The warrior, Logan, froze momentarily, a natural chill seeping into his bones.
It was something he had felt before. Something every warrior felt constantly.

Axton never cared what his men did. And it was no secret how he despised pale-skinned, weak women like the creepy maid he had pinned against a wall.
So with this thought in mind, Logan wasn't very worried.
Pulling Aurelia with him, he moved away from the wall and lowered his eyes respectfully.
"My lord, I had no idea you'd be passing by the yard at this time. I apologize if my ignorance offends you."
Silence.
A slow drop of sweat trickled down his temple as he held his breath, waiting.
Beside him, Aurelia's heavy breathing filled the quiet air, her heartbeat drumming in her ears as she stared up at Axton, her eyes desperately pleading for help.
Gazing at his cold, unfeeling face, she trembled more.
This man… he really wouldn't bat an eye if his warrior killed her.
