Doyun's carriage was just weird.
There were four people inside, including him, and he quickly found out who they were—Owen, Rae, and Hana. And, well… they were insane.
Since there was no driver—because, of course, magic—there were no teachers supervising them, no rules, and absolutely no structure. They could basically do whatever they wanted.
At the moment, they were attempting to burn a bag of Doritos.
Owen, with his usual squeaky, annoying voice, groaned in frustration. "Ughhh, why isn't it working?! I swear to god—"
Before anyone could stop him, he stood up, chucked the Doritos bag out of the carriage, and then—because why not?—randomly smacked the door.
"…Ow."
Rae, noticing his tragedy, immediately rushed over and grabbed Owen's hand, eyes full of dramatic concern. "Oh no, Owen… are you okay?" He stared into Owen's eyes like he was searching for a deeper answer.
This guy literally flirted with everyone.
Hana, who had been quietly reading a book up until now, finally spoke.
"Owen, first of all—shut the fuck up. You always whine. And you—" she turned to Rae, "stop being such a whore, will you?"
Owen gasped, looking at her like she had just insulted his entire existence. "Hana, you just don't get it… that Dorito bag was important, it was actually a gift from my grandma.."
Doyun, who had been doing his best to hold in his laughter, completely lost it at that.
Seriously, what the hell was even going on?
Owen turned to him next, completely ignoring Hana. "I mean, let's ask Doyun! Hana's just being mean, right? And I don't whine—why would she say that? That broke my heart."
Rae, predictably, was already preparing some flirty comeback. But before he could get a single word out, Hana smacked him upside the head.
"Don't you dare."
Rae looked up at her like she had just violated his whole bloodline, but in the end, he just sighed and sat back down.
Doyun finally spoke. "You guys are stupid. Like, seriously."
The three turned to him at the same time, all looking offended—as if what he just said applied to him instead.
"Well, you're not any better, Doyun," Owen muttered under his breath.
Then, as if that wasn't enough whining, he stretched with a dramatic sigh. "When are we getting there? It's taking forever—my head hurts, my feet also hurt, and my hand hurts."
Hana shot him a deadpan look. "See? You do whine a lot."
Owen ignored her, choosing instead to scoot over and sit next to Doyun. "Hana, are you ever gonna put that book down?"
Doyun glanced at it—some boring science book. Who even read those for fun?
Hana raised an eyebrow. "Are you slow? Why would I be reading?"
She tilted the book down, revealing a completely broken phone hidden behind it.
Doyun blinked. "Wait, what—"
Of course, it didn't work. No matter how hard anyone tried, technology never functioned properly in this world.
"Hana, that won't work," Rae said, and for once, he actually said something reasonable.
Hana just shrugged. "Worth a shot."
The conversation went on, shifting from one random topic to another—until, somehow, it switched to Yejun.
Doyun had no idea how it even happened.
…Well, kind of.
They had been talking about idols, which naturally led to someone mentioning Yejun's dad.
"Hey, but I heard Yejun is at this school, right?" Rae asked, his voice half-questioning, half-convinced.
"Yeah, he is," Hana confirmed, not even looking up from her now-useless phone. "I saw him with Doyun when they teleported."
At that moment, Hana decided to attempt fixing her phone. Unfortunately, her brilliant plan involved smacking it against Doyun's head.
"Ow, ow, ow, Hana what the fuck!"
It didn't work.
Now, she had no phone and Doyun had a headache.
"By the way, Doyun," she continued casually, as if she hadn't just assaulted him with a dead phone, "you and Yejun were together when you got here. You seemed pretty close. Are you guys friends?"
Doyun scoffed. "Ew, hell no. I hate him with all my guts."
The carriage fell into silence.
Everyone turned to him at once.
"Hmmm," Owen hummed, squinting at him suspiciously. "You sure, buddy boy…?"
The silence stretched.
Doyun twitched. "Owen, what the hell is 'buddy boy' supposed to mean? I swear, you really need to learn English better."
Owen just rolled his eyes. "I know that."
And just like that, the chaotic conversation continued.
Honestly, as much of a mess as Doyun's group was, Yejun's wasn't much better right now.
Over in his carriage, Yejun, Asher, Jia, and Sera had somehow ended up screaming Christmas songs at the top of their lungs.
Jae, however, was not having it.
Poor guy had his ears covered as tightly as possible, his face twisted in agony.
"Jingle bells, jingle bells—"
Just as they were about to finish their tenth song, Jae snapped.
"Can you guys shut the fuck up?!"
Silence.
Everyone stared at him, stunned.
"…Damn, Jae," Asher mumbled. "Didn't know you could be like that…"
He tried to say it quietly, but since the carriage was dead silent, it came out way louder than intended.
For a second, Asher thought he was about to get murdered.
But instead—
Everyone burst into laughter.
