Chapter 29 - saving them

"I think that we should have tried to make him come with us. He must be feeling sad there alone," Amara said while walking.

"Don't worry. Just wait for a few seconds and he will come here rushing to join us," Ereza said with a chuckle.

"One, two, three and he's here," Aaron said before they heard someone screaming.

"Don't leave me alone. Wait for me. I am joining you all," Alexander was rushing their way.

They stopped for a second and Alexander was in front of them, huffing because of the runnings.

"Told you," Ereza smirked.

"H-how?"

"He's our younger brother and we know him the best. He has always been like this. He would show us attitude first then come running to us the next second," Aaron said with a chuckle.

"You guys are really mean. Just because I am a good human, I continue to tolerate all of you. Otherwise, I would left earlier," he said with a hmph.

Everyone smiled before starting to walk again.

They soon reached the river.

"How are we supposed to dip our legs in when there's no good place for us to sit?"Aurora asked looking here and there.

"There is. Look carefully behind the heavy plants," Amara said pointing toward a few plants.

They were so close that nobody would notice the opposite side if they don't give their full attention.

"There's a sitting bench there as well," Alexander happily said.

"It's not a beach. It's a bridge, you dummy," Ereza chuckled.

"Oh, our most intelligent princess Ereza, how knowledgeable you are. You are the most intelligent people I have seen in my entire life," Alexander said in a sarcastic tone.

"Of course, I am the most intelligent one."

"Calling yourself intelligent is also a sign of a dumb people," Aaron smirked.

"Good going, dumb peoples,"Nicolas clapped his hands with a forced smile on his face.

Amara and Aurora chuckled at the cousin's interaction.

"Shall we take our place now?"Amara asked with a chuckle.

The cousins looked at each other before nodding their heads.

"Bro, none of them are as cold as I thought they were," Amara thought.

They all sat down on the bridge with eyes dipping in the water.

"Ah, it's so soothing. It's as if my legs just got their life back," Alexander said with a pleased look.

"I remember someone saying that he doesn't want to join us," Ereza gave him a teasing look.

"Let the bygones be bygones. Grow up, my sister and let your younger brother enjoy his time," Alexander said closing his eyes.

Everyone else had the same satisfied look on their face.

The water felt soothing to their swollen legs.

A few lily pads were present there. Some of them had lilies while others were empty.

"Ah," Alexander jerked off before screaming.

He took his legs out of the water as fast as he could.

"What happened to you? Why did you scream as someone bites you?"

Everyone looked at him with a worried look.

"I felt like someone just touched my feet. This must be a sea dragon," he said glaring at the water.

"Even though it felt good, you did a wrong thing. You shouldn't touch someone without their permission. Show yourself before I come looking for you and if I have to come myself then you won't like the consequences," he said glaring at the water.

"Wait, something is touching my legs. Don't move. Let me see what it is!" Amara said slowly looking at her feet that were still being touched by something.

The touch was soft and ticking.

She was feeling good yet wanted to laugh at the same time.

"It's definitely a water monster but more than one," she said looking at the cute little fish babies who were busy kissing her feet.

Everyone else started feeling the same thing and realized that it was the harmless fishes, not some water monster.

"What if they bit?"

"They are merely kissing our feet. They won't bite. It's more like messaging our feet. Now close your mouth and let us enjoy this pampering. You can enjoy the same treatment if you want to," Ereza glared at him before closing her eyes.

Alexander fearfully dipped his legs in the water again.

He was nervous yet decided to give it a try.

"They didn't bite anyone. Surely they won't bite me either. There's no harm in trying," he encouraged himself.

Soon after the fishes started kissing his feet.

He slowly relaxed and started to enjoy this pampering treatment.

"Does it feel good? See they aren't biting you," Amara said with a soft expression.

"It does feel good. I shouldn't have pulled my feet out earlier," he said closing his eyes.

They were almost about to fall into slumber when they heard a few noises.

It seemed as if someone was running in the forest and the birds were chirping louder than before as if shouting for help.

They quickly got up and run there.

A few masked humans were targeting the small animals. It looked like they were here to hunt down small animals.

They were targeting two squirrels at that moment.

Amara's eyes widened as she realized that these two squirrels were the same ones as before.

"Don't hurt them," she shouted before throwing two big stones toward those hunters.

They landed directly on their forearms.

She picked up a few more and threw them their way.

They both got hurt in their legs, and arms and looked at them.

"How does it feel to experience the pain you cause to others? But it's too small compared to the harm done by you. Come here and let me show you what real pain feels like," she said with dark eyes.

The hunters ran away as fast as they could with their limping legs.

Everyone was about to follow them but Nicolas stopped them.

"Don't bother following them. I already know who they are. I will catch them after leaving from here. It will only ruin our trip if we go after them now."
