Several months passed in a flash. Su Xiuyu practiced the ninjutsu he had learned daily, concentrating on refining his chakra. Soon, what little chakra he originally had swelled like a balloon. With the power of Asura and Indra in his blood, if all roads led to Rome for others, then Su Xiuyu was born in Rome. The starting point of his growth was a place most people couldn't even dream of reaching.
Lately, space-time wormholes had been appearing more frequently. Just after school today, the air defense alarm blared across the city. In the Blue Star Continent, such alarms only sounded during the most urgent moments.
Realizing the danger, Su Xiuyu quickly called out to his classmates, "Wei Haoyu, Lei Gang, Cheng Yaojia, Zhang Lili—hurry up and follow me! Don't get separated!"
Su Xiuyu had become a well-known figure in his class. The moment he shouted, the students instinctively gathered around him. In moments of crisis, people always gravitate toward the strong—it was the law of nature.
Suddenly, terrified screams erupted, making the situation even more chaotic. Su Xiuyu turned and saw several enormous lizards climbing over the school wall, rushing straight into the courtyard.
"Monsters! There are monsters!"
"Run!"
Panic spread like wildfire. Some students bolted in fear, while others stood frozen in shock. The entire school descended into chaos.
Su Xiuyu observed the giant lizards and immediately realized they weren't creatures native to the Blue Star Continent. This was the first time in his life he had seen lizards this massive. Clearly, the space-time wormholes were the cause.
"Su Xiuyu, hurry up! You're not thinking of fighting them, are you?" Wei Haoyu grabbed his arm, trying to pull him away. "Don't be stubborn—let's run!"
Su Xiuyu sighed. "Sorry, Wei Haoyu. I've kept it a secret from you for a long time, but the truth is... I'm insanely strong now."
As soon as he finished speaking, Su Xiuyu vanished from his spot.
"Earth Release: Yellow Spring Swamp!"
A vast swamp formed beneath the giant lizards, trapping them in the sinking mud. Their crawling speed dropped significantly as they struggled to move.
A split second later, Su Xiuyu threw a handful of shuriken. The shuriken ricocheted off each other in midair, flying at impossible angles before piercing directly into the lizards' eyes.
It was the signature technique of the Uchiha clan—Uchiha Shuriken Throwing.
"Fire Release: Impatiens Claw Fire!"
Su Xiuyu exhaled a massive fireball, which split into multiple flame clusters mid-flight, resembling a blooming impatiens flower. The fiery petals struck the giant lizards, engulfing them in flames.
The lizards, trapped in the swamp, writhed and howled in agony as the fire consumed them.
Behind him, the students stood in stunned silence.
They had seen it with their own eyes—Su Xiuyu had breathed fire.
He had turned a solid road into a swamp.
They had always known he was strong, but this... This wasn't human.
Watching the lizards wailing and twitching in the flames, everyone felt incredibly fortunate that they had followed Su Xiuyu. If they hadn't, today might have ended in tragedy.
As the situation on campus gradually calmed down, police sirens blared in the distance. The armed forces and medical personnel soon arrived.
One remaining lizard had managed to rampage through a part of the campus before it was finally taken down by a squad of heavily armed officers. The monster's scales had ridiculous defensive power. Handguns were practically useless against it—only rifles could cause any real damage. Even then, over a dozen rifles emptied their magazines before the beast was half-dead.
Luckily, because Su Xiuyu had already eliminated most of the creatures, only one remained, which the armed police quickly subdued. This prevented mass casualties at the school.
Even so, two officers carrying riot shields had been sent flying by the crazed lizard's attacks, suffering broken ribs in the process.
Despite their relief at surviving the disaster, the lingering fear remained. Luck wouldn't always be on their side.
However, Su Xiuyu remained calm.
As long as he was strong enough, even a giant lizard was nothing more than a cockroach.
Once the situation was under control, the students were dismissed, and Su Xiuyu was asked to help maintain order. Though he didn't particularly care, he did a quick sweep of the area to ensure no other threats remained.
Just as he was about to head home, he was stopped by the school director and the principal. They were accompanied by a high-ranking official—the director of the Yangcheng Special Service Bureau.
Su Xiuyu agreed to a brief meeting and was led into the principal's office, where he explained the events of the attack.
The director, Lei Jiangang, was a burly man with a powerful presence.
"I want to personally thank you, Su Xiuyu," Lei Jiangang said sincerely. "If not for you, today could've ended in disaster."
"You're exaggerating," Su Xiuyu replied with a casual wave of his hand. "I just happened to be here."
For him, two ninjutsu and a handful of shuriken were nothing.
Lei Jiangang gave a bitter smile. "I wish it were that simple. This isn't just happening here—this is a nationwide crisis. We were just lucky that you were able to handle most of the monsters. Other cities weren't so fortunate."
The atmosphere grew heavier.
"In fact," Lei Jiangang continued, "I just got word before coming here—the situation overseas is even worse. In some places, the damage is catastrophic.
"For example, in the Yellowstone Forest, a school bus was hit by an invading monster. Every single student inside was killed."
A somber silence filled the room.
"This time, we were fortunate," Lei Jiangang sighed. "On behalf of Yangcheng, I thank you." He then chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. "Call me Uncle Lei. Actually, I'm Lei Gang's father—I've heard a lot about you from him."
