The previous plot hole about Carol not knowing who Green Lantern is has been filled. I apologise for such a stupid mistake.

(3rd Person POV)
*BAMM BOOOM*
The Korugar people are shooting at the two lanterns in the sky. Hal could feel their desperation and hate for Sinestro. He wasn't certain what exactly had happened on Korugar since not one Universe was the same in DC, but he knew that no matter the details, Sinestro wasn't a benevolent Green Lantern and had abused his power. Unlike Sinestro, who was losing his cool and dodged the attacks, Hal didn't move from his spot. His defence was far higher than anything they could attack him with here on the planet.
"What is this, Sinestro? You told me that your people love you, so why this attack?" Hal asks, totally calm and collected. It is impossible to make Hal falter.
"They ... they cannot be doing this ... it has to be some form of mind control. It has to be that. I had them so well trained!" Sinestro shouts and creates a large fan, blowing the Korugarian away who were shooting at them. Hal appears behind him and grabs his shoulder.
"What do you mean, trained?"
"Trained! As the word says, I made sure they would never do this and yet-"
"These are not experiments to train, Sinestro! These are sentient beings, capable of thought, independent thought. You can't restrict their freedom."
"They are sentient, indeed. The most dangerous organisms in the cosmos!"
Sinestro says and swats Hal's arm away. He faces his fellow Lantern and looks at him angrily.
"Groups of individuals tend towards disorder and disorder ends in chaos. And it has begun all over again."
"So this is not the first time? Explain."
But Sinestro doesn't bother with Hal anymore and instead turns around and swats away the people who are attacking. He has lost his cool entirely and is fully enraged, unlike what a Green Lantern would be.
"Show yourselves! Whoever is corrupting my children's love - whoever is spreading this chaos - I WILL FIND YOU!"
He creates bulldozers to flatten the area around him, crashing through buildings and speaking nonsensical words as if he were possessed. He feels betrayed, but betrayed by people whom he ruled with tyranny.
*CRASH*
*BOOOOM*
Hal observes Sinestro. After a moment, he has had enough and stops the debris from falling on the people. He encases all the debris in bubbles and moves them to the side safely.
"Enough, Sinestro! You are killing your own kind."
"My kind! I wasn't here for them, but I will fix it! I will fight the chaos!"
If Hal weren't there, the capital of Korugar would be in ruins right now. He makes sure that everyone is well before turning back to Sinestro. The man appears to have lost all reason and is about to use a gas that he has created to 'turn them back'. But he doesn't allow that. He makes a series of chains and captures Sinestro, stopping him from spreading the gas.
"I said enough of this. You need to regain your grip. These people, no matter what they did, don't deserve to be killed indiscriminantly. We will get to the bottom of this."
"My grip? I am about to regain my grip. The grip which I lost because I was wasting time training you!"
"I don't care. We will get to the bottom of this and do this the right way."
"You will not understand; how could you?"
Hal doesn't care and lowers themselves. He then walks forward and looks around. His armour changes, and his floating chair appears, together with his helmet. Hundreds of cranes and lorries appear, together with thousands of men who start working immediately. He observes the process from his chair and coordinates all of it, repairing the damage Sinestro caused to the capital of Korugar.
After he is finished, he lowers himself and removes the helmet again. He walks forward and bows lightly to the woman who is obviously in charge.
"Greetings, my name is Hal-"
"Keep firing! Hit me if you must! Fire!"
"Please stop, madam. I mean you no harm. Would you please explain to me what happened here?"
"You'll never stop us! You'll never break our spirits again!"
"Break your spirits? Is that what happened?"
"Torture me - kill me - I will tell you nothing!"
"Torture you?"
"We will fight until you've killed us all! If you want to rule this planet, you'll have to rule a lifeless husk!"
"So it is true then? Did Sinestro do this to you?"
"Silence! You know nothing; all of this was to bring order to the Sector and nothing else." Sinestro interjects.
"Order! Order! How that word has burned in our ears! How it has weighed down our spirits! I will never be oppressed by it again! Never again!"
