Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Rose's Plans

Marissa squatted, holding her Father's hands.

.

"Dad, you do not need to worry about me, you have trained me personally, and I assure you that I won't get hurt in Bryce's pack," Marissa assured the elder man.

Alpha Kain breathed out. He was aware that his daughter would not suffer any loss. After all, he had personally trained her.

Also, there was no way Bryce would let her be mistreated. But his worries were not unfounded.

She was his daughter, and there was a killer on the loose who had promised to hurt her. There was no way he wouldn't be worried.

Marissa could see the look of worry in his eyes, and she wanted to comfort him.

"If it will make you happy, I would request Bryce to make me continue with my training, that way, I would not be caught unaware even if Rose attacks," Marissa suggested, staring straight into her dad's eyes.

"That's fine by me, as long as you don't relent in your training, then I would feel at peace, Bryce also mentioned that I could visit you whenever I missed you," Alpha Kain stated, patting her hands which were on his.

Marissa parted her mouth, but at the end of the day, she didn't comment about it.

"Bethany wishes to come with me, can she?" Marissa requested.

"Of course, I will feel more at peace knowing she is with you, that's a good idea," Alpha Kain agreed at once.

Since Bethany would accompany her, it would make him feel more relieved.

"Alright dad, I will miss you," Marissa confessed, laying her head on his laps just like she had always done when she was a kid.

"You'll be fine, I assure you," Alpha Kain rubbed her hair with a small smile on his lips.

__________

The next morning, Marissa and Bethany were already prepared. They were about to move to Blood Moon Pack, the most feared pack in all werewolf packs.

Bryce and Marissa stood side by side behind a car.

"I didn't know you had a car," Marissa whispered to Bryce. She was shocked when she saw the car, she wasn't expecting it.

"There are a lot of things which you do not know about me darling, don't worry, we will figure it out, for now, let's wait for your dad," Bryce whispered in return.

Marissa pursed her lips tightly. For some reason, she felt a dull ache in her chest seeing that she didn't have an idea on who her mate was.

While she was wondering about what identity Bryce possessed other than the Alpha of the largest pack, her father appeared.

"Bryce, Marissa," Alpha Kain's voice brought Marissa out of her reverie as she forced a smile on her face.

"Here, you can always reach me if you have any issues," Alpha Kain handed Marissa a small bracelet. It looked rusty, and had a plain design.

"This..." Marissa could not complete her statement as she stared straight into her father's eyes.

"I'm sure you know how to make use of it," Alpha Kain smiled at her.

Bryce was convinced by the exchange, but he did not bother to question them. It was between the father and daughter.

"Of course dad, but don't you think this is too much?" Marissa's voice trembled as she asked.

"There is nothing ever too much for my daughter, I can even sacrifice my life if need be," Alpha Kain confessed, causing Marissa to feel touched, but anxious.

"Don't you dare say that, there will be no situation where you need to sacrifice your life for me," Marissa rebuked his words instantly with tears in her eyes.

"Bryce, she is the only one I have, it's safe to say that she is my world, please protect her," Alpha Kain begged, and Bryce nodded, assuring the Alpha that Marissa was safe in his hands.

"Bethany, I believe I can trust you to keep an eye on her, if she faces any troubles, please inform me," Alpha Kain requested.

"You do not need to tell me Alpha, Marissa would not face any loss, and even if she does, you'd be the first person to know about it," Bethany promised.

"I'll be fine dad," Marissa reassured him, and he nodded.

"Shall we leave?" Bryce asked, and they all nodded, before boarding the car which drove off after Marissa had said her final goodbye.

Alpha Kain didn't step in until the car was out of sight. Beta Calvin who was accompanying him from behind sighed.

"Alpha, you do not need to worry, Marissa is in safe hands," Beta Calvin assured him for the umpteenth time.

"I know, I am just worried about the chaos Rose might ensue, I need you to do something for me," Alpha Kain stopped in his tracks.

"What do you need me to do Alpha?" Beta Calvin questioned, ready to take up the task.

"I need you to find out about Rose's whereabouts," Alpha Kain instructed.

"It will be done," Beta Calvin gave a bow, before walking out of the house.

____________

In a dark room, Rose could be seen resting on the bed while looking up to the ceiling.

"No need to linger around, come in," she sensed that someone was at the door.

The door to the room opened, and Kyle walked in. He squinted his eyes due to how dark the room was.

"I wonder how you stay in this dark place, why don't you try turning on the light?" Kyle asked.

In the dark, Rose raised her left eyebrow although Kyle couldn't see it.

"Don't you forget that I am the queen of darkness, so don't bother about me staying in the dark, instead you should let me know why you are here," Rose's voice was casual, but there was a dangerous edge towards it, and Kyle could tell.

"I just got news that Marissa and Bryce have left the Star Moon Pack, they are currently headed to Bryce's pack," Kyle informed.

Rose instantly sat up as she chuckled, "interesting."

Kyle found it weird seeing her reaction.

"Won't you chase after them? Perhaps, give them a little scare?" He asked. He felt that she acted differently from what he expected her to do.

"That won't be fun, let them enjoy the peace for now," Rose chuckled eerily which confused Kyle.

Sensing his confusion, she clarified, "don't you think it's more fun to attack your enemy when they least expect you?"

Rose played with her hair, "let them settle in --- soon, I'll rip the peace apart," she vowed, her eyes glowing in the dark, causing Kyle to fall to his feet.
