Chapter 8 - Oops

At the end of the crater, Kyle continued to stand up to the large army.

"YOU LIE!" The boy said with so much conviction that it was sad to see him defy them.

A group of soldiers tried consoling him, but to no avail. "We're telling you the truth!"

Suddenly, a group of soldiers come back with a 3 bodies. One of which was distinctly the Wild Animal, the girl that saved both J and Kyle.

Kyle looks over. "Her!?" She sees the Cold Hearted, barely alive. "What about it, you asshole. I ain't gonna kill you, so just shut up and let me rest."

The boy instantly got angry. "You're just a freaking loser! I bet you're so mean because of how ugly you are!"

Then, Kyle stops, and takes a look at the other body.

"Shelby!" He looks over to her. She's covered in burn marks all over. "Is she gonna be okay?" He asks, forgetting about the argument earlier.

A medic from the army goes over to her.

"Woah! How is this possible?" The nurse screams in shock.

Kyle desperately rushes over to her, and asks the medic what the problem is.

The medic pauses for a second, before saying something interesting. "Normally, it takes years to completely heal from burns like these. I can tell she was literally melted alive, but...

She's already nearly fully healed."

Kyle thinks for a second. "AH! It must be her super speed. Maybe her speed isn't the only thing that's fast. Maybe she can heal fast too!"

The medic looks at Kyle for a second. "No. This isn't a power she has. It's embedded into her genetic code."

Kyle looks at her, clearly very confused.

The nurse reiterates. "I mean to say, someone altered her dna. It's like she's the perfect soldier. Ready to throw herself into the line of danger and come back with ease."

Kyle, once again, very confused, asks her. "What kinda nurse are you? I mean, genetic code? That has nothing to do with medicine."

In response to his question, the nurse simply shrugs, and says, "Yeah, I took 6th grade science, so I know a lot about DNA!"

Kyle instantly looks at her as if she's insane. "Yeah, I took 6th Grade science, too. I don't think you knowing that is normal."

In that moment, Shelby wakes up. Kyle rushes to her, despite the fact that she has no idea what's going on.

"Shelby! You won't believe it! These are the good guys!" Kyle says.

Shelby looks around, shocked. "They are? Why do you sound so angry, then?"

"I'm angry because what they're telling me! They wanna kill J! After he saves our lives!"

The Wild Animal, awake now, decides to listen in on their conversation, but is utterly shocked with what she has to say.

The general, the man with a large scar across his face, he said something that made their hearts curl, and their blood curdle.

"That man, the one you've been travelling with, the Freedom Junkie, is evil."

Instantly, The Wild Animal's face scrunches up in terror. That man? The man who saved her. HE was the Freedom Junkie? The man her & her organization has been chasing this entire time. Now that she looks around, she becomes more clear! These people, they're members of her organization! Their outfits gave it away. They must be another branch of her organization, since she doesn't recognize them, only what they're wearing.

That man. The man who was always so far beyond her. The man who comitted all those awful crimes! That was him!? "He didn't seem all that evil..."

Kyle screams at her. "HE'S NOT!"

Shelby looks at the general in his face. "You say he's evil, but what has he done that you've personally seen with your own eyes?"

To that, the General gains an incredibly somber expression. "That man, the Freedom Junkie. Every crimes that exists in the book, you can bet he's done it. Cannibalism, rape, graverobbing, torture, genocide, necrophilia. He's a sadistic demon from Hell."

Kyle looks at him, incredulously, callously, with absolute disgust. "No. He wouldn't do that." He speaks softly.

The Cold Hearted walks up to Kyle, and retorts. "He's right. The Freedom Junkie is even more evil than I am. He's a psycho freak. He even killed his ow-"

"Shut the fuck up!" Kyle screams, with a barbaric level of rage. "Don't you ever call him a psycho freak! You're evil! You kill people all the time! He's not a murderer!"

"Believe me, don't believe me, I don't care, but if you keep trusting that psychotic weirdo, you're gonna get hurt." She says, as she lies back down, groaning in pain.

"It's all true." The general says. "That man did something unforgiveable to me. That is why I, the leader, founded this organization. We have to stop him. He's a narcissistic sociopath with little to no feelings of guilt, remorse or sadness. He doesn't care about anything."

Kyle looks over to Shelby. "You actually believe this shit!?"

Shelby pauses for a long time. "I think it might be true." She says.

With that, Kyle flies into a blind rage. "How could you say that!? The man saved our lives countless times!"

Shelby looks over to him, worried. "Are you really saying that you didn't see any red flags? My dad literally warned you not to trust him."

Flying off the handle, Kyle says "Your dad? The guy who created you as a mass murdering tool, with the specific purpose of killing him!? Yeah, sure! I'll take his word over what i've seen with my own 2 eyes."

Shelby, clearly uncomfortable, decides to speak anyway, despite knowing it'll only make Kyle more angry. "What have you seen with your own 2 eyes? How long have you known him for? 2 weeks? I mean, the second the guy learned we were trapped in that forest, he teleported away. He didn't even take a second to think about us."

