The Cold Hearted stared in awe. Her and that man, they were best friends. He was there for her in any tough time, yet now, his iron face blugeoned by an object that should never have hurt him. He might've had a metal body, but the sight was still horrific, his entire iron body mangled beyond repair. And standing over him, was the 12 year old child responsible for it. And all that child could say?
He just killed a human being, and all he could say was "Eh."
He could've done anything. He could've argued that it was in self defense, he could've said that he had no choice, but no. He just didn't care. He didn't care about the loss of life which was so important to her.
She knew it wasn't fair. He DID kill in self defense, but that wasn't what bothered her. It was the fact that the boy seemed to take a giddy, gleeful joy in murder. He was nothing but a psychopath, unfeeling & apathetic, who not only participated in causing pain and strife, but enjoyed inflicting it upon others. To that, all she could say, was "Why?"
The boy, now looking at her in anger, responded with a cold tone. "Why? Because it was fun."
"You freak!!" She screamed, shooting a giant pillar of ice at the boy, but it was far too late. By that point, the boy had already teleported away, not to be seen from her in a very long time.
In the aftermath, there was nothing she could do but sit & cry. She knew it wasn't his fault, that they had attacked him first. But still, it filled her with grief to know that her best friend was murdered in cold blood by some kid that just developed their powers.
But in her mind, she smiled, only a little bit, knowing that she had also secretly planted a tracking device on him right before he teleported away.
She muttered words of hate, and distain as she readied herself.
"Kid... I won't rest until you're dead! I won't let you have a day of peace until you've met your end! I will... kill you!!"
-Meanwhile, back at Jesse's location-
Having barely teleported away, I took a heavy sigh of relief. I almost died back there, and nobody was going to save me.
Sitting in victory, I let out an amazing, beautiful, happily irresistable laugh. "I did it! I unlocked a power! I'm finally a Chaotic Demon!!"
Looking in joy, I saw someone in a distance. Someone flying. "Who is that?" I asked to myself, before falling asleep in a very comfortable position.
A few hours ago, I woke up, in pain all over. The soreness was killing me. My injuries weren't gonna go away easily.
But now that I can teleport, what should I do, now? I have complete freedom, and could do whatever I wanted! I had complete freedom, complete victory!
Just days later, I was given the epithet of the Adrenaline Junkie! A horrific evil said to be a psychopath. They blamed me, and me solely for all the deaths in the school, the entire place had been levelled to the ground just so more Chaotic Demons couldn't track me.
Normally, Chaotic Demons fighting meant death for anyone else in the vacinity, so the military wished to avoid that.
I, however, wasn't so lucky.
Just days after becoming the Adrenaline Junkie, a woman appeared in front of me.
"Hello, Adrenaline Junkie."
The woman looked strange, and something about her made her face look uncanny.
"The red string of fate brought us here today. Brought us together. You are only a child, yet looking at that red string of fate, I can see that you will change the world in many interesting ways." She exclaimed.
The red string of fate? I didn't quite understand her, but regardless, assumed her intentions were poor.
"Who are you?" I asked.
She only looked at me in silence, before speaking. "You... As the red string of fate has decreed, you shall become a slave to the Gods, and you will be unable to rest, even in death."
I sat back and laughed. "An enemy of the Gods, eh? I guess you could truly call me a defyer of authority!" I cried out, laughing until I cried.
The woman looked at me as if I misconstrued her words. "You are a strange one, Freedom Junkie. I hope to meet you again someday."
Freedom Junkie? I was confused. My title was the Adrenaline Junkie! Although, Freedom Junkie... I liked the sound of it.
As I turned around to speak to her, she had dissappeared into thin air.
"She's... gone."
And on this day, the Adrenaline Junkie became known to every single person in the entire world! Many Chaotic Demon's learned of my existence.
-Meanwhile, in a war torn country-
"RUN! IT'S HER!!"
Plenty of people screamed with fear in their eyes.
As the masses ran, desperately escaping the broken battlefield! Flying upon them, was a singular woman. One of the most dangerous Chaotic Demons in the entire world! The Energy Psycho!! Coiled around her was a strange golden energy, wrapped around her entire body like a snake. Forever fluid. Forever powerful.
"Ah... all of these Celestial Angels and Chaotic Demons are weak. I've even fought real demons, yet none of them have affected me. They're weak. But this new one... entertains me. The Adrenaline Junkie! I'll kill him, for sure!"
As she flies away at top speed, she flies away, laughing, screaming crazily and showing her true insanity!
-Back at New America-
I, the newly appointed Adrenaline Junkie, decided to continue walking across New America. "Ah, it's so boring! Nothing's happened for days! Ever since I met that weirdo, I've been having nothing but bad luck!"
As I travelled across the land, I had realized one thing. "It's boring. Maybe I need to do something..."
While travelling, I had used a mix of teleportation & walking to speed up the process, but quickly learned that I could only teleport for a limited amount of times before being unable.
As time passed, I eventually saw something in the distance. Having gone a far way away, I saw a village in the distance!
Running over to it, I noticed something. The entire village was destroyed! A giant ring of fire surrounded the place, and along the village was a giant pentagram.
"Was someone trying to summon the devil? That's crazy! Demons aren't real!" I laughed in excitement! I knew that I was finally about to satisfy my adrenaline!
