When a Filipino got Isekai'd with a twist!
" Only I can summon those!"
Chapter 32: mixture
Kieth felt a rush of exhilaration at the system notification, the familiar thrill of power coursing through him. He had been operating on his own skills and instincts, but now, with a portion of his stats returning, he could unleash a bit more chaos on the demons.
"Alright, listen up!" he said, turning to the dwarves, who were watching him with a mix of awe and confusion. "I have a plan, but it's going to get loud. We need to create a distraction big enough to cover our escape. I found some explosives in that crate, and I'm going to use them to blow a hole in the wall. It'll give us a way out and draw the demons away from our path."
"But how do we do it, sir hero?" Serena asks.
"This." He replied as he pointed at the crate of powder and fuel oils.
"Well, sir, I understand the fuel oil can create some sort of explosion, but that powder was only used in fertilizer.
Yes, but this isn't pointing at a small glass bottle; this is what we called in my world a nitroglycerin, and if I mix these fuckers, we'll have a strong explosive.
The dwarves exchanged glances, their expressions a mix of skepticism and intrigue. Keith could see the gears turning in their heads, weighing the risks against the potential reward.
Note: As his system reaches 20% of its rebooting, his intelligence is now boosted, and he can remember everything that he read and heard throughout his life, and in this world, summoners only excel in this. So they're handling such accounting research like scientists.
"So you'll just mix all of those, and it can make an explosive?" Serena asked again.
"Exactly," Keith replied, his confidence growing as he explained the process. "The fuel oil will act as a stabilizer, while the powder will provide the necessary reaction. It's all about the right proportions and timing. I've seen it done before, and I know we can make this work."
Serena's brow furrowed as she considered the implications. "But what if it goes wrong? We could end up blowing ourselves up instead of the wall."
Keith nodded, acknowledging her concern. "I get it. It's risky, but we don't have many options. If we stay here, the demons will find us sooner or later. This is our best shot at creating a diversion and getting out of here."
One of the dwarves, a burly fellow with a thick beard named Thrain, stepped forward. "I've worked with lamps, and I read some ancient books that say that it is possible to create such a thing, but not like this. If you're sure about your plan, I can help you mix them safely. We'll need to be careful, though."
Keith felt a surge of relief wash over him at Thrain's willingness to help. The dwarves were known for their craftsmanship and knowledge of materials, and having Thrain on board could make all the difference.
"Great! We'll need to work quickly," Keith said, his mind racing with the logistics. "First, we need to gather everything we can from that crate. We'll need a sturdy container to mix the ingredients in, something that can withstand the pressure. And we'll need a fuse—something that can give us enough time to get clear before it goes off."
Thrain nodded, his eyes gleaming with determination. "I can find a sturdy barrel in the workshop nearby. It should hold the mixture well. As for the fuse, I might have some old magic scrolls we store there that we can use. They'll give us a good delay."
"What kind of magic scrolls?" Kieth asked (note: magic scrolls are pieces of paper that contain a combination of spell circles that can hold one use only magic, and it depends on the level of the paper for the magic in-store to be successfully active. If the magic is high, you'll need a higher tier of paper, like world tree paper).
"Well, we have almost anything, so we'll pick as much as we can."
Serena looked between the two of them, her apprehension still evident. "And what if the demons hear us? We need to be quiet about this."
Keith waved a hand dismissively. "We'll be quick. The noise of the explosion will cover our escape. We just need to make sure we're out of sight when it happens."
As Thrain hurried off to gather the materials, Keith turned to Serena. "You're going to help me with the mixing, right? I'll need someone to keep an eye on the proportions while I handle the timing. And you guys guard the entrance, ok?"
Serena nodded, her expression shifting from doubt to determination. "Alright, I'll do my best. Just tell me what to do."
Keith quickly outlined the plan. "First, we need to carefully measure out the fuel oil and the powder. We want just the right amount—too little, and it won't work; too much, and we risk a premature explosion. I'll handle the timing with the fuse, but I need you to keep an eye on the measurements."
