Chapter 3 - Colorful Shops

Doyun glanced over at Chandra, stowing away his mirror with a sigh. "He wouldn't believe me anyways. I mean, he's not even convinced this world is magical."

Chandra let out a soft laugh, a strange glimmer of amusement in her eyes. "Yejun, are you serious?"

Yejun just stared at her, blinking in disbelief. Why was she laughing? And why should he believe in any of this? Magic? He didn't even know if he was dreaming or if he had lost his mind.

Chandra sighed dramatically. "Whatever. You'll find out soon enough." She turned on her heel and started walking off. "What are you waiting for? Follow me."

Yejun wasn't sure where the hell he was going, but honestly, it couldn't get worse. He didn't even know where he was in the first place.

Just as he thought he was about to get some clarity, Doyun, who had been standing off to the side, caught up with them. "Hey! Why'd you leave me there?"

A thick silence hung in the air, no one bothering to answer. Yejun couldn't help but smirk at the awkwardness.

The three of them made their way through a maze of winding streets, passing shop after shop. Yejun's eyes were everywhere, taking in the sights. He didn't know where he was, but this place was... cool. The colors, the items, the strange, mystical vibe—it was unlike anything he'd ever seen. He still didn't believe in magic or whatever Chandra and Doyun were on about, but whatever. Who cared what they were calling it? This place was something else.

Before he even realized it, a grin had crept onto Yejun's face. The more he looked around, the more fascinated he became by the atmosphere, the people, and everything in between.

He darted ahead and wrapped an arm around Doyun. "This place is awesome!"

Doyun shot him a look, a dry smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "What did I tell you?"

Chandra, who had been walking ahead of them, overheard the conversation and decided to join in. "Oh, you haven't seen everything yet, Yejun."

They walked in silence for a bit longer until Chandra stopped in front of a ten-story building. It was vintage-looking, with an almost magical aura surrounding it. The architecture looked straight out of some ancient fantasy world.

Chandra turned to face them, her expression proud. "This is my hotel. Some people also live here, but welcome."

Before Yejun could even ask how that made sense, the doors swung open on their own.

"Woah. How'd that happen?" Yejun muttered, wide-eyed.

Chandra's smile widened, smug. "Magic."

Yejun ignored the comment, still not buying into the whole 'magic' thing. He couldn't even begin to fathom what he was dealing with, but the world around him sure was something else.

As they entered, it didn't take long for all eyes to turn on them. Just like outside, the whispers and gossip started again, but now, there were more curious stares.

Yejun's eyes quickly scanned the room. He noticed the people were all dressed strangely—some in dark robes, others in brown leather jackets. The styles were outdated, and the whole place gave off a weird vibe.

Chandra grabbed both Yejun and Doyun's arms, pulling them through the crowd. "Follow me," she said, her voice low. "We can't have people seeing you."

They ran up three flights of stairs before entering a room that looked like an office. Chandra took a seat at the window, her posture exuding authority.

Yejun's mind was still reeling from everything, and his curiosity got the better of him. "Why can't we have people seeing us?"

Chandra looked at him for a moment, her gaze hardening. "It's not like we can't be seen. It's just... people will go crazy if they know who you are."

Yejun's confusion only deepened, but before he could ask again, Chandra's eyes locked on him, as if she was trying to decide how much to say.

"Listen, Yejun," she began, her tone suddenly serious. "I know you don't believe in this magic stuff, but it's real. Everything you've seen here... it's real."

Yejun opened his mouth to say something, but Doyun shot him a look that told him to keep quiet.

Chandra continued, "I know this is a lot to take in, but you have to understand—you're a part of this world. You belong here." She paused, letting that sink in. "You know how I mentioned looking up to your father earlier?"

Yejun nodded, unsure of where this was going.

"Well, your father was one of the most powerful dark wizards in this world. Everyone knew him. But one day, he was murdered." Chandra's eyes flickered away, as if she didn't want to finish that thought. "We don't know exactly who did it, but we do know it was someone who doesn't have the best intentions."

Yejun's mind went blank, his body frozen as the words hit him like a brick wall. "What?" His voice was barely a whisper, but the weight of it was crushing.

Chandra glanced at Doyun, who was now fiddling with his phone, clearly unfazed by the conversation.

"Yejun," she continued, "the person who killed your father... they're coming after you. And not just you. Doyun's in danger too."

The words hung in the air like a heavy fog. Yejun's head spun as he processed everything, his pulse racing. The idea that someone was after him? That was too much.

But what was worse? Doyun didn't look surprised. In fact, he looked like he knew exactly what Chandra was talking about.

Yejun wasn't sure if he wanted to scream or pass out. "What the fuck is going on?"

Doyun just gave him a glance, almost bored, like he'd been through this before. "its not going to get better, its the magic world"