Looking across the village, I slowly walked through the now burned down buildings.
"There's no sign of people anywhere! It's like everyone here went missing! What's going on?" I told myself out loud.
Looking at the pentogram more closely, I saw something strange. How did they draw this?
No...! I saw it clearly now, this pentogram was drawn in blood. All across it was hair and small chucks.
Picking up some of the small chunks, I instantly noticed it. The distinct pieces I'd come to learn about since killing people using my powers! These were chunks of blood!
"Nasty!" I shouted out loud, before thinking to myself. "Well, I am hungry. If I don't have real food to eat, I might as well..."
Instantly stopping myself, I gagged at the thought of eating another person. Cannibalism was nasty, although, the story would be different for me if the food was cooked. I mean, ribs are tasty, no matter the animal, right?
Why was I actually thinking about this, as if I'd actually eat it. There's real food hidden in this village somewhere! I knew it! All I had to do was find it.
As I travelled across the village, I noticed 1 house that wasn't completely destroyed.
"Food!" I screamed out in happiness! Maybe in the future, I'd be strong enough to teleport long distances, but for now, I could only teleport short distances. This meant that food was scarce. If I could just teleport anywhere, I'd just teleport to food.
Instantly teleporting right inside the house, I immediately notices a strange, pungent smell coming from the house. It was so gross that I almost passed out. As I walked into the kitchen, I instantly realized where the smell was coming from. 2 dead bodies, rotting and decomposing stares me in the face, worms were crawling out of their empty carcasses.
Immediately setting that aside, I rushed towards the fridge, getting ready to see what was there.
Looking inside of their fridge, I was hit once again with another pungent smell. "Everything here is rotten!" I shouted out, until I looked closer. In small plastic containers were weird sacks of meat. They looked similar to pork, but had a strange color. Not even rotten meat would have this color...
What was it?
Looking a bit closer, I instantly noticed it! This heart! I've seen it before, in a ton of those cartel execution gore videos online. I used to watch them in my first life on earth all the time. What was a morbid curiosity actually helped me piece together the real secret of what was going on right now, who woulda guessed?
It was a human heart? Not only that, but even in the freezer, the thing was still beating! It defied all logic! How is this thing still beating?
Even more, I instantly noticed other parts of 'Long Pig', as they say: Humans!
"Was this a town of cannibals? That's fucking weird! Why do they have this stuff?
More and more, this situation scared me, because it was almost as if a horror movie came to life, and I was the protagonist, ripe for trauma!
"Put the heart down!"
I heard a cute voice from behind me. Looking around, I saw it. A small little girl, she couldn't have been more than 10. Although for me, a man whose livd for years, her holding a sharp knife at me didn't scare me all that much.
She had a weird yellow hair, almost as if blonde, and her features didn't sit quite right on her face, as if they were cobbled together.
Put simply, it looked as if she had been put through a character select menu, and all of her character traits were jumbled up incorrectly.
"Aw, you're adorable, you little shit! Where's your parents?" I asked, sarcastically.
In reality, she was probably one of the ugliest kids I'd ever laid my eyes on
To my surprise, without hesitating, she trusted me completely, and told her answer. "They're gone. Everyone's gone!"
What? "How could an entire town just disappear like that?" I asked in disbelief.
"They were trying to bring something here, from that world to this world, but then we were hunted."
Hunted? What could scare off a town of cannibals? I feared to think of the thing that did this to them. The next thing she said put a shock to my eyes.
"It was a Chaotic Demon! His name was the Adrenaline Junkie!"
What? "Tht's impossible kid, don't lie to me! The Adenaline Junkie didn't do this!" I shouted in anger.
She only replied in fear. "But it's true! I wasn't able to see his face, but his teleportation was as clear as day. He was even flying!"
Flying? I'd never been able to fly! This person clearly wasn't me, but I wouldn't pass up on the opportunity to learn new tricks from this strange teleporting fellow.
"He teleported into the sky, fell, and then teleported back up! We couldn't deal with his sporadic movements, and he managed to kill nearly half of us, then guess what? The fucker left! Just dissappeared in the middle of our battle, and then an hour later, we all died!"
This situation was getting stranger by the minute. "You all died, how?"
To my shock, and at the time, I didn't believe her at all, I mean, who would?
She started to speak...
"They were red, with black horns, carrying pitchforks that emitted a weird fire! They even had tails and fucked up teeth!"
What I couldn't believe with my own ears came out of her mouth. "They were demons! Real demons!"
"They hunted us down one by one, making it seem like a game to them! The one at the front was called Beelzebub, and he was the most terrifying out of all of them!"
What? This didn't make any sense to me. Little did I know, years later, I'd forget about this conversation entirely, on account of me assuming it was a lie.
"That demon, Beelzebub! He commanded them like slaves, and with their control of fire, they burned the village to the ground, and destroyed our summoning circle!"
She continued speaking with an insurmountable amount of rage.
"That demon, Beelzebub! I'll make him pay!"
In response to her words, I began to correct her. "Well,I believe the part of your story about the demons", which, was a complete and utter lie. I didn't believe her at all. "But whoever you fought beforehand, that wasn't the Adrenaline Junkie."
She looked towards me, clearly confused. "How so?" She asked, with uncertainy.
"Because I am the Adrenaline Junkie!"
