Chapter 24 - Chapter 22: The Aftermath of Indulgence

The morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the spacious bedroom. A soft breeze wafted in, gently ruffling the sheets. Yun Yun stirred slightly, her body aching in ways she had never experienced before. The mere thought of moving sent a dull soreness spreading through her limbs, reminding her of the intense events of the previous night.

She groaned softly, shifting ever so slightly beneath the covers, only to immediately regret it. Every inch of her body felt like it had been tested beyond its limits. Her legs felt like they had turned to jelly, and her waist throbbed with an unfamiliar sensation.

And then she realized—she couldn't move properly.

A fiery blush crept up her cheeks as the memories of last night rushed back. Her fingers gripped the sheets as she bit her lip, trying to push down the embarrassment welling up inside her. She wanted to bury herself under the blankets and never come out.

Just then, the sound of approaching footsteps echoed down the hall. Before she could even attempt to sit up, the door swung open, revealing Kaiser with his usual confident smirk. His tail flicked lazily behind him as he carried a tray of food with one hand, looking entirely too pleased with himself.

"Good morning, my dear Yun Yun," he greeted smoothly. "Breakfast is ready."

Yun Yun, still lying there motionless, turned her head toward him, her glare sharp enough to pierce through steel.

"I can't move," she said flatly.

Kaiser's smirk faltered for just a moment before he cleared his throat. "Ah… well, that's… uh… understandable."

She continued glaring, her expression unwavering. "You're the reason I can't walk."

He had the audacity to scratch the back of his head and chuckle. "I may have… overdone it a little."

"A little?!" she snapped, attempting to sit up—only to immediately fall back with a pained hiss. Her body refused to cooperate, and the soreness only intensified.

Kaiser winced. "Okay, maybe more than a little." He set the tray down on the nightstand before stepping closer, looking down at her with an apologetic expression. "I got a little carried away, but in my defense, you didn't stop me."

Yun Yun grabbed the nearest pillow and threw it at his face. "Shameless!"

Kaiser caught the pillow with ease, grinning. "Come on now, don't be like that." He sat on the edge of the bed, reaching out to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "At least let me help you eat."

Yun Yun huffed, but her stomach betrayed her at that moment, letting out a soft growl. Her entire face turned crimson as Kaiser burst into laughter.

"Well, that settles it. You're hungry," he teased, lifting the tray onto his lap. "Here, I made all your favorites."

She eyed the food warily, still debating whether she wanted to stay mad at him. The aroma of freshly cooked dishes, however, was far too tempting to resist. Sighing in defeat, she allowed him to feed her a bite of warm, savory chicken.

Her taste buds were instantly overwhelmed by the rich flavors. She chewed slowly, savoring the meal. "This is… really good," she admitted begrudgingly.

"Of course it is," Kaiser grinned. "I'm amazing at everything."

Yun Yun narrowed her eyes at him. "I take it back. You're unbearable."

Kaiser merely chuckled, continuing to feed her, his tail gently brushing against her leg every so often. Despite her initial frustration, she had to admit—it was oddly nice being taken care of like this. Even if the reason she needed to be taken care of was entirely his fault.

As they continued their meal, the cub peeked its head over the edge of the bed, sniffing at the food before nuzzling against Yun Yun's side, curling up against her warmth.

Kaiser watched with a fake pout. "You know, I'm getting really jealous of how much that little furball loves you."

Yun Yun smirked for the first time that morning. "Maybe it knows I'm more dependable than you."

Kaiser gasped dramatically, clutching his chest. "That hurts, Yun Yun. Right here." He pointed to his heart.

She rolled her eyes, finally starting to relax. Maybe, just maybe, this morning wasn't all that bad after all.
