Chapter 2 - Chapter 2:A Keen Eye for Beauty

Hill was only half the size of Garon.

Her build wasn't as robust as his, lacking his thick muscles. Instead, her body displayed graceful, streamlined curves. The scales on her body appeared whiter and softer, and her dragon tail was rounded and slender, with every proportion from the base to the tip approaching perfection.

She was a very pretty little female dragon.

Furthermore, according to the Dragon Inheritance, there was no reproductive isolation between dragons and creatures of other races, nor between dragons themselves. There was also no concept of close relatives being unable to mate.

The instant this thought surfaced, Garon's heart clenched violently, startling him greatly.

Having received the Dragon Inheritance, his aesthetic sense, in addition to his original human one, now also incorporated the dragon aesthetic, which held unique insights into various biological races.

Regarding the dragon aesthetic, Garon's assessment was that they possessed a pair of perverted eyes capable of discovering beauty.

The effect was so powerful that it could find beauty in any species, any life form, even slimes.

As a result, creatures with dragon bloodlines were countless in this world. The unique aesthetic of dragons, combined with their potent lower body capabilities and lack of reproductive isolation, had made outstanding contributions to enhancing biodiversity.

In the dragon aesthetic, the little female dragon Hill was indeed a beautiful creature whose姿态 would attract the attention of dragons.

Actually, Garon himself couldn't quite figure out whether it was Yang Jian, the human, who had gained a dragon's body, or if Garon, the white dragon, had accidentally devoured a human soul.

But regardless, the adaptable Garon quickly accepted his dragon identity. His former human appearance was gradually becoming blurred.

After speaking her True Dragon Name, Hill looked at her dragon brother, who had been staring at her.

A few seconds later, she flicked her slender and delicate dragon tail, retracted her gaze, turned her back to Garon, and crunched on her own eggshell.

"I wonder what her egg tastes like. Is it the same as mine?"

Seeing Hill eating so intently, Garon quietly approached, his eyes straight ahead. Then, with a flick of his dragon tail, he swept a few scattered eggshell fragments nearby and immediately stuffed them into his mouth.

Crunch, crunch... There was a creamy taste, soft and sweet like ice cream, and Hill also had a similar scent.

Really good, really good.

Just as Garon was happily eating and contemplating whether to steal some more, he suddenly heard a heavy breathing sound. He turned his head and saw the White Dragon Mother's massive dragon head with its ferocious facial armor.

Clearly, although Hill hadn't seen it, the White Dragon Mother had noticed Garon's little actions.

However, the White Dragon Mother merely glanced at Garon silently, showing no intention of stopping him. Instead, she watched him with a strange gaze, observing his next move.

Among all dragon species, white dragons were perhaps the most indifferent towards their offspring.

Even other dragons belonging to the evil dragon lineage, although cruel, cunning, selfish, and with weak familial bonds, would at least pay some attention to their young, providing some care, giving food, and offering protection, so that the dragonets wouldn't easily die young.

Because the responsibility of caring for offspring was also imprinted in the Dragon Inheritance, and it was also a requirement of Tiamat, the Evil Dragon God, for the five-colored evil dragons.

A race whose entire being was coveted, no matter how powerful it was, would not be far from extinction if it completely disregarded its descendants.

Dragons, as one of the top-level creatures in many planes, naturally wouldn't have such an anti-biological flaw.

But white dragons were somewhat different.

White dragons often procreated not out of a sense of responsibility for reproduction, but simply for pleasure, pursuing the instinctive pleasure in the process of reproduction, incidentally producing dragonets.

Especially since Garon's White Dragon Mother was a young dragon in her nineties, still some time away from officially reaching adulthood.

She was not prepared to care for offspring at this time.

This birth was also the White Dragon Mother's first time being a dragon mother.

One was a dragonet for the first time, and the other was a dragon mother for the first time. They were equally inexperienced, and neither could strictly demand anything from the other.

From Garon's dragon aesthetic perspective, his White Dragon Mother was also excessively young. Although there were some rough marks on her scales, most of them were still smooth and reflective.

