Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Entering the World (updated)

I step through the gate, greeted by a vast green landscape and the dense trees of a forest. Behind me, I spot a road in the distance.

"Hey, Jarvis, you there?"

"Yes, Mr. Sora."

"No need for 'Mr.' Just call me Sora. Where are we?"

"We are in the outskirts of the western forest, near Orario City."

"Hmm, good. For now, let's not head for the city—I need to farm skills, abilities, and hunt monsters first to prepare. Right, J?"

(J will be short for Jarvis.)

"Understood. Displaying status now, sir."

DEX: 20

VIT: 20

AGI: 20

None

Resources

WP: 100

Money: 0

As I examine my stats, I notice the WIS (Wisdom) value and feel confused.

"J, why is my WIS like that?"

"Sir, WIS represents your ability to learn and master skills or abilities. Since you possess Instant Mastery for any skill or ability, your wisdom surpasses all limits—hence, the infinity symbol."

I barely contain my excitement. This is so OP, and I love it!

"So, are my other stats normal?"

"No, sir. An average adult typically has only 10 in all stats, starts with 60 HP, and has 10 MP. You are far from normal."

"Okay, okay. I see I have WP. That's the World Points I need to farm for interdimensional travel, right?"

"Correct, sir. Your current status is zero money and 100 WP. However, I must inform you that, since you forgot to request starting equipment, 100 WP was left unused."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Well, sir, you were so focused on character customization that the option was overlooked. Aside from your beginner outfit, you have nothing in your inventory. Apologies."

"It was my fault, no need to apologize. Despite this setback, I see an opportunity here. Tell me—what can I buy right now with 100 WP that would be useful?"

"You have two options, sir: a random skill card or ability, or a skill upgrade card. Since you currently have no skills or abilities, I recommend the skill upgrade card. A random skill card will only give you a Mortal-realm skill, which you could acquire naturally, but the upgrade card could enhance a skill from Mortal to Hero, which is far more useful."

"So, weapons or skill upgrade… Let's hold off on this decision for now. First, let's farm some skills."

I step closer to the forest, finding an empty clearing to begin testing skill acquisition. I start with basic exercises—push-ups, pull-ups, and sit-ups.

A notification appears:

[Skill Acquired]

Fit Body (Mortal Realm) Lv. 1: You are physically fit. Effect: +1 STR, +1 VIT, +1 AGI

[Instant Mastery Activated]

My body strengthens instantly, adapting to my new stats like a true game character.

Fit Body (Mortal Realm) Lv. Max: You are exceptionally fit. Effect: +10 STR, +10 VIT, +5 AGI

"Yes! Yes! YEEES! It works! I'll stand unparalleled in every world—just wait!"

Next, I perform martial arts techniques I trained in my past life.

[Skill Acquired]

Martial Arts (Mortal Level) Lv. 1: Enhances fighting ability. Effect: +5% damage, +5% reaction speed, +1 DEX

[Instant Mastery Activated]

Martial Arts (Mortal Level) Lv. Max: Effect: +15% damage, +15% reaction speed, +10 DEX

"Let's keep farming!"

I focus on movement speed next, sprinting to push past my limits. Another skill unlocks—along with an ability.

[Skill Acquired]

Agile (Mortal Realm) Lv. Max: You are faster than your peers. Effect: +10 AGI

[Ability Acquired]

Rabbit Agility (Mortal Realm) Lv. Max: You are as fast as a rabbit. Effect: For 120 seconds, increase speed by 7% Cooldown: 20 seconds

"My first ability… but did it have to be named Rabbit Agility? Seriously? A rabbit?"

I shake my head. No point in dwelling on meaningless details.

"Hey, J—why does it say +5% speed instead of AGI? And why does Martial Arts say +15% damage and reaction speed, instead of just strength?"

"Well, sir, let me explain—"
