"I didn't know that you can speak squirrel language," Alexander said with an awed look.
"No, I don't speak squirrel language but they are intelligent enough to understand human language, I guess," Amara said with a smile.
Others shooked their heads after witnessing this dumb conversation between them.
"Let's go and do our fruit hunting!" Alexander shouted.
"Yes!" Alora joined him.
"Are you sure that they are sane?" Ereza whispered.
"To some extent they are!"
The ground was slippery. Hence, they avoided running, scared that they might fall and end up dirtying their clothes.
"Look, we got ripe mangoes over here," Alexander said pointing toward a mango tree.
"Who's going to climb up the tree? Last time, I climbed. Now, it's either Alexander or Abe or Ereza or-" Aaron didn't finish the entire sentence but looked at Amara and Aurora.
"I don't know how to climb up a tree," Aurora said.
"I do know how to climb up a tree but I don't know how to climb it down," Amara said.
"It's easy to get down. All you have to do is jump in with closed eyes. If you are lucky then you aren't going to break your bones but if luck decides to cheat on you then the chances of you being crippled are high," Alexander smiled like he just told everyone a nursery rhyme.
"You are so intelligent and funny that both brain and laugh decided to cheat on me," Amara clapped her hands with an unamused look.
Everyone chuckled at her reaction while Alexander pouted.
"You don't have to worry. My second older brother will catch you before you fall. He is good at the catching game," Alexander grinned.
Amara's cheeks warmed up, just by the thought of Nicolas catching her.
But it wasn't the blush of shyness, it was the blush of embarrassment.
"Nicolas is going to land in a hospital bed if he decides to catch me. I am also going to break a few bones by this but what's the harm in trying. Being a cripple surely can't lessen down the Alpha's potential," Amara thought.
"I am willing to climb up the tree. And I don't need the Alpha to catch me if I fall but you guys must take the responsibility for me if I break my bones by falling," Amara said looking at everyone.
"Are you sure? You don't have to climb up the tree. I was joking," Alexander said looking nervous.
"I am!"
Nicolas didn't say anything the whole time.
"I will catch you if you fall. Don't worry but be sure to carefully pick up the best mangoes," his lips finally opened and the other's jaw dropped.
"He could have at least said that you don't have to climb up the tree with this long dress but no, he didn't even bother with it. I got it that I would hate if someone looks down on me just because I am a girl but bro, this dress is definitely going to get me in trouble," Amara mentally cursed herself for agreeing.
"Start climbing up now. Best of luck, Amara," Ereza said with a smile.
Amara returned her smile with a forced smile before starting to climb up.
She had difficulty while climbing up because of her dress but she somehow managed to complete the task.
"Pick the juiciest looking ones. That one near your left hand is so big and beautiful looking. It's mine," Alexander shouted.
Amara pulled out the mango and threw it at Alexander who fall to the ground while catching the mango.
An awkward silence was present there before everyone brushed into laughs, including Alexander, himself, who was lying on the muddy ground.
"That was epic,"Ereza said before laughing louder.
Everyone nodded their heads at her words.
Soon, they had enough mangoes to eat.
"Amara, do you need help with coming down? If you are uncomfortable with Nicolas carrying you then I can catch you if you are comfortable," Aaron said with a teasing look.
Nicolas's jaw tightened.
"No need for that. I am sure that Alexander would love to help me," she said giving Alexander an evil smile who had a blank look plastered on her face.
"Sis, I am just a small human. How can I carry you? I don't want to die at such an early age. Why don't you just jump off? I will make sure to take your responsibility if you end up breaking a few bones by that, which I am sure that you are going to," Alexander grinned.
He could feel Nicolas's glares on his skull as if they were more than ready to kill him.
He didn't want to get beaten by his older brother for touching the woman he likes. His life was too precious for that.
He couldn't just sacrifice his life to make the Alpha jealous.
"She definitely isn't comfortable with either of you. Why don't you just jump off? I will catch you, I promise. You don't have to worry about getting hurt," Ereza said giving her a smile.
Amara felt like her heart was beating faster than a car.
Ereza was cold yet so beautiful. She was giving Alora masculine vibes at that moment.
"Push the prince away. I am going to die for the princess. She's so beautiful and cool," she thought.
Amara nodded her head in the affirmative.
She first threw the mangoes for everyone to catch before throwing herself for her potential princess to catch her.
"Don't worry. Just jump in. I am going to catch you. I am good at this," Ereza gave her a cheeky smile while watching Nicolas's reaction from the corners of her eyes.
The Alpha felt like his cousins were hellbound on making him jealous and winning the heart of the girl he likes. It was ok till Aaron but even his sister didn't leave the chance to make his girl like her.
"Tsk, if this continues then she's going to be my sister's wife. Poor second brother. He ended up losing to Ereza," Alexander thought with a sad expression.
*Ba-dump* *Ba-dump*
Amara's heart was beating louder before she finally jumped.
