On the Blue Star Continent, in the Great Qin Empire, Wanjiang Province, at Yangcheng No. 1 Middle School, a student named Su Xiuyu sat in his classroom in Grade 3 (1) Class. He was of average height and build, a little on the thin side, with delicate features and a somewhat dull expression.
Su Xiuyu had been in this world for over ten years. As a transmigrator from another world, he often felt like he wasn't living up to that title.
He wasn't handsome enough to leave people in awe—just a bit above average. He wasn't a plagiarist either. Sure, he remembered many anime, movies, and fairy tales from his past life, but relying on his increasingly fuzzy memory alone wasn't enough to copy them outright.
Unlike many protagonists in novels, Su Xiuyu wasn't an orphan with dead parents and a conveniently inherited house and sister. Instead, he had a simple, ordinary family—a loving mother and father, no sister, no siblings at all. His past-life memories had surfaced gradually as he grew up, making him sometimes doubt if he had actually reincarnated or was just suffering from schizophrenia.
If not for the strange, natural wormholes that appeared on Blue Star two years ago, Su Xiuyu might have completely forgotten about his past life. After all, his previous world had been a peaceful and stable place called Earth.
But ever since these wormholes were discovered by various nations, the world's situation had changed drastically. Some who ventured inside and returned alive displayed extraordinary abilities, proving that these wormholes led to different worlds.
Su Xiuyu sighed, knowing his peaceful days were over. Governments worldwide launched large-scale explorations, treating these other worlds as new frontiers. The Milijian Empire (clearly inspired by America) had even attempted large-scale colonization—only to be beaten back miserably.
It turned out that Blue Star's technology was inferior to Earth's. Worse still, once inside these other worlds, modern weapons like guns and explosives became nearly useless, their power significantly weakened, as if suppressed by the will of those worlds. On top of that, the inhabitants of these other worlds weren't easy to deal with either. Many expeditions ended in disaster.
But what did all of this have to do with Su Xiuyu?
He was just an average high school student—average in martial arts, average in academics, average in everything. He was too young for any of this to concern him.
Everything had been fine until now. But as a third-year student, he was at a crossroads—choosing between a Martial Arts Academy and a Cultural Academy. The problem? Su Xiuyu had no special talent for either. He wasn't particularly good at academics, and his martial arts skills were nothing to brag about.
For a transmigrator, he was downright embarrassing.
"Su Xiuyu, don't slack off. Come train with me after class," said Wei Haoyu, pulling him toward the training grounds.
Wei Haoyu, a close friend of Su Xiuyu, was an energetic and charismatic guy. Unlike Su Xiuyu, he had a higher family background and wasn't too worried about graduation. Their names both contained the character for "Yu" (universe), which they took as a sign of fate.
Su Xiuyu didn't argue and followed him outside.
Martial arts were highly developed on Blue Star, and the martial spirit was strong. Su Xiuyu did enjoy martial arts—but unfortunately, he lacked talent. He had traveled through time and space, yet he didn't receive some overpowered, one-in-a-million genius ability. That didn't seem fair.
As a group of students practiced martial arts on the field, a sudden scream broke the air.
A massive wormhole materialized above the playground, exuding an eerie aura, before vanishing as quickly as it appeared.
"Reincarnation System activated."
A voice whispered in Su Xiuyu's mind.
He blinked, startled.
"Wei Haoyu, what did you just say? Speak louder. I didn't catch that."
"What are you talking about? I didn't say anything," Wei Haoyu replied, too focused on the wormhole to notice Su Xiuyu's reaction.
"Hey, Su Xiuyu, I got a photo of it! Damn, that was terrifying. This is the first time I've seen a wormhole in real life!"
But Su Xiuyu wasn't paying attention. His eyes were locked on something invisible to others—a translucent panel floating in his vision.
> Reincarnation System successfully bound.
Character: Su Xiuyu
Race: Human
Combat Strength: 5
(This is a simplified representation, not a fully digitized stat panel.)
Discovered Worlds: 1
(Exploration Recommended.)
Su Xiuyu's mind raced.
So I really did get a system.
It's not the time travel that's scary—it's traveling without a system that's terrifying.
Now that he had one, his top priority was figuring out how to use it.
Even if the school beauty invited him to a motel, nothing would stop him from exploring this system. Women only slow down my sword-drawing speed! …Maybe.
News of the wormhole spread rapidly. The school evacuated students, and authorities soon arrived. It wouldn't be long before armed police sealed off the area.
Dragged along by Wei Haoyu, Su Xiuyu struggled to process everything. Today had been insane.
But with a cheat system at his fingertips, his future had just changed forever.
---
Su Xiuyu returned home in a daze. After dinner, he lay down on his bed without greeting his parents. His mind was preoccupied with the system. Unfortunately, it wasn't an intelligent system, meaning there was no way to interact with it directly.
However, after thinking about it, he felt that it was actually better this way. A system that's too smart is always annoying.
But damn, my system is too stupid.
