Mathias couldn't help but let out a frustrated sigh as he stood in front of the manager's office. He had been through this a hundred times before, yet every time, it never failed to make him feel uneasy. The heavy wooden door loomed before him, its polished surface reflecting the dim light from the hallway. Miguel stood beside him, his usual impassive expression barely moving, as if he were a statue.
"Let's get this over with," Mathias muttered, pushing open the door and entering.
As soon as they stepped inside, the familiar scent of leather and paper filled the air. The office was spacious, with walls lined with shelves of books, documents, and awards. Behind a large, polished oak desk sat Mr. Silva, the manager. A middle-aged man with short, neatly combed hair that was beginning to show signs of graying, Mr. Silva wore a crisp suit that gave off an air of authority. His glasses sat low on his nose, and his sharp, calculating eyes met theirs with an almost predatory gleam, as if he were assessing them.
Beside him stood another man. Being thé sale wright as Mathias, with dark brown hair and a strong, athletic build, this man seemed to radiate confidence. He was dressed in a tailored black suit, the kind that suggested wealth and influence. His sharp jawline and well-defined features made it obvious that he took care of his appearance. The man exuded an air of calm assurance, his gaze focused but not invasive.
"Ah, Mathias, Miguel," Mr. Silva greeted them warmly, his voice smooth yet commanding. "I trust you've both been well. Please, take a seat."
Mathias glanced at Miguel, who had remained standing, his eyes cold and distant as usual. Miguel's face was unreadable, as if the entire conversation was just another mundane occurrence for him.
Taking a seat across from Mr. Silva's desk, Mathias leaned back slightly in his chair, listening as Mr. Silva beginning his praise.
"I've seen the reports from your internship experiences. Impressive work, both of you. I must say, I'm not surprised," Mr. Silva continued, his voice filled with the kind of admiration that could be felt even without direct contact. "Out of all the students in the program, you two are truly exceptional."
Mathias turned his gaze to Miguel again. Even now, Miguel remained an enigma. His stoic expression never wavered, never giving away what he thought of Mr. Silva's words.
Mr. Silva continued, "And while I know you two are quite different in your fields of study, the results are equally remarkable. Mathias, with your entrepreneurial drive, and Miguel, with your deep understanding of psychology… it's clear that the both of you are already on your way to something great."
Mathias let out a soft grunt, remembering his internship experience. He was Someone with a big ego and this little of praise was norhing to him biterrois after a event in his life he had to admit, the praise felt good. Despite the fact that he had been reluctant to take the internship at first, he had eventually succeeded, albeit with some help from Miguel.
Mathias had been forced to learn that practice and theory were often worlds apart. He had been excellent in the classroom, his mind sharp and innovative, but when it came to applying his knowledge, he had stumbled. It was Miguel who had given him a push—his father's connections had gotten him the internship, and while Mathias had started off shaky, he had managed to survive. With Miguel's psychological insight, he had made it through the first hurdles.
Thinking back, Mathias felt a hint of gratitude toward Miguel's father. "Thank you, Mr. Owen," he thought quietly, the memory of the assistance his friend's father had provided still fresh in his mind." This man
Is an angel and he is a great man he wi go to paradise I'm sure of it"
Mr. Silva continued, "Now, I'd like to introduce you to Mr. Eric. He was in charge of your internship, Mathias. I'm sure you've heard of him."
Mathias had indeed heard of him. Eric was known throughout the company as a meticulous and efficient professional. He was someone who expected nothing less than perfection from those under his wing. His sharp demeanor and business acumen made him an invaluable asset to the team.
Mathias looked up at Eric, who was now stepping forward. Eric's dark brown hair was neatly styled, and his eyes gleamed with quiet confidence. He was tall, with a broad build that spoke of both strength and discipline. His face was sharp and well-defined, the kind of face that commanded respect. There was a warmth to his smile, but it felt almost too calculated, as though he were sizing Mathias up even as he greeted him.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mathias," Eric said, extending a firm handshake. "I've heard a lot of good things about you. You've done well during your internship, and I wanted to personally speak with you about your progress."
Mathias nodded, shaking Eric's hand. The firm grip was a subtle reminder of the kind of person Eric was. Every movement he made seemed deliberate, every word chosen with care.
As they exchanged pleasantries, Mathias felt a subtle unease settle in his chest. He couldn't quite place it, but something about Eric felt… off. The man's attention to detail was undeniable, but there was something lurking beneath the surface that made Mathias wary.
Just then, Mr. Silva stood up, his gaze shifting to Miguel.
"Miguel," Mr. Silva said, his tone changing slightly. "You're coming with me. We need to discuss a few things regarding your internship results."
Miguel didn't respond verbally, but his eyes flicked to Mathias for a brief moment. A single, fleeting glance that was enough to convey everything. Mathias nodded slightly, understanding
With that, Miguel followed Mr. Silva out of the office, leaving Mathias alone with Eric.
Eric leaned back against the desk, folding his arms as he gave Mathias a thoughtful look.
"You've made quite the impression, Mathias," Eric said, his voice smooth. "I can see why Mr. Silva is so impressed with you. But, as with any great talent, there are always areas that need improvement."
Mathias raised an eyebrow, feeling the weight of Eric's words.
"What do you mean?"
Eric smiled again, this time a little more openly. "You've done well in your internship, no doubt. But there's always room for growth. I think we could do some more advanced work together, if you're interested."
The offer was tempting. Mathias couldn't deny that he had learned a lot from his internship, and the chance to work with someone like Eric could be invaluable. But the feeling of unease continued to nag at him.
"We'll see," Mathias replied, his voice cool. "I'll think about it."
Eric's smile didn't falter. "Of course. Take your time."
Mathias stood up, nodding in acknowledgment. As he turned to leave, he felt Eric's gaze on his back, but he didn't look back.
The door clicked shut behind him, and he exhaled. He didn't like how the meeting had ended, but it wasn't as if he could do much about it.
Walking down the hallway, his thoughts returned to Miguel. He knew that his friend's internship had been… unusual, to say the least. But there was no doubt in Mathias's mind—Miguel was someone he could rely on, someone who always kept his emotions in check.
"When he finish I will ask him about this eric he always have this thing to see though of people"