When white dragon hatchlings were first born, their entire bodies were covered in white scales that reflected light like a mirror. As they aged, the scales would become increasingly rough and thick.

However, Garon, unable to fathom the White Dragon Mother's thoughts, could only give an awkward smile under her deep gaze, and then take the last unswallowed piece of eggshell from his mouth.

Poking the oblivious Hill, Garon reluctantly returned the eggshell fragment to her.

Hill thought it was a fragment of Garon's own eggshell. She tilted her head and gave her dragon brother a disdainful look, then unceremoniously swallowed it in one gulp.

Without even a word of thanks, she turned her head and continued to eat her own eggshell.

Judging from the generally selfish nature of white dragons, Hill probably thought Garon's act of giving her the eggshell was idiotic. Even though Garon was nearly twice her size, it didn't stop Hill's contempt.

At the same time, Garon felt that his hunger hadn't disappeared.

The growth of dragons was extremely rapid. At the moment of birth, the dragon body would enter a state of craving all nutrients for growth. Dragonets could even eat food several times their own size.

Normally, when a dragonet was born, the dragon mother would prepare some prey for it to eat.

Clearly, the White Dragon Mother couldn't be considered a responsible dragon mother, as she hadn't prepared anything for her offspring.

And the substances contained in the eggshell were not enough to satisfy the appetite of an astonishingly hungry dragonet.

Especially Garon, who was much larger than ordinary white dragon hatchlings.

He was very hungry, and a hunger that made him even want to gnaw on the earth kept surging.

The diet of dragons was very broad, possessing a stomach that could be described as a furnace of all things.

Meat, plants, metal, minerals, magical items... dragons could eat almost any material. Their digestive system was terrifyingly powerful. However, the taste of many substances was not considered delicious by dragons.

Soil and rocks were also among the foods that dragons could eat, and they could also provide some inorganic substances that could accelerate the growth of scales and bones. Many dragonets would eat soil to satisfy their hunger when they were very hungry.

However, dragons would generally rather starve than eat soil because they couldn't afford to lose face as dragons.

Proud dragons would never succumb to mere hunger.

Crack!

Driven by hunger, Garon took action. He lowered his head and bit down on the smooth ground.

With one bite, he only felt a sourness in his dragon teeth, and only a shallow white mark remained on the cave floor.

"Can't bite through it. Sigh, life is tough for a dragon."

Unlike the soft soil of the jungle or wetlands, Garon's birthplace was a boundless ice field.

The nest he was in was shaped like a winding snake, with walls and ceiling made of mirror-like ice crystals. It didn't seem naturally formed, and was likely deliberately created by the White Dragon Mother using frost. Many white dragons favored this type of nest.

Even the floor of the nest was coated with a layer of ice crystals.

White dragons especially loved building nests with ice crystals, and the special structure of white dragon claws also had anti-slip properties.

Due to the low temperature of the ice field, which was below zero degrees Celsius year-round, coupled with the influence of the cold air emanating from the White Dragon Mother's body, these ice crystals were extremely hard, as if they had been protected by magic. Their hardness was similar to steel, and they were even better in terms of toughness.

Garon would definitely be able to bite through it when he grew bigger, but not now.

The poor dragonet couldn't even eat ice to satisfy his hunger, and he even chipped his dragon teeth.

Life is hard, dragon sighs... Garon bared his sore teeth, then drooped his eyelids, putting on a pitiful look as he looked at the White Dragon Mother.

He opened his mouth, extended his dragon claws, and pointed to his empty mouth.

"Give me something to eat, my lovely and generous White Dragon Mother."

Garon thought to himself.

The vocal cord structure of a newly born dragonet was relatively fragile, not enough for Garon to speak complete Dragon Language or the Common Language of the continent. Uttering that super long True Name had already made his throat somewhat uncomfortable.

It would probably take another two to three weeks before a dragonet could speak normally and clearly.

At the same time, Garon's clear actions were useless.

He didn't see any reaction. The White Dragon Mother was looking at him with the eyes of someone looking at an idiot.
