Mathias stood in front of the university gates, staring at the massive iron structure with an expression that blended irritation and exhaustion. He ran a hand through his dark, silken hair, exhaling sharply.
"Shit, I've really had it."
His admission was muttered under his breath, but it carried the weight of frustration accumulated over years. He wasn't supposed to be here—not in a place so mundane, surrounded by people so ordinary. And yet, here he was.
Taking a deep breath, he stepped through the gates, his long strides making it seem as if he were gliding rather than walking. The moment he entered, the usual reaction unfolded. A ripple passed through the crowd. Students who had been engaged in conversations fell silent, their gazes snapping toward him as if an unspoken force compelled them to look.
Whispers started spreading like wildfire.
"It's him…"
"I swear, he's not human. How can someone look like that?"
"So unfair. Even the guys look at him with envy."
Mathias barely reacted.. He had grown used to this—envy from men, admiration from women. It was an endless cycle that followed him wherever he went.Well for him that was nothing becausein terms of looks, not a single human could rival him in this university or even in this natural world.
Moving through the halls, his sharp golden eyes searched for a particular person.
Miguel clayton
The irritation in Mathias's chest grew with every step. He was in no mood to play games today.
"Where the fuck are you, Miguel?" he muttered under his breath, his voice laced with frustration.
"Right behind you."
A chill ran down Mathias's spine.
His body reacted instantly, instincts honed through countless experiences kicking in. He pivoted sharply, jumping back to create distance between himself and the source of the voice. His red eyes locked onto the one person who could make him react like this.
Miguel stood there, his posture relaxed, his expression unreadable.
"Damn it miguel you scared the shit of me"mathias exclaimed his face showing surprise at miguel.
"Scared you?" Miguel tilted his head slightly, his voice devoid of amusement, yet sharp with challenge. "You always claim you can sense when someone approaches, even in your sleep. And yet…"
Mathias's heart pounded. He had heard nothing. Felt nothing.
Not with you," he admitted, his voice carrying a rare hint of unease. "You're… weird."
Miguel didn't react. His blank, abyss-like eyes remained fixed on Mathias.
"I've been following you for two minutes."
Mathias stiffened. Two minutes?
"You didn't even notice," Miguel continued, as if stating a fact. "You were walking like someone possessed."
"Two minutes…" Mathias repeated in disbelief. His face paled slightly.
It was strange Mathias couldn't be fooled well not by human. But Miguel—Miguel had slipped past them like a ghost.
The tension between them lingered, unspoken thoughts hanging in the air like a fog. Then Miguel casually changed the subject.
"Anyway, glad to see you finally dragged yourself out of bed," he said. "You almost look well."
Mathias forced himself to push aside his lingering unease. Almost look well? That was rich coming from Miguel.
"Speak for yourself. You still look as good as ever," Mathias shot back, his voice returning to its usual confident tone.
He approached miguel and began to compare him. If mathias was a god Miguel, however, was an enigma. He wasn't ugly—far from it—but to call him beautiful like Mathias would be a lie.At a glance, Miguel was unremarkable. He stood at 1.70 meters, neither tall nor short. His frame was lean, bordering on too thin. His facial features were neither striking nor dull—just average. If someone were to describe him, they might say he was 'forgettable.'but for mathias he knew that miguel could me more after all he have seen it when miguel was with his father. He have see his face being well...totally cute.
And yet, there was something undeniably eerie about him.
His eyes.
Cold. Empty. They devoured light like a black hole, bottomless and devoid of warmth. Looking into them for too long made people uncomfortable, as if they were staring into the abyss itself.
Mathias took a step closer, scrutinizing him.
"Still so small," he scoffed.
Miguel's expression remained unchanged.
"I'm not small. You're just too tall."
A smirk tugged at the corner of Mathias's lips.
"What are you talking about? You're medium-sized at best," Mathias said, his tone playful.
Miguel raised an eyebrow.
"Medium size? Do I look like a girl to you?"
"Well," Mathias said, rubbing his chin as if giving it actual thought, "your build is pretty delicate. Maybe a bit too pretty for your own good."
Miguel let out a short breath, not quite a sigh, but close.
"For God's sake, what the hell tou. Amd your families have been eating?"
Nothing in particular," Mathias replied, shrugging. "Just some *juices* with vitamins in them... Well, my dad doesn't really need them, so—"
Miguel gave him a flat look.
"Better not," Mathias interrupted himself, realizing he was about to reveal something he shouldn't.
A heavy silence settled between them.
Miguel, as always, didn't push further. That was one of the things that made him different from everyone else. He never pried. He never asked unnecessary questions.
"Anyway," Miguel said after a moment, "the manager's waiting for you."
Mathias exhaled.
"Right. Let's get this over with."
The two of them walked side by side, their steps in sync despite their differing builds.
As they moved through the university halls, students continued to whisper, but Miguel paid them no mind. Mathias, though used to the attention, still found it exhausting at times.
He cast a sidelong glance at Miguel.
For all his unsettling qualities, Miguel was the only person Mathias considered a friend. Perhaps because he was the only one who never looked at him with awe or jealousy. The only one who treated him like a person rather than a god.
That, in itself, made Miguel even stranger than his abyss-like eyes.but deep down Mathias could understand miguel he could know that miguel was a good person but just his look make him distant and too miguel could understand him,no, he could understand everyone, every people that miguel look he could see though of them.
But strangely Mathias have a strange feelingAnd Mathias couldn't shake the feeling that one day, that strangeness would come back to haunt him.
And again this sensation in his body reappeared.