Su Xiuyu blinked in surprise.
No wonder this guy seemed familiar.
He and Lei Gang looked exactly the same.
---
"Uncle Lei, has the situation really gotten this bad?" Su Xiuyu asked, frowning. At first, he thought only a few creatures had slipped through a nearby space-time wormhole by accident. But now, it was clear that things weren't that simple.
Lei Jiangang sighed. "For now, the situation is still under control, but it's hard to predict what'll happen next. If things keep escalating, we'll be in serious trouble. If Blue Star really turns into a battlefield, there won't be anywhere to run—we'll have to face it head-on. That said, Yangcheng has a solid military presence, and with our Special Service Bureau, we're holding things down for now."
Lei Jiangang explained the situation to Su Xiuyu, treating him as an equal rather than just his son's classmate. He also reminded him to stay alert and keep an eye on the ongoing developments. Su Xiuyu nodded. He had a feeling things were about to get a lot more interesting.
After saying goodbye to the school, he headed home.
His parents had been on edge the whole day. When they saw him walk through the door, safe and sound, their anxiety turned into a mix of relief and lingering fear. The news had just reported the attack on Yangcheng No. 1 Middle School, and they had been terrified.
They did their best to calm each other down, and Su Xiuyu reassured them that he was fine.

Looking at his system interface, Su Xiuyu couldn't help but complain. Why is this display so incomplete?
It didn't even list the Three Basic Jutsu—Substitution, Transformation, and Clone Techniques. What, does the system think low-level jutsu are beneath me?
And what about Kakashi? Did the system also look down on him for his low chakra reserves?
Of course, thinking about it, Su Xiuyu realized his standing. He was on the same level as Hashirama and Madara, while Kakashi was just the disciple of a disciple.
With that thought, he mentally activated his system and traveled to the Naruto world.
---
It had been a while since he last saw Senju Hashirama. He had been training under Madara for some time, focusing on building a solid foundation. After all, Hashirama was never great at teaching.
Right now, the guy was deep in conversation with a white-haired boy—Senju Tobirama.
Su Xiuyu had no intention of dealing with Tobirama just yet. The man was sharp, calculating, and, to be blunt, downright ruthless.
Besides being a master of forbidden techniques and an expert in Water Release, Tobirama had another notorious talent—slandering the Uchiha.
His famous line? "The Uchiha are inherently evil."
Given that Su Xiuyu had a strong friendship with Uchiha Madara, it was only natural that Tobirama would be wary of him.
That said, Su Xiuyu did plan to learn forbidden techniques from him in the future, so there was no point in antagonizing him now.
He waited until Tobirama left before showing himself.
"Hashirama, I'm back."
"Xiuyu? Man, you came at the worst time." Hashirama sighed.
"What's wrong?" Su Xiuyu looked him over. Hashirama looked unusually troubled. "Did something happen while I was gone? Or did you just lose another game?"
"Damn it! My card skills have improved, okay?" Hashirama grumbled, then let out another sigh. "It's just... the war is about to start again."
Su Xiuyu's expression turned serious. "What do you mean?"
"My father, Butsuma, has already given the order. There's going to be a major battle tomorrow. I talked to my brother about it, but Tobirama thinks I'm being too soft—he says I shouldn't think so much."
Su Xiuyu sighed. "Honestly, Hashirama, sometimes you are too kind. I get your ambitions, but once people die, there's no second chance. All those dreams and ideals? They just turn into dust."
"So even you think I'm too indecisive?" Hashirama muttered.
"But," Su Xiuyu continued, "that's what makes you who you are. As a friend, I respect that. I don't have to agree with everything, but I won't dismiss your ideals either."
"In this blood-soaked Warring States era, you're like a white lotus," Su Xiuyu added.
Hashirama's face lit up. "Oh? That sounds deep! But I get what you mean—you agree with me! Haha! Finally, someone understands!"
A moment ago, he had been depressed, but now he was laughing like an idiot.
Su Xiuyu shook his head. This guy's mood swings were insane.
"So, which clan are you fighting tomorrow?" Su Xiuyu asked.
Hashirama's smile faded. "The Uchiha."
He clenched his fists. "Father and Uchiha Tajima have agreed on a battle. The cycle of war continues. More bloodshed, more hatred. This damn chaotic world!"
Right now, Hashirama was still far from his peak. He wasn't the one making the decisions—the Senju leader, his father, Butsuma Senju, was in control.
It was the same on the Uchiha side. No matter how powerful and ambitious Madara would become in the future, right now, he was just another soldier following orders from his father, Uchiha Tajima.
In this era, even blood ties were dictated by the strength of one's fists.
"Hashirama, I can't interfere in the war between the Senju and Uchiha clans," Su Xiuyu said after a long pause. "You know that, right? You're both my friends—I can't take sides."
"I know," Hashirama replied bitterly. "And honestly, I feel awful about it too. Madara is my best friend, yet here we are, forced to fight. This damn world..."
Hashirama's ideal—a world without war—still seemed impossibly far away.
"I'll be watching the battle tomorrow," Su Xiuyu said. "If I can, I'll try to help some people on the battlefield. But you know where I stand—I can't change the tides yet."
Su Xiuyu knew his position. Right now, he didn't have the power to rewrite the course of history. He could only go with the flow and see where this chaotic world would take him.
