IAN
I glared at Emma, my anger simmering just below the surface. Despite my repeated warnings for her to stay away from men, she continued to disregard my orders.
Seeing her close to Lucas had ignited a fire within me, and I could feel my blood boiling with rage.
I knew I had to take drastic steps immediately to make her understand that I wouldn't tolerate her disobedience.
"Welcome home Emma," I let out warmly, there was her little sister, trembling with fear, stuttering, "E... Emma," but didn't dare move, sensing that one wrong step could trigger my wrath.
I watch Emma fall to the ground, her eyes fixed on the scene before her, her eyes widened in horror.
"Alpha, you don't have to involve my family in this," she pleaded, almost in tears.
With lightning-fast speed, I sprinted toward her, pulling her from the ground and slamming her back against the wall.
My hands encircled her neck, and I inhaled deeply, savoring the scent of her fear.
"Alpha, my parents..." Emma's words trailed off as I tightened my grip.
Her sister whimpered again, "Em... Emma," but Emma shook her head, warning her not to intervene.
"Listen to me, Emma," I snarled, watching her gasping for air.
"You will obey me, or face the consequences. Your family's fate is in your hands, a wrong move tonight and you will live in regret forever."
(Maate..) Kane growled out again like he was trying to control himself.
"Alpha, please," Emma begged, her eyes welling up with tears. "I will do anything you want, just tell your guard to let go of my sister. She can't handle that much stress."
I smiled, enjoying the sight of her pleading for mercy I wouldn't give here easily. "Anything?" I repeated, Emma nodded, her eyes cast downward, and I felt a pang of satisfaction. She was finally acknowledging my power over her.
But then I glanced at her family, her dad shot me that disgusting look but I couldn't utter a word and my expression hardened.
"Fine," I growled, my fist tightening around Emma's neck. "I want your body."
Emma's gaze snapped up to mine, a spark of anger igniting in her eyes. "You pervert!" she spat, pushing me back ward with full force as her hand flew up coming in contact with my face.
Kane scoffed at this, (She still has it in her.) I could only stand staring at her in shock, ever since I regained my full power, no one dared push me against my will. (She is my mate.) Kane teased again.
My men closed in, ready to defend me, but I held up a hand, warning them to stay back. I was intrigued by Emma's fire, and I wanted to see more.
"Well, I am your Alpha and I will do whatever it takes to claim you. Even if you don't want me, your body will still respond to mine."
"Let my sister go! You are a monster!" I heard her sister's voice calling out, making me look back.
"Olivia! Don't say that!" Emma yelled, and immediately her eyes met mine like she knew what my neck action was. She was already running toward her sister, but she couldn't beat my speed.
I pulled Olivia's small body up as she struggled to breathe, but then I felt a strange sensation, a pang of unease that made me release her immediately.
The girl glared up at me, hatred burning in her eyes, but it was the flash of blue in her gaze that caught my attention. She had just like my eye color, the same deadly glare.
I could feel the power emanating from her but because she is still a kid she still couldn't exhibit this power.
"I hate you! I hate anyone who hurt my sister! You are a bad alpha!" she cried out her little hands slamming on my legs, I couldn't move an inch but just looked down at her.
(Why? Why do I feel this way?) Kane asked in frustration, (She is our mate's sister, we ought to feel that way.) I replied almost immediately and just then Emma ran tears grabbing her hands.
"Olivia! I told you to control your anger around anyone that isn't us!" Emma scolded her but she pouted her lips, "He hurt you."
"Alpha… we are so sorry… She is a kid, don't punish her, punish me instead." Emma's father apologized for falling to the ground.
My eyes bore into this girl and she shot me that warning glare that made me shift back.
"Emma, see you in the office," I said, my voice commanding. "We are going to continue our conversation another day, but for tonight..." I trailed off, my eyes locked on her, conveying the unspoken message.
I turned to my men, my gesture a clear signal for them to follow me. "Take care of her," I instructed, gesturing to the little girl.
Without hesitation, my men fell into step behind me, their faces expressionless. As we exited the cabin, I issued a final warning: "Not a word to anyone about what happened tonight."
My men exchanged weighted glances, their eyes locking onto mine before they bowed in unison, acknowledging my command. The darkness seemed to swallow us whole as we disappeared into the night, leaving Emma and her family behind. I hardly use my car because of my skills but when I leave for another meeting I do.
I walked into the packhouse, the cold air enveloping me like a shroud. It was a feeling I had grown accustomed to, but it still didn't sit well with me. This place, my supposed sanctuary, had never felt complete. And I knew exactly why.
"Where are you coming from?" Blake's voice cut through the silence, and I swerved to the left just in time to avoid his swinging fist.
"Damn man, what the fuck is wrong with you? You almost punched me!" I exclaimed, my eyes wide with surprise.
"I asked a question."
I stayed deadpan, hoping I didn't lose the little calm I had left Emma was getting under my skin, and I didn't like it one bit.
"You smell like her," Blake stated the obvious, his nose twitching with distaste.
I rolled my eyes, feigning nonchalance as I counted the steps to my room. "So what if I do?"
Blake's expression turned serious. "Don't you think you should let go of her? She's not supposed to be a concern anymore, ever since you rejected her."
I spun around, shooting daggers at him"I rejected her, but she doesn't accept my rejection. She's going to be with me, whether she likes it or not. And that applies to you, too. If you cross your limits, I won't hesitate to show you that I brought you here, and I can destroy you in a snap."
Blake's eyes locked onto mine. For a moment. "Ian!" he yelled.
"Don't you dare call me by my name!" I yelled back at him until I heard that voice that had begun to annoy me.
"Ian.."
"Why are you not asleep!" I cut her off not ready for her bickering, my eyes never leaving Blake.
"You smell different." she announced and I just walked off, "Ian… that is disrespectful, I am going to be your future Luna!" she yelled after me. I didn't stop on track just finding my way to my room so I could lock her out of my feelings.
"Ian! I am reporting you to my father if you won't do what I want." I stopped this time and glanced back at her.
"Your father?" I repeated, "Do you want that? Then you can go ahead." I affirmed.
I turned my room door knob and stopped again, "If you happen to find the one who owns the beautiful smell and dare do anything crazy, I wouldn't hesitate to end you."