He had been tinkering with it for ages, yet there was no response. Aside from the data panel that had a slightly technological feel, there was nothing else—no movement, no changes, nothing useful. He had no idea how to use it.
"Damn it! After all this time, it's still just a useless system. Do I seriously have to figure everything out on my own? Everyone's so busy, can't you at least give me some hints? I freaking transmigrated—"
The moment the word "transmigrated" left his lips, the system suddenly reacted.
> Keyword 'transmigrated' detected. Executing transmigration protocol...
Optimizing plan... Retrieving nearest space-time wormhole...
Retrieving... Retrieving... Transmigration initiated...
"Oh, hell no—"
Before Su Xiuyu could finish his sentence, his vision blurred, and he was instantly teleported away.
At that moment, his mother opened the door and glanced inside. The quilt on his bed was still bulging, making her sigh in relief. Good, he's finally growing up.
At least he wasn't gay.
She was somewhat reassured, thinking that her son had finally embraced the youthful spirit of a teenage boy. Not realizing that Su Xiuyu wasn't actually in bed, she calmly turned off the lights and closed the door.
---
With a splash, Su Xiuyu landed in a shallow river. The water wasn't deep, and the lush trees on both sides rustled in the wind.
"Damn it, I wasn't even finished complaining when the system actually transported me? Are you kidding me? I wasn't ready yet!"
Cursing under his breath, Su Xiuyu climbed to his feet, brushing the dirt off his clothes. He glanced around warily, planning to run at the first sign of danger.
After walking upstream for a while, he suddenly noticed two children standing on opposite sides of the river, facing each other.
"Madara, I'm here."
"I know, Hashirama. We need to be more careful next time. Our families might have noticed us."
"What, are you scared?" Hashirama smirked. "Didn't we swear to change this world? How can we back down just because of our families' pressure?"
"Tch, big words, Hashirama." Madara scoffed. "But I can already make stones float across the river now."
Hashirama grinned. "Yeah? Well, I can piss all the way to the other side. Can you?"
"You idiot!" Madara snapped. "What the hell are you bragging about? Do you think I envy you? Hah! Dream on!"
Su Xiuyu stood frozen on the spot.
…Did I hear that right?
These two legendary figures were seriously competing over who could piss farther?
Madara fumed silently. Damn it! I actually lost to him again. Hashirama must have been practicing in secret! I have to train harder. An Uchiha man never loses! Even in pissing contests!
Su Xiuyu couldn't take it anymore.
"Uh… excuse me for interrupting."
The two boys snapped their heads toward him.
Su Xiuyu had already guessed where he was the moment he overheard their conversation. That proud, arrogant kid and that carefree idiot—there was no mistake.
This was the Warring States Period of the Naruto world.
The two future gods of the ninja world were still just kids. Everything was just beginning. With Hashirama around, things were at least somewhat safer… right?
"Who are you?" Madara's eyes narrowed. "Were you eavesdropping on us?"
Before Su Xiuyu could answer, Madara whipped out a shuriken and hurled it at him.
"Madara, wait!" Hashirama instantly countered with a shuriken of his own. The two projectiles clashed midair with a crisp clang, sending sparks flying.
Su Xiuyu let out a breath of relief.
Holy shit. If Hashirama hadn't stepped in, I'd be dead already.
Just then, the system finally decided to be useful.
> System detected key figures of destiny: Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha.
Recommended Task: Collect their blood.
Failure Penalty: None.
Su Xiuyu nearly lost his mind.
Collect their blood?!
Was this system trying to get him killed?!
Sure, they were still kids, but they had already been fighting on battlefields. By this point, they'd probably killed more people than the entire student body of his school.
Su Xiuyu took a deep breath. Even if it was dangerous, as long as Hashirama was here, I should be fine… right?
After all, Hashirama was known for being way too nice for his own good.
If worse came to worst, Su Xiuyu would just have to rely on the system to get him the hell out of here.
Madara and Hashirama were still eyeing him warily, waiting for an explanation.
Scrambling for something to say, Su Xiuyu blurted out, "I just overheard your little contest and got curious."
Madara's face instantly turned red.
Shit. This random guy heard everything. This is so embarrassing.
Damn it, Hashirama! This is all your fault!
Meanwhile, Su Xiuyu stared at Madara with a mix of awe and disbelief.
Did… did his self-esteem actually just take a hit from a pissing contest?
Was he seriously going to kill me over this?
Forget it. If I'm going to die, I might as well go out swinging.
Su Xiuyu took a deep breath, squared his shoulders, and boldly declared:
"Actually, I heard you two talking about who can pee farther, and honestly? I don't think either of you can beat me. So why don't we settle this properly and have a competition right now?"
The moment the words left his mouth, Su Xiuyu regretted his entire existence.
What the hell am I saying?!
Just as he was about to slap himself, he noticed something shocking—
Madara's eyes lit up with determination.
At that moment, Su Xiuyu knew…
His life was temporarily spared.
