Chapter 6 - 6-Arrived

The Moridrange mountains were never ending until it stopped for a valley entrance about one mile long. This was where the entrance to the city was at. The valley was protected by a giant wall, bigger and thicker than the one protecting Fluxis city. The wall connected from one mountain to the other, like a great seamless barrier. There were giant turrets on top of the wall that made the one on the train look like a child's toy.

A middle city's defence is in a different world compared to a minor city like Fluxis.

Going through one of the gates of the wall, the train continued through the valley. The valley continued for tens of miles until it opened up into a basin revealing the city. The mountains created a natural barrier for the city so no walls were in sight.

Enjoying the view of their new home, Vander and Alice were checking out the surrounding area as well.

On each side of the basin, giant lakes resided with waterfalls flowing into them. Mist surrounded the city because of the morning dew. A forest covered the back of the basin, with each of the trees almost half the size of the mountains and as thick as houses.

"Even the beauty of a middle city is something different" Alice noted.

"You can say that again."

Still in awe about the scenic view, they didn't realize the train had arrived at the city's station.

"We have now arrived at Moridrange University City. Please make sure you bring all your belongings with you. Thank you for traveling with us."

Getting their luggage, Vander and Alice exited the train. They needed to figure out where to go, so they decided to ask people for directions.

"Do you know where we check in for Moridrange University?"

Luckily Vander asked only one person and they were able to get the directions they needed. He directed them to the middle of the city.

The front half of the city was for the regular citizens, filled with stores, apartments and other buildings to keep the economy of the city up. The back half of the city was the actual school, containing the dorms, training rooms, classrooms, and many other facilities for students or teachers.

Following the person's directions, Vander and Alice reached the Student Center. A building full of people who can help students with their needs.

The biggest line in the Student Center was for the receptionist checking in students for the school.

Vander and Alice arrived at the university at the prime time, 3 days before the classes started. Many other students just arrived and started to check in too. There were around 20 students already ahead of them.

Waiting for their turn in line, they heard the receptionist assigning dorm rooms.

"Xavier Truth, Rare [Record]. Alright I checked you in, you're assigned to the male 1st Year Alpha Dorms located in the central area of the University."

"Of course. And you didn't need to tell me the location of the dorm. I already knew where it was. Since I was born to be an alpha." Xavier Truth, a male blonde student, with a tall and bulky figure, spoke arrogantly. He then started walking out without looking back.

"Damn, that guy is a douche." One of the students in the line spoke out loud.

Before Xavier went through the door, his ear twitched. He heard what the student said and stopped. He turned around and pinpointed the student who said that somehow.

"Let me hear you say that again." Xavier walked towards the student who called him a douche and pushed him.

"Yeah, you're a douche. And you just proved it." The student answered back.

"Let me hear you say it again." This time Xavier punched the student in the face knocking him out cold. "I thought so."

"STOP! You can't fight if a duel hasn't been approved. I will be reporting you to the school's disciplinary team." The receptionist warned Xavier.

"Go ahead. They won't do anything to me. I'm Xavier Truth, heir to the Truth family." Saying this, Xavier turned around and left again.

The receptionist called the disciplinary team and reported what happened. The team didn't chase Xavier, they only helped the sleeping student, sending him to the infirmary.

Because of the actions of the disciplinary team, the receptionist looked pissed. But she went back to the counter and continued her job checking in students.

"That Xavier dude is scary." Vander whispered to Alice.

"I know. I wonder how strong his Truth family is." Alice replied back.

One by one, students were getting assigned to their dorms, but no one else was assigned to the Alpha dorm.

"Vander Hall, Common [Record]. Ok, you're checked in. You're assigned to the male 1st year Beta Dorms located to the far west of the university. All the way to the outskirts."

"Alice Scar, Common [Record]. I just checked you in. You're assigned to the female 1st year Beta Dorms located to the far east of the university. Also in the outskirts of the university."

Unlike the Alpha Dorms which were right next to their counterparts, Beta Dorms are separated by the whole city.

"Let's go to your dorm first Alice." Vander wanted to help Alice first since the distance between the dorms was huge. In Fluxis, a drive across the city was about 50 minutes with no traffic and that was with a car. But Moridrange city is bigger than Fluxis.

It took them three and a half hours to walk to Alice's dorm. On their way they stopped by a few places. They ate some food at a restaurant and learned there was another currency used in the city, Moridrange University Credits. Or MU Creds for short. These credits can be used for almost anything in the city, and the only way to earn them is through the university.

Vander and Alice also checked on the different training facilities. Some of the ones they found included the basic stats: Strength, Endurance, Dexterity, and Intelligence. They couldn't find the training grounds for the different elements though.

They arrived at the dorms around 1:00 PM. When they were about to enter through the gates for the dorm, they were stopped.

"This is the Female Dorms, no males are allowed. And you, curfew is at 10:00 PM. I'll be checking every night." A woman with a badge that said Dorm Manager on it stopped the duo.

"Ok, I'm sorry. I will take my leave." Before Vander left he turned to Alice. "Alright Alice, I'll head over to my dorm right now. Let's meet at the student center in the morning. I don't think we'll have enough time tonight because of the curfew."

"Ok, I'll see you tomorrow." Blowing Vander a kiss, Alice waved goodbye and entered the dorm.