As they moved to the crate, Keith felt the adrenaline pumping through his veins. The dwarves were already gathering tools and materials, their movements efficient and purposeful. Thrain returned with three sturdy barrels, their wooden surfaces worn but solid. He set it down with a thud, and the sound echoed in the dimly lit room.
"Here it is," Thrain said, wiping his brow. "Now, let's get to work."
Keith and Serena began measuring the ingredients, carefully pouring the fuel oil into the barrel. Keith could feel the weight of the moment pressing down on him. This was a gamble, but it was one they had to take. As they worked, he glanced at the entrance, half-expecting to see the demons charging in at any moment.
"How much of the powder do you think we should use?" Serena asked, her brow furrowed in concentration.
"Let's start with a quarter of what's in the crate," Keith suggested. "We can always add more if we need to, but I want to be cautious."
Serena nodded and began measuring, her hands steady despite the tension in the air. Keith watched her for a moment, impressed by her focus. She was more capable than she realized, and he was grateful to have her by his side.
through the workshop, muttering to himself about the scrolls. Keith could hear the faint rustle of parchment and the clinking of metal as the dwarf searched for the right materials.
"Got it!" Thrain called out, emerging from the shadows with a handful of scrolls. "These should do the trick. They're old, but they'll give us a good delay."
Keith took the scrolls, examining them closely. "Perfect. We'll use one of the lower-tier ones for this. It'll give us enough time to get clear without risking a backfire."
With the mixture complete, Keith carefully placed the scroll into the barrel, ensuring it was secure. "Alright, now for the timing. We'll need to light the fuse and get out of here fast."
Serena looked at him, her eyes wide. "Are you sure we'll have enough time?"
Keith nodded, trying to project confidence despite the knot of anxiety in his stomach. "We will. The scrolls are designed to give us a good delay, and I'll make sure to light it just before we leave. We'll have a few moments to get clear."
Thrain stepped forward, his brow furrowed in concentration. "We should also consider a secondary escape route, just in case. If the demons are closer than we expect, we might need to change our plans on the fly."
"Good thinking," Keith replied, appreciating Thrain's foresight. "Let's keep an eye on the back entrance as well. If we hear anything, we can make a run for it."
As they finished preparing the explosive, Keith felt the weight of responsibility settle on his shoulders. He was leading these dwarves into a dangerous situation, and he needed to ensure they all made it out alive.
"Alright, you guys ready? Kieth asks.
"Yes sir, the other two barrels are in the right place just like you said." One of the knights spoke.
"Good, you smoke team, how are you guys doing?" he asks Serene using a telepathy link that one of the captives used on them.
"Yes, sir hero. We've already put the red thingy you said we should put here," Serena replied, holding a torch.
"Alright, light them up!" Keith commanded her as she threw the torch to the mountain of posphorus.
The torch sailed through the air, landing perfectly atop the pile of phosphorus. A moment later, a bright flash erupted, followed by a crackling roar as the flames ignited. The fire quickly spread, consuming the phosphorus and sending a plume of smoke spiraling upward.
Keith felt the heat on his face as he turned to the dwarves. "Now! Everyone, move to the back entrance!"
The dwarves sprang into action, their earlier skepticism replaced by a fierce determination. Thrain led the way, his sturdy frame pushing through the narrow passage, while Keith and Serena followed closely behind. The sound of the fire crackling behind them was a constant reminder of the chaos they were leaving behind.
As they reached the back entrance, Keith glanced over his shoulder. The flames were growing, licking at the walls and illuminating the dark workshop with an eerie glow. He could hear the distant sounds of demons stirring, their guttural growls echoing through the corridors.
But few demons are in their way, so Kieth shouted, "Detonate them!" He commanded the knight that was holding the remote scroll. As the knight poured his mana into the scroll, two explosions erupted. As he pulls his M16 and aims at the five demons that are charging at them, he says, Ok, guys, throw the Molotov. As the dwarven captives threw it to the charging demons, few of them got hit.
The Molotov cocktails shattered against the demons, igniting them in a fiery blaze. The acrid smell of burning flesh filled the air, mingling with the smoke from the workshop. Keith felt a surge of adrenaline as he squeezed the trigger of his M16, the weapon roaring to life in his hands. Bullets tore through the air, striking the remaining demons with deadly precision.
