Tina gazed at the screen in front her and the spoon she was using to eat, faltered from her hand. The nurse was shocked and followed her gaze to the TV. Ma'am do you know that man in the TV? The nurse asked.
Drayton was seen with Debby in the TV, his hand encircled around her waist. They were smiling from ear to ear, as a lot of flashes of light radiated on their faces.
The paparazzi was going wild about the news if Debby's pregnancy. "Mrs Debby Anderson was pregnant with Drayton's child within a short span of time, why his ex-wife Tani couldn't even give him a child."
The reporter in the news channel said and Tani clenched her fist in anger. "No" she denied the Nurse's question. "I do not know the man in the TV." She said looking away as a tear dropped from her eyes.
They looked so happy together, something she and Drayton never had. Debby was pregnant with his child, and Tani just lost her's.
The thought of it made Tani's heart bleed, when the nurse saw how emotional Tani was, she picked up the remote and turned off the TV. "Ma'am I will be right back." The nurse said dropping the remote on a table, then she turned around and took her leave.
Tani was glad that the nurse had finally gone, now she could have some alone time. Her eyes glistered with tears but she refused to allow them to fall. She felt so stupid, she has been used and dumped like some kind of toy.
This was what she got for enduring this marriage for five years! She felt her blood boil with surging anger, lack hot larvae is sproutted in her heart and reduced all the love she had for Drayton to nothing.
Now she could feel only hatred towards him. He would simply push past her to his room and lock the door, then she would have to sleep in the guest room.
The other side of the bed would be empty, as she laid on the bed wishing for once Drayton would call on her. But he wouldn't, when it was morning she would dash off to the kitchen to make breakfast for him, only to knock on the door of his room and find out he has gone to the office.
She even tried to look fit, she became so lean due to her constant dieting. "This might be the reason he doesn't touch me." She would say to herself, keeping check of the food she ate. Or was it her hair? She would change the style of hair daily just to impress him and give him different shades of how she looked, but not once did he compliment her beauty or effort.
He made he quit her dreams of being a actress, he assured her that he would provide ample supply of all her needs and told her not to take on acting, and he did. Everything Tani wore was designer clothes, ranging from her bags to her shoes, he really did have her everything a woman could ask for except one thing . His love, this was really what she wanted, all she wanted from him was his time, his love and his attention.
He never took her along to any gathering or important events, he was always ashamed of her, and even told her right to her face that she wasn't fit to stand next to him in public.
This always left Tina in agony, but she always picked up the pieces of her life and pushed on hopefully wishing that one day things would turn out better. But she was Wrong, as days passed on things became worse, then one-day she heard that he was sleeping with various girls in different hotels, she refused to believe any of the rumors.
Even if Drayton didn't love her, he respected her as his wife right? This were her thoughts. Then Daisy came along on a fleeting visit and said the same thing, she even tried to show Tani a photo she had taken of Drayton with another woman at a club but Tani simply scolded her and walked away.
She didn't want to believe he would do any of that, then one-day she caught him, during shopping spree with a lady who was clingy to her husband like she was his wife.
She walked up to them and addressed then and the sidechick had the impetus to insult her and called herself Drayton's girlfriend. Tani had addressed the issue later that night, but Drayton told her it was just a fling, just a fling?
For goodness sake he was a married man! But he promised Tani he would never do it again, but just some hours ago she caught him with his secretary in his office. How pathetic! Tani cursed under her breath as she had just taken a journey down memory lane and the only thing she could comprehend was that all this time Drayton never really did love her.
M He was only using her for his selfish gain, she had helped him badge a contract with her father's company. That was the only thing he wanted from her. Tina's eyes flashed with a dreadful look, her thoughts were making her head ache. She languishly climbed down from the bed and made her way outside the ward.
She walked past various ward but then abruptly stopped when her gaze caught something. It was radiating glamorously, as the ray of the morning sun penetrated through the window and reflected on it. Tani inched closer to the door, it was transparent so she could see everything that was happening inside.
The first thing her eyes caught was a woman sitted on the hospital bed, her delicate features was laudable. Her pink plump lips and shinny blue eyes were seductive. She was scrutinizing a diamond bracelet in her hand, a man tailored in suit had just given it to her. "This is for you." His deep voice cooed and the woman's eyes were filled with warmeth.
Tani couldn't see the man's face because he was backing her. He was sitted on a chair beside the hospital bed and they were two other men behind him."It's lovely." The woman's sonorous voice made Tina shriek.
"The doctor what did he say? Rose asked Leon and his countenance changed. He gazed at Rose and saw the fear in her eyes, the fear of loosing her unborn baby, he couldn't bring himself to tell her the truth. "They are going to find a surrogate, that would increase the percent of the child being given birth in a healthy state and you will be fine." He said squeezing her soft hand gently. He loved this woman in front of him, he wouldn't let anything happen to her.
Rose nodded gentle, and bought her face to Leon's chest as they entwined in a warm embrace. She wanted to be strong for him but could feel her soul slipping away every minute, she knew she might not make it out alive.
That was why she wanted to give birth to this child, the child will always remind Leon of her and they would be happy together. Tani's heart fluttered when she heard the man call the name Rose. "Was that Mrs Rose Tanye? She thought to herself, she immediately wanted to go in and thank her but just then the nurse pulled her away to a secluded place.
"Madam what do you think you are doing? The nurse questioned with arched brows. If Tani knew the man that was in that room she would never even dare to think of standing there for that long. "That is Mrs Rose, right? I want to thank her for her benovelence towards me." Tani said sparing the door of the room a fleeting glance.
"No one is allowed into that room, it is a vip room and only specialized doctor can go in there." The nurse said pulling as far away as possible. "Who was that man in there with her? Tani curiously questioned. That man, he his her husband." The nurse answered and became quiet. She was afraid of uttering another word, she loved her job.
Talking about Mr. Leon can be offensive, the walls have ear you know. So she preferred to remain quiet, and she was wise to do so because right at that moment, Mrs Tanye, Leon's mother walked past them heading for the vip room.
When Tani got to her ward, she breathesly asked. "When will I be discharged? That would be in two days time, for now you need some rest." The nurse said helping her to sit on the bed. "I want to go home, this place is making sick, I am perfectly fine now." Tani said but the nurse won't hear it. You are not fully...the nurse was interceded. "I said I want to go home! Tani shrilled and sprang up from the bed, she was tired of this place, all she could think of was going back home to settle some scores.
Seeing Tani's dogmatic disposure, the nurse was baffled. It wasn't in her working protocol to make a patient feel uncomfortable. So since Tani insisted she had no choice. "Okay then, I will get the discharge papers." The nurse said then dashed out of the room, she was back a few minutes later, Tani quickly signed them and left.
Immediately she stepped out of the hospital arena, she diverted her steps and took a taxi to the court registry.
Since it was a divorce he wants, she would give it to him.
