Chapter 32 - Underlying meaning of events

After Papa John left the Bad Angels, now the owner of all their possessions, he walked to his limousine.

Unbuttoning his suit, he relaxed as he reached for a glass of whiskey in the mini-fridge inside the car.

Suddenly, he realized that his phone was vibrating for an income call. Looking at the number ID, Papa John's expression changed.

"Yes, Nicholas." Papa John answered.

"Can you stop being so salty?" Nicholas complained, Papa John's voice was brimming with annoyance and displeasure towards him.

Receiving a 'humph' in return, Nicholas continued anyway.

"Whatever. Have you seen the news?" At the last words, Nicholas's face had a smile and he showed excitement in his voice.

"What happened?" Papa John asked calmly, and normally this time.

Knowing that John won't appreciate suspense in his mood, Nicholas went straight to the point.

"Check out any major newspaper website in New York. It's big." Nicholas spoke in a fast and agitated manner.

Papa John minimized the call on his phone and checked the Times.

"You see it, right? Yesterday I met with Jeremy, we had a little chatter. His first test under my tutorship was to get some money. I haven't spoken to him yet, but I'm pretty sure it's that kid. I have to admit, he has swagger. Shutting down a whole national bank in less than 16 hours is impressive." Nicholas explained.

Papa John was having a short circuit inside his brain right now. Jeremy did what?

The newspaper showed a headline like "Possible error in the 'Money Corp.' bank's virtual system puts the owners to incoming bankruptcy. Stocks are down 68% in the last 4 hours."

This is impossible right, an error in the system was caused by Jeremy? How could he do that? And in less than 16 hours? What in the world...

"I told you, the kid is special. Thank you for handing him over." Nicholas said as the call hung up.

Papa John was in some type of thinking, his eyes were unfocused, as he seemed spaced out.

He had completely lost on such a genius. Nicholas was playful, but he rarely lied. If this is real, and Jeremy made a whole bank go bankrupt, imagine the money that he gathered? If applied to other areas, couldn't there be much more potential?

And the son of a biitch in Nicholas had to brag about it, as, in the end, Papa John had just delivered such an important piece.

'This is unbelievable.' thought Papa John, shaking his head in frustration.

At Nicholas's side, he was all smiles as he looked at a tv inside the Gary's Table. The clients present at the moment were all looking at the same screen, as the news was shocking.

Nicholas was going to have to compliment his disciple, his accomplishments, truly marvelous.

In other parts of the city, Julius was just looking through his phone as well. He is laying low for now and decided to pursue Nicholas later as he concluded his project.

Right now he was on his way to the University lab that he set up to produce the rest of the drugs with Mr. C.

As he looked at the news, he had been surprised and impressed by its contents. Was this accidental or provoked? If it's the latter, then it is definitely interesting. Deciding to pry a little bit, Julius disked a number, as he started the call, he let it hang until the automatic dismiss came.

After a few minutes, his phone rang, he immediately answered it.

"Hello, Mia?" Julius inquired, his voice unsure if the person that he hoped to speak to was the one who would answer.

"Yo, tough ass. How ya doing? Called about the Money and Corp. shiit?" A feminine voice that carried a heavy amounts of slang responded.

"You are still alive, I'm surprised." Julius laughed as he joked. "I'm great, you? And yes, I called because of the Money Corp." Julius replied, referring to the Money Corp. as the bank company that just got bankrupted.

"I'm doin fine, papa. Ya know, I was surprised at the news. It happened in the middle of the night. I thought this shiit was for real, but then I got info about a possible job, as the syst had been checked by tough people in our domain, so that's the common thinking right now." Mia replied, her voice now carried the mix between straight slang and heavy chewing of gum.

Julius seemed to think for a few moments, as he completed before hanging up the call.

"Thanks for the information. Can you talk to me if the status changes? I will get you a gift next time we meet." Julius said as he convinced the girl at the other end of the phone.

"Yeah, pho sure." She replied, ending the call.

'If this is a planned job, it's going to create huge repercussions, depending on the culprit's objective. The newspaper also mentioned that the money was transferred and scattered through multiple accounts, making it virtually untraceable.'

The physical money, in this case, didn't suddenly vanish, but the amount of their money that got transferred to others accounts was vast, if the Money Corp doesn't pay, the money becomes virtually a ghost, and the culprit can have a huge amount of money for his own without actually owning it. The money stolen is one money, the physical is another money, so the economy will definitely get affected if the money is soon used in large quantities. Better yet, the people who actually own the money don't seem to have their bank account balance altered, they will have to receive that money.

The government can't do much as it is the bank's responsibility, the money now becomes untraceable, and they also can't possibly cover the amount spent.

Julius had a smile thinking in meeting such an individual. If he could, he would befriend the responsible and try to share knowledge and skills.

Sometime later, Julius arrived at the university. Heading to the lab located in one of the basements of the building, he found Mr. C inside the lab room. Wearing his usual ski-like mask to cover his identity and the white medical coat.

He was currently writing on a notebook as he accounted the batch of new drugs. This time around, Julius had asserted some services of the university to deliver the drugs to their personal storage.

"We have completed 94% of our goals. The new setup seems more efficient than the last one. I will keep the production ongoing and we should have the completion of our schedule by the next week." Mr. C said as he kept writing on the notebook, making notes.

Julius nodded.

"I will have the employers know. What about the number of toxins, is it sufficient?" Julius asked, he had a thinking pose as he contemplated the matter.

"We surely will. The calculus proved right, as the amount is about the same we need for completion." Mr. C, the odd man, replied.

"Great. These toxins inside the drugs will definitely create chaos. The question is how much, and how long will it last." Julius wondered.