"Keep moving!" he shouted, urging the dwarves forward. "We need to get out of here before more show up!"
Serena was right beside him, her face set in determination as she hurled another Molotov. The glass bottle exploded against a demon, sending it sprawling to the ground in a fiery heap. The remaining demons hesitated, momentarily distracted by the chaos, giving the group precious seconds to escape.
Thrain led the way, his sturdy frame pushing through the narrow passage. Keith and Serena followed closely, the sounds of battle echoing behind them. The dwarves were surprisingly agile, their years of craftsmanship giving them a natural dexterity that helped them navigate the tight spaces.
As they reached the end of the corridor, Keith could see the faint light of the outside world. "Almost there!" he urged, his heart racing. "Just a little further!"
Suddenly, a loud crash echoed behind them. One of the demons had broken through the flames, its eyes burning with rage. It charged toward them, its claws outstretched.
"Cover me!" Keith shouted, pivoting to face the oncoming threat. He fired off a few rounds, but the demon was fast, dodging to the side and closing the distance.
Serena reacted instinctively, grabbing a nearby tool—a heavy hammer—and swinging it with all her might. The hammer connected with the demon's skull, sending it reeling back with a howl of pain. Keith seized the opportunity, firing another round that struck true, dropping the creature to the ground. "Alright, hey old man, put that last barrel here," he ordered as Thrain put down the explosive barrel.
"What's next, sir hero?" Thrain asked.
"What's your order, sir hero?" Serena added.
"Well, run like hell!"
But all of a sudden, one demon emerged from the flames and dashed forward and attacked Kieth, but Serene managed to shield him using her body.Live, sir hero, she muttered as her body got flung into the walls.
"Fuck! Thrain, Max! Get the people out of here!" As he shouted, he aimed his M16 at the newly arrived demon.
The demon snarled, its eyes glinting with malice as it lunged at Keith, but he was ready. He squeezed the trigger, the gun barking in his hands as bullets tore through the air. The first shot struck the demon in the shoulder, causing it to stagger back, but it quickly regained its footing, its rage only intensifying.
"Serena!" Keith shouted, panic surging through him as he saw her crumpled against the wall, struggling to get back on her feet. "Get up! We need to move!"
Thrain and Max, the other knight, were already ushering the dwarven captives toward the exit, their faces set with grim determination. "Come on, we can't leave her!" Max shouted back, glancing at Keith.
"She'll be fine! Just go!" Keith barked, his voice rising above the chaos. He couldn't afford to lose anyone else. He had to focus on the immediate threat.
The demon charged again, its claws outstretched, and Keith fired off another round, this time hitting it square in the chest. The creature let out a guttural roar, but it kept coming, fueled by rage and pain. Keith could see the blood oozing from its wounds, but it was still relentless. And his M16 got flung away. "Fuck!" And the demon kicked him, sending him rolling on the ground.
Keith scrambled to his feet, adrenaline coursing through his veins as he faced the demon, now towering over him. The creature's eyes glinted with malice, and its jagged teeth were bared in a snarl. He could feel the heat radiating from its body, the stench of sulfur filling the air.
"Get away from him!" Serena's voice rang out, fierce and determined. She had managed to push herself off the wall, her face pale but resolute. She grabbed a nearby metal rod, her grip tight as she prepared to defend Keith.
"Serena, no!" Keith shouted, but it was too late. She charged at the demon, swinging the rod with all her might. The impact connected with the demon's side, causing it to stagger, but it quickly turned its attention back to Keith, its rage undeterred.
"Fuck, I think two of my ribs are broken." He said as he struggled to push himself up and suddenly mochi appears and change her size to help her master to stand up. While the m16 is in her mouth."jeez thanks, don't know you can change you size. " As he grab his gun at mochi's mouth and patted her."meow?" Mochi meow at him and he just give her a smile." I'll be fine don't worry." As he said that he quickly run towards the demon that is about to hit serene with it's claw and double kick him on the face.
The demon reeled back from the unexpected blow, its snarling face twisting in confusion and pain. Keith felt a surge of adrenaline as he landed on his feet, ready to capitalize on the moment. He could see Serena struggling to regain her footing, her determination shining through the pain etched on her face.