Hal looks at the young woman. To think that Sinestro went this far as to make her this desperate and willing to die. He understands the situation and looks at Sinestro with a disappointed expression.
"Do you see what you did, Sinestro? This young woman is willing to give up everything for freedom. You have gone against the code of the Green Lantern Corps and violated various universal laws. I will have to notify the Guardians, and you will be imprisoned."
Sinestro looks at Hal angrily. He couldn't understand that he who had taught Hal everything he knew would stand against him.
"You don't understand this. You are a fledgling, a worm in the grand scheme of the Universe. You can't understand what is going on here. I bring order to these people, their chaotic existence. I am a Green Lantern, and as such, it is my duty to eradicate those who would stand against peace."
"But not by becoming a tyrant. You are a servant of peace, not its executioner. You have gone astray from the path of Green. This has nothing to do with your duty and everything to do with fear. Look at these people, Sinestro. They are afraid of us. Of us both. You have failed the Corps, and I will have to take you in."
Sinestro stops for a moment and looks at the Earthling. He doesn't believe what he's hearing right now. The first human to ever become a Green Lantern, and only because Abin was desperate, at least in Sinestro's mind, he dared to stand against him —the greatest Lantern in the Universe. That is too much for him.
Sinestro shoots a powerful beam of green energy towards Hal. Hal points his hand forward and blocks the attack with his bare hand.
"Very well, Sinestro. I will take you in; there is nothing you can do about it."
"So you think!"
Sinestro attacks again. A large claw appears and shoots forward, attacking Hal and aiming to crush him. But that's not the only thing he wants. He wants to cause as much destruction as possible, to put Hal between him and the damage, and make him lose his will to fight, and therefore, his life. A large shield appears before the claw, blocking it from crashing on the ground. Hal acts fast. From his feet, green energy starts to spread, coating everything it touches with a protective green layer.
"RAH!"
Sinestro attacks again. He creates various projectiles and aims them all at Hal, trying to stop him from doing whatever he was doing. But he is fighting against Hal Jordan, the new Hal Jordan, a Warhammer 40k enthusiast and, therefore, a true nightmare for anyone going against him. Behind Hal, the ground opens up. And from it, an automated weapons platform of unusual design rises —a Necron Sentry Pylon.
[Picture]
Arcs of green metal, equipped with weapons arrays with power so great as to be almost beyond comprehension. And this wasn't even Hal's greatest effort. Sentry Pylons are a series of autonomous energy weapon constructs which display both formidable resilience and adaptability, as well as firepower capable of destroying heavily armoured vehicles and aircraft at extreme range. Their primary role is tactical artillery support and air-defence units. Hal settled for Gauss Exterminators, magnetically based weapons that break down the target into its component molecules layer by layer and attract the molecules back to the gun at incredible speed. This creates a flaying effect.
*FWOOOOM*
The Sentry Pylon fires at the projectiles fired by Sinestro, and the strangest thing happens. The green beam hits the projectile, and, similar to a true Gauss Weapon, the projectile begins to dissolve into its smallest component, which is the emotion of will, and travels back to be absorbed by the Pylon.
*FWOOOOM* x14
Sinestro looks at the Sentry Pylons in shock. But he isn't given time to ponder the situation as Hal attacks him with weapons of his own. Large tanks appear, and they start shooting him from the ground. They move forward, attacking him one after the other.
[Picture]
Sinestro creates a large shield to protect himself. He flies into the sky, dodging the projectiles and creates a large tantacle. A monstrous tentacle descends on the ground, crashing on the tanks and entangling them, lifting them from the ground. However, Hal responds to this by creating a massive Megalodon that shoots from the ground, which has been covered in Hal's green energy. The Megalodon bites into the massive tentacle and breaks the construct. Sinestro shouts and is hit by the tank's projectiles again. He clenches his jaw and focuses more of his willpower to create something larger.
He creates a big version of himself and positions himself inside it. He looks at Hal bellow and laughs condescendingly.