Kyle was frustrated now. "He came back, you ungrateful shit!"

Shelby could only look on and say a couple words. "Are you sure you know him that well? I mean... he wasn't exactly a good guy. He was literally called a Chaotic Demon by the public. Nobody gets called a Chaotic Demon for picking daisies and plucking flowers. Each and every one of them has done some psychotic shit."

Kyle, now in tears, screams out. "But he's different! He doesn't even like being called a Chaotic Demon!"

Shelby came over to him, and consoled him. "Look, i'm not saying don't trust them, but don't you think its at least a little strange. Everybody here is 100% certain he's evil, and he did just leave us hanging. Think of it, when he was fighting those 3 Chaotic Demons, did he even make an attempt to lure them away from you?"

Kyle knew the answer was no, but he continued to deny it.

"Yeah, well, maybe he just wasn't thinking! People make mistakes in the heat of battle all the time!"

Kyle snorts. "It's all a coincidence! Trust me! He'll come back, and when he does, he'll prove to all of you how righteous he is!"

-Back at J's whereabouts-

I remember a time when I was a kid. Or lack thereof. My dad told me later on that my biological mother was abusive. I still don't get it. I am the way I am in small part, thanks to her. I'm the Freedom Junkie, of course. But apparently, she did some crazy things. Forgot about me, and left me wrapped in electrical cords. She apparently threw a lit cigarette at me at one time, and one especially bad case, when she cut her wrists, and showed the blood to me, saying that I was the reason for it. But for some reason, I don't remember any of that. It did happen when I was a child, but still, you'd think something like that would be burned into my memory

The only memory I have of her in early childhood was her being dragged out of the house by police, screaming. It was loud, haunting, and felt eerily shocking and awe-inducing. Those screams. And her eyes. The eyes of a crazy person. I couldn't get it out of my head for weeks. For months, I'd go to sleep, and hear those screams in my nightmares. The screaming. The eyes. Those damn psychotic eyes. I couldn't get it out of my head. I lost sleep over those screams.

The worst part, however, was when my adopted parents indoctrinated me into hating her. I still don't like her, but they didn't let me come to the conclusion myself. Instead, every time her name would come up, they would always tell me she was horrible, and then they'd get mad at me when I treated her poorly. I didn't get it. They were the ones who made me treat her like garbage, yet they got mad when I actually did it. It still sticks with me. Those awful memories.

Regardless, the memories of my life & childhood slip in & out of me like waves of nostalgia being overturned in the beaches of time. It's been so long. I'm tired. My eyes feel heavy, and as I quantum fly, I realize that its not the fact that im tired. It's because im sick. I'm sick of remembering.

I also recall good memories too, but the bad memories always come up. At one point, it even felt like I was trapped in my own mind. As if my own memories were a prison for me. Quantum flying, I finally reach my destination. "Buddy!" I shout, seeing Kyle and the group in the distance. As I finally land on the ground, the entire army stands guard.

"IT'S HIM! THE FREEDOM JUNKIE!"

Great, here it comes again. Every time, once someone learns who I am, the people always have the same reaction.

You killed my family.

You hurt my wife.

You tortured my friends.

I'm so sick of it.

I look at Kyle, with bloodshot eyes, and he shouts, so excited to see me, before I see Shelby push him back.

I see. I know what this is.

Betrayal.

With my now bloodshot eyes, I give a mean, snarky, sadistic smile. I can see it in their eyes. They recognize my eyes. They've all seen it. The eyes of a crazy person!

I instantly teleport into the sky, and scream, for everyone to hear me. "KYLE! IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE MY DREAM! YOU MUST DIE!!!!" I shout, finally happy.

This is the only time I can be truly happy. Fighting to achieve my ultimate dream!

Instantly, I teleport through thousands of soldiers, ripping them apart, killing them all. I start with the medics. Without healers, I can hunt them down more effectively. Most of the medics are women, but I rip through them anyway!

Kyle sees me teleport my hands directly inside of a nurses stomach and use my superior strength to rip her in half. Some parts of her body sticks together like strings of red and white sinue. As she is slowly ripped in half, she starts to vomit up a mix of blood & puke, but I kill her before she finishes, one of her eyes popping out of her skull in a disgustingly vile way. Her corpse begins shooting out blood like a rushing wave or a billowing geyser, puddling on the ground in a giant fountain, and her lifeless eyes as she drops to the ground like a sack of potatos becomes imbedded into his eyes. He'll never forget!

It looked as if a waterfall of blood had rained from the sky as I kill hundreds of soldiers.

Some of them screamed. Some cried. Others curled up into the fetal position and started to beg for their mothers.

"BLOOD! IT'S RAINING BLOOD!!!" In truth, it did look like it was raining blood, but the reality is that I had killed so many soldiers in their fighter jets that their blood poured down from the sky in droves, making it look exactly as if blood was raining in my presence.

"DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I Scream with satisfaction. As I rip through bodies, the cannon's and artillery fires at me, unable to hit me at all.

I see Shelby scream over to Kyle! "Run! He IS evil!" Kyle desperately tries to reason with her. "No! It must be a misunderstanding! Maybe it's mind control? A clone? It's not him doing this!"

I laugh, my freedom being beautiful and unstoppable. True freedom is casting aside your morals. When you love people, it just prevents you from having full freedom! In front of true freedom, all humans are equal to insects. Freedom is the destruction of authority!

"Kyle! Look, you have to escape!"

As I see that Kyle is about to escape, I realize something. I can totally just teleport into him & kill him on the spot, but I want to have some fun with this. "Let's scare him." I mutter while smiling giddily.

I teleport right inside of Shelby, and completely tear her insides apart, smiling with glee!

Her bloody intestines explode, being ripped apart all over the place, scraps of meat flying all over. Her meat plops to the ground, and I notice something strange. There are weird robotic parts inside of her body. I've never teleported inside of someone and had that happen. I mean, sometimes their body just completely is destroyed, and a few times, they'll just explode, but having robotic parts is something entirely new to me.

Kyle looks at me, with horror. "WHY!?" He screams in abject agony and fear. He's still thinking of the small whimper that Shelby gave as she died horrifically. "I know you're a good person! You saved me! Why would you do that! If you really were a bad guy, you wouldn't have done that! You're a good person."

In response to that, I give a creepily sadistic smile, with my eyes flashing beautifully, shining with the light of happiness.

"Entertainment."

The truth was, while I did make it a priority to save him when I could, it was only because he provided some entertainment to me. Travelling alone is so boring sometimes. Every once in a while, I need a companion. When I get sick of them, I just kill them. Other times, if I really like them, I'll just abandon them in the middle of nowhere and make them fend for themselves. Either way, it doesn't affect me what they do after I get bored with them.

I can tell that, despite the fact he saw me kill Shelby in front of his very own eyes, he doesn't believe me.

"Haaah... This is kinda boring, you fucking jackass. It would be more fun if you ran." I say, prompting him to get up, and start running, full speed ahead.

As I quantum fly, catching up with him, I decide to be a little funny. I start screaming at the top of my lungs "RUN! RUN! THE MONSTER ON YOUR BED IS COMING TO....

TO CUT YOUR FUCKING BRAINS INTO RIBBONS AND FLAY YOUR ORGANS!!!"

Thinking of all the ways I could kill him so that the orb could officially be mine. I could rip his heart out. I could flay him alive. I could even decapitate him and then force the cooks in the army to eat him, as more of a playful irony. Of course, these were just ideas I had at the top of my head. There were far worse things I could do to him.

I look at front, seeing someone familiar! It's the general of this group. I remember him. He used to be a former soldier in the military.

Yeah! I can't remember his name, though! But I do remember what I did to him. As he stands in my way, trying to stop me from killing Kyle, I scream out in a wave of excitement. "HEY, GENERAL! HOW OLD WOULD YOUR DAUGHTER BE TODAY IF SHE WERE STILL WITH US!?" I laugh maniacally, with endless excitement as I see his face dry out, and his eyes grow gray. I remember, he had a grudge on me because I killed his daughter.

The general remembers his daughter like it was yesterday. She was 6 years old. They were having a happy time, before I, the Freedom Junkie, brutally murdered her with a fancy knife. To be fair, I was bored that day, and wondered what to do for fun. So I decided on the idea to get a man to do nothing in his life to hunt me down.

I did this in order to boost my adrenaline, and feel truly alive. Sadly, the guy just sat and fucking grovelled like a goddamn idiot.

Now, I know he wasn't just sitting in his room crying like a worthless pawn, but he was building up an army, an organization specifically to kill me.

Shit! I got distracted! Kyle's gone. The stupid boy managed to escape somewhere. I land and begin to talk to the general. "Listen man, I know you don't get this a lot, you know, with your raging hard-on for me being dead and all, but you did a really great job! I mean, this army you trained up is really nice. It feels great to pop their brains and play in their decapitated heads." I laugh with unending malice and hatred.

The general looks at me with endless hatred & rage in his eyes. "You will suffer a gruesome death one day."

In a joking response, I giggle out the words "I don't think they were able to hit me with the black fire, so I think im good.", as I teleport away, trying to find Kyle, the Wild Animal stands in front of me. "I won't let you get to that boy! If you want to kill him, you're gonna hafta' go through me!" As she says that, she stands her ground, trying to punch me with all her power. In return, I completely teleport through her arm, completely eviscerating it, never to be seen again. She falls unconscious, blood shooting out from her stump.

The general looks at me with rage. "How could you do that!? She saved your life!"

As I give a smile of satisfaction and fulfillment, the only word I have to say comes out, entirely unknowingly.

"Oops."
