowly turns his back and decides to go back to the emperor's capital because he realizes that the dwarven kingdom had fallen into the demon lord's hands. And he saw dwarves were held hostage by the demon army, and then Kieth's blood began to boil at the sight, so he decided to attack and save them. But when he was about to dash forward, Mochi stopped him. Meow," Mochi meowed to him. "What?! I can't sit here and do nothing; I'm one of the heroes...I need to do something." He whispered and gritted his teeth. Because he knows too that he can't do anything just by himself, without his cheat system.

"Yeah, I know. You're right, Mochi. I can't do anything at this moment. I'll just get us killed if I still insist on saving them without a proper plan and equipment. I'm sorry if I'm being reckless," he said as he brushed Mochi's purr. "Alright, let's head to the capital now and regroup with the other heroes.

Kieth took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the decision settle heavily on his shoulders. The sight of the dwarves held captive by the demon army ignited a fire within him, but he knew that charging in without a plan would only lead to disaster. He had to be smart about this.

"Alright, Mochi," he said, his voice steadying as he turned away from the grim scene. "We need to get back to the capital and gather our resources. We can't fight this battle alone."

Mochi meowed softly, as if to encourage him. Kieth felt a renewed sense of purpose as they retraced their steps through the forest. The path back was familiar, but the urgency of their mission weighed heavily on his mind. He couldn't shake the image of the dwarves in chains, their faces filled with despair. He had to do something, and soon.

As they navigated the winding trails, Kieth's thoughts raced. He needed allies, weapons, and a solid plan. The capital was bustling with heroes and warriors; surely, they could devise a strategy to rescue the dwarves. He recalled the tales of the dwarven craftsmanship—if they could get the dwarves back on their feet, they could forge weapons and armor that would turn the tide against the demon army.

"Once we reach the capital, we'll gather everyone," Kieth said, determination lacing his words. "We'll form a rescue party and come back for the dwarves. They deserve our help, and we can't let the demon lord keep them captive. I hope the others are alright (his escorts Sir Aleric, Keriel, Lariel, and Grath). Please, guys, be safe. I hope King Youm manages to go out too."

Meanwhile at the capital gate.

"Are you sure about this, Josh? We can go with you if you want; just say the word, and all of us will go with you, and together we'll find him (Keith, their friend, the 5th hero)," Caine asks him with a serious expression.

"Yeah, but thanks for the offer, Captain, but we can't split our forces even more, and besides, if we go as a group, it will attract attention, so you guys protect those kingdoms that we still can save. Kieth will be mad if we all go and save him. You know that blockhead." He replied to the other heroes.

"Just remember, use your largest attack. If you need help, that's our cue to come and save you," Vismond added, putting his hand on Josh's shoulder.

"Don't forget, we'll be going home together, so don't die on us! Chris chimes in.

"Yeah, I know, you guys too. See you in a week, guys," Josh said and turned his back to his friends and headed to the dwarven kingdom to save Kieth, but when he took his 4th step, someone spoke.

"You are not going alone, air hero! We will accompany you on this journey," King Youm said, his voice carrying a determination.

"Yeah, if he's your friend, so do we," Sir Aleric added.

"That's right, we all decided to follow Sir Kieth to the very end of this war, so we need to come with you, Sir Josh," Lariel chimes in.

"Hah! This world hasn't seen his full potential, so I can't let that strong of a sparring partner just die that easy." Grath shouted, his voice full of energy.

"So even if you don't take us, we are going to follow you, sir Hero!" Keriel added, and one more woman stepped forward, carrying a dignified persona.

"And I won't take a no from you, sir hero, because you'll need us to save him. Most importantly me because I have this, she said and showed her the half of Kieth's amulet (necklace)." Princess Lyra said as Josh looked at them, realizing Kieth's influence on them to risk their lives for him.

"Heh, alright. You better be fast in running." As he said that, all of them nodded. As they take their first step to save their friend.