"What now, Hal Jordan? What will you do when faced with your inevitable demise? I am the best there is in the Green Lantern Corps; I revolutionised the use of the Green Spectrum. I can create anything while you stand on the ground and shiver. What do you have to show?"
"Please ... this is not power of your creation!"
Hal places his two hands together. Not because he has to, not because it makes his next move easier ... but because he's always wanted to do this.
Sinestro scoffs and pulls his fist back. The large construct of himself mimics his movement and shoots forward, but just as he is about to hit Hal, he stops. Something is approaching from above. He looks up and sees it. A monstrous meteor has pushed through the clouds and is descending on the city, with Sinestro at its epicentre. The man's eyes widen as he realises he has little chance of escaping. He turns around and tries to shoot through the sky to escape the crash, but he can't. The ground underneath him had turned fully green, and Hal had given it the property of quicksand, trapping the large construct of Sinestro.
"Jordan!!"
Sinestro turns around and sees the meteor approaching. He clenches his teeth and puts his hands up, trying to stop the meteor from crashing on top of him. The massive meteor presses him down further and further, and Sinestro uses the maximum of his willpower to resist plunging into the quicksand and being buried by the large rock. He begins to sweat and reaches his limit, but thankfully, he finally manages to stop the meteor's descent.
"Haaa ... haaa ... haaa ... I told you ... haaaa ... I can do any-"
"Impressive, Sinestro. You are quite a capable Lantern." Hal says, looking at the scene in front of him. It looks like Atlas is holding up the world to him, and he has to say that he likes the artistic feel to it.
"But tell me ... what are you going to do about the second one, Sinestro?"
At that moment, a second meteor, even larger, breaks through the clouds and collides with the first one.
*CRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSHHHHHHHH*
*BBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM*
The earth shakes, and the people of Korugar scream and run away, thinking they are in mortal danger. Little do they know, they never were in any danger whatsoever. Hal had taken care of it from the very beginning of the fight.
...
Silence has settled over the city. Dust slowly settles and allows everyone to see again. They notice, to their great shock, that nothing happened to them. No buidling was damaged, not a single person was hurt. They all looked in the direction where Sinestro was hit, as the same couldn't be said about him.
"Urgh ... you ... mongrel ... dare ... to hit me ... with a METEOR!!"
Sinestro manages to slowly stand up again. He has definite concussions and broken bones, but his willpower is impressive. He sees the glow of Hal's ring dimming greatly and smiles cruelly.
"So it happened ... your pathetic attempt of saving all these people ... has used up all the energy in your ring. What now, Jordan? WHAT NOW?!"
"You see, Sinestro. I will be the one to take you to Oa for trial. But to take you down ... that privilege belongs to the people of Korugar."
"What?"
"Look around you. Do you not see it?"
Sinestro looks around and realises that not only has everything been covered with green energy, the green energy Hal used to protect them, but it also encased each and every person.
"Wait ... this means..."
"Indeed. Temporarily, every person in this city has the power of a Green Lantern. You will be taken down by those people whom you oppressed. They will free themselves."
"Pfft, pathetic. Do you think I would be scared of-"
*BANG*
A fist hits Sinestro in the face. It is the young woman who led the revolt against Sinestro. Her dedication and will are the strongest.
"I am Katma Tui, and you will never rule us again!"
She creates a large bat and hits Sinestro with it. As she starts to attack, so do the others remember their pain and join her in pummeling their former tyrant. Sinestro tries to defend himself, but whenever he deals with one, three more attack him and vent their frustrations. The already broken man has no chance and is pummeled by them.
After they are finished, a while later, Katma Tui approaches Hal. She doesn't say anything at first but then nods her head.
"It seems we were under the wrong impression that your order was one of evil tyrants and conquerors. What you did here today will forever be remembered by the Korugarians."
"You honour me, but I did only my duty. You were always meant to be free; I merely saw to it that you regained it."
"No. You gave us back more than just our freedom. You gave us hope. And that is an invaluable gift. Thank you."
"Hope, huh ..."