"Maxx! Grab Serena and run! Mochi and I will buy you some time!" Keith shouted, positioning himself between Serena and the demon. He raised his M16, the weapon feeling like an extension of his own will. The demon, now enraged, lunged again, its claws slashing through the air.
Keith fired off a series of shots, each bullet finding its mark. The demon howled in agony, but it was still coming, its relentless fury driving it forward. He could see the blood splattering against the walls, but the creature was fueled by something darker, something that made it impervious to pain.
"Max! Now!" Keith shouted again, his voice hoarse with urgency. He could see Max hesitating, torn between helping and following orders. "Get her out of here! We can't hold them off forever!"
With a final glance back, Max grabbed Serena, who was still trying to shake off the effects of the demon's attack. "Come on, we need to go!" he urged, pulling her toward the exit.
Keith felt a pang of guilt as he watched them leave, but he knew it was the right choice. He had to protect them, even if it meant facing the demon alone. He turned back to the creature, which was now shaking off the effects of his gunfire, its eyes locked onto him with a predatory intensity.
"Come on, you ugly bastard," Keith taunted, trying to buy time. "Is that all you've got?" As he said that his m16 click a familiar sound of empty magazine." Fuck!" As he said that the demon slashes him but he quickly tilted his head missing an inch but his upper shoulder got hit as the demon is about to attack again mochi uses her skill: primal roar" making the demon struggle to it's feet. Kieth grab the opportunity and change his magazine into his dragon's breath ammo." Tsk I was saving this for the big shots, but whatever!"
With a swift motion, Keith loaded the dragon's breath round into his M16, feeling the weight of the moment settle heavily on his shoulders. The air crackled with tension as he aimed at the demon, its snarling face twisted in rage and confusion. The primal roar from Mochi had given him a brief window, and he knew he had to make this shot count.
"Alright, you son of a bitch," he muttered under his breath, steadying his aim. The demon was still reeling from the shock of Mochi's attack, its movements sluggish as it tried to regain its footing. Keith could see the flames flickering in the background, the chaos of the workshop still raging behind him.
He squeezed the trigger, and the M16 roared to life once more. The dragon's breath round erupted from the barrel, a fiery projectile that soared through the air with deadly precision. The moment it struck the demon, a brilliant explosion of flames engulfed the creature, illuminating the dark corridor with a blinding light.
The demon let out a horrific scream, its body writhing in agony as the fire consumed it. Keith felt the heat wash over him, but he stood his ground, watching as the demon's form twisted and contorted before finally collapsing to the ground in a smoldering heap. But the demon is relentless and continue to charge towards him. And manage to hit him with it's claw on his leg.
Keith stumbled back, pain shooting through his leg as the demon's claws raked across his flesh. He gritted his teeth, forcing himself to stay upright. The world around him blurred for a moment, but he couldn't afford to lose focus. The demon was still standing, its body charred but its rage undiminished. And charge once again. And he manage to duck but after he duck down the demon notice it and manage to grab him and threw him to the wall.
Keith hit the wall hard, the impact jarring his bones and sending a wave of pain through his body. He gasped for breath, struggling to regain his composure as the demon loomed over him, its eyes burning with fury. The creature was relentless, and Keith could feel the heat radiating from its charred skin, a stark reminder of the fire he had unleashed moments before.
"Get up, get up!" he muttered to himself, forcing his limbs to move. He could hear the distant sounds of chaos behind him—the dwarves escaping, the crackling flames, and the guttural roars of more demons. He had to hold on, just a little longer. As he looked, the demon Mochi jumped towards it and attacked it, but Mochi just got flung away. And when he turned his eyes to the demon, he saw the explosive barrel behind him, so he smiled.
"Man, when all hopes are gone. I still manage to find a way out. Well thats make me a cockroach right josh?" As he said that the demon turn it's head to him and mochi kicked the m16 towards him and Kieth quickly grab and aim at the barrel. "See you in hell you mother fucker!" He said to the demon and squeeze the trigger and a loud bang reverberated next a large explosion erupted.
