After receiving the task from Nicholas, Jeremy got out to his usual spot. No one really knows this place, only him and his 'teacher'.
It was a relatively close place, just a few blocks away.
Arriving in front of the building, Jeremy smiled at the great design in the entrance. It had a big, modern stand as the name of the store was written on it, 'OG's Electronics.
Instead of the old, crumbling building that Jeremy had always visited while a child, it now was reformed to a whole new building. It was the gift that Jeremy gave the old man who gave him his first computer as well as taught him most things he knows about computers.
The old man's name is Omari George, he thought it would be catchy to put on 'OG' in the store's name as they lived in a black neighborhood and people would feel more attracted to it.
OG was really old, he has about 95 years old. He really is an old monster, because, despite his age, that guy acts like he just arrived in his 50. Although he is not really mobile, he still manages to run around when he gets into his tantrums. His mind isn't really sane, but when it counts, he is trustable, even sometimes, Jeremy thinks that old man does it on purpose, faking not hearing something or just ignoring it.
Most of all, Jeremy has the old man as the father he never had or met.
Even going as far as gifting the store's reformation when he made his first big money. He believed the phrase "When praising the butterfly, don't you dare disrespect the caterpillar." which in this case means his origins.
Getting inside the store with the same silly smile that he adopts every time he comes to OG, Jeremy greeted the teenager attending as the assistant of the store. The teen was wearing the store's uniform, his hair was high top, an oblong face with black skin. He looked tidy and clean, like his momma dressed him, which wasn't far from the truth.
"Hello, Mike. How's everything doing?" Jeremy asked.
"Great, Jay. OG is in the back, for some reason he started to ramble about some sort of bet. I don't know what he is on this time." Said the teen, his voice sounding surrendered by OG's antics.
"Hahaha.. I see he found the sports channel again. He gets like that when the Bulls are winning, trying to bet on the team, he thinks it's the early 90's and MJ is devastating the league." Jeremy said with great laugher.
Mike just shook his head and continued his tasks around the store.
Getting inside the back of the building, Jeremy looked around trying to find OG.
After a few minutes, he found the old man at the building's roof. As always, the old man was doing something crazy. This time, he had his legs curled around an iron pipe, hanging with his head upside-down, his face red from the blood rushing to his upper body.
"Ohhh, for fuuck's sake, OG. Why are you on this shiit again?" Jeremy asked, his expression annoyed, his hands on his hips as if waiting for a response.
"I told you, kiddo. It makes you think better, the brain gets more energy or some shiit. Why are here pulling my leg like a ghost anyway?" The old man answered the first part with a tone like he was the smartest in the room, he then completed the second part like Jeremy was a nagging wife.
The wrinkles on the man's face not showing anything close to his age, he was not wearing a shirt, which showed the surprisingly slightly shredded abs of the old man.
"Ohh, my god. I can't believe it... You take that shit out of a cartoon and think it's for real. Why do I even bother anymore? Whatever, just don't spend too much time or you will pass out like last time. I'm downstairs, I need to rob a bank." Jeremy spoke as he left the roof.
"WAIT? AGAIN?" OG's surprised voice was heard as Jeremy descended the stairs, I smile on his face.
Inside his 'secret base', Jeremy looked at his super-powerful computer setup. It had a quite big room filled with just servers and the CPU, at the desk in front of him, there were five screens, all showing different logs of codes.
Seating on his chair, Jeremy started to type on the keyboard. The terminal in the main screen was being filled at crazy speeds, Jeremy seemingly comprehending it despite the quickness in which the pages changed.
As OG had finally arrived, he immediately pulled a chair to Jeremy's side.
"Yo, kiddo. Whatcha doing? What's that thing about robbing another bank?" OG asked, his voice was eager for details.
"I have a new contract, you could say. His test is for me to rob a bank." Jeremy lied.
"And what you receive back?" OG asked.
"Well, I can't tell yet." Jeremy replied.
OG squinted his eyes as he looked at Jeremy, he could tell something was off, but just shrugged and exited the room.
Jeremy didn't mind the behavior, he was used to it and didn't think much about it.
The plan that Jeremy was going to execute is very simple. There are a few ways to hack a company. Jeremy liked to use the employees. And how to hack the employee? Much simpler.
He used profile searching. The dumber the person, the easier it gets.
His target right now was the IT guy that works in one of the branches of the bank. He is probably useless, as his abilities are not close to good, so he shouldn't see the attack coming but he also has access to their network. This guy also had some personal tastes.
He likes to spend his nights on p0rn websites, and to create a door from there is relatively easy. Jeremy used 'fishing', a type of "social engineering" technique, very common on the internet that makes the victim give the information unknowingly. It can work as the intruder sends a bait, it could be a message, a request to enter the email, or anything like that, and then he gets into the computer through a RAT that gives remote access to the victim's computer.
In this case, the IT guy has an exceptional taste for his p0rn, which makes his content very hard to find, and promoting it to him is the best bait. So after giving the bait, Jeremy collects the key access to the bank's network and gets to the hardest part.
Re-programming the bank's website to make most transfers go to one direct account, and even more masking that influx of money so that people don't realize what is going on.
The good thing though, is that Jeremy had already done something similar, but on a smaller scale, so the only thing he needed right now was to restructure some parts of the code and he would be done. And the way he used that before, was when he hacked a game and made the micro-transactions go direct to his profile in the same game, but only using 50 accounts, this time would be thousands of people sending money in a much more delicate system.
His whole plan was simple and somewhat safe and bold at the same time. He wouldn't need to hold a gun and point it at an employee. Instead, he would make the people give him the money, and he would just withdraw it. He needs the people to transfer because the traces, later on, would be a ghost.
He was not stealing from the people though, Jeremy was making the people take it from the bank as their accounts would still hold the same balance, and the money that was supposed to fund the bank is the one getting stolen.
As in the end, they didn't know what they were doing, and the bank is responsible for keeping the money safe.
The whole thing would come out as an error in the bank's system, they could be able to understand what actually happened but they would need weeks to do so.
In the meantime, the people wouldn't be able to withdraw their money, but just momentarily as the bank would be forced to take loans and pay them, going broke as many wouldn't trust them anymore.
