The first rays of morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow over the room. The air was thick with warmth, the remnants of the previous night still lingering between the sheets. Yun Yun stirred slightly, shifting under the blanket as a deep sense of drowsy contentment settled over her.
Then she realized something—an arm was wrapped around her waist, firm and unyielding. A heavy warmth pressed against her back, and a soft breath tickled the back of her neck. Her eyes fluttered open, taking in the unfamiliar setting, and then everything from the night before came rushing back in a hazy blur of heat and whispered names.
Her face immediately flushed.
Kaiser.
She was in his bed.
And he was still holding her.
Yun Yun stiffened, torn between attempting to slip away unnoticed or confronting the situation head-on. But before she could make a decision, a deep, drowsy hum rumbled from behind her.
"Mmm… why so tense?" His voice was thick with sleep, his hold tightening as his tail lazily coiled around her leg, refusing to let her move.
She swallowed hard. "L-Let me go."
Kaiser exhaled through his nose, clearly amused. "You didn't seem to mind last night."
Yun Yun's entire body ignited with embarrassment. "T-That was—" She cut herself off, unwilling to acknowledge his teasing. Instead, she struggled against his grip, but his strength was ridiculous. The more she wiggled, the more he seemed to enjoy it.
Kaiser chuckled, his voice still groggy. "You're so soft in the morning."
Her glare could have burned through solid rock. "And you're insufferable."
He hummed again, clearly unbothered. His grip loosened slightly, but before she could take the opportunity to escape, he pressed his forehead against the back of her head, his voice lowering to a murmur. "Stay a little longer."
Yun Yun blinked, momentarily caught off guard by the unexpected gentleness in his tone. Her heart stuttered.
This man was dangerous.
But before she could contemplate the meaning behind his words, her stomach betrayed her by letting out a loud, unladylike grumble.
The silence that followed was deafening.
Then—
Kaiser burst into laughter.
Yun Yun, now burning with humiliation, tried to shove him away, but it was useless. He was too strong, too comfortable in his amusement to be budged.
"Oh, this is priceless," he said between laughs. "You sounded like you were ready to fight me, but in reality, you're just hungry."
"Shut up!" Yun Yun hissed, trying to bury herself beneath the blankets to escape the moment.
Kaiser grinned, finally releasing his hold on her as he stretched. "Alright, alright. I'll make breakfast."
She peeked from beneath the covers, watching as he sat up, his hair a mess, his tail flicking lazily behind him. He looked far too pleased with himself.
Yun Yun scowled, refusing to acknowledge the warmth still lingering in her chest.
This was going to be a long morning.
