Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Hatred

Kyle looked at her in the darkness.

"What are you planning?" Kyle asked, the feeling of dread slipping into his soul.

"You will find out soon, but for now, I feel they should have fun," Rose smiled creepily, causing Kyle to feel goosebumps rising on his skin.

"If you say so," Kyle could only give in to her words.

"I'm quite famished, you know what to do, you may leave," Rose dismissed him.

During the ride, Marissa bit her lips, staring at Bryce whose attention has been on a piece of document ever since the ride began.

"I want to speak with you," Marissa started, looking at Bryce who had his attention on somewhere different.

Bryce closed the document, turning to look at Marissa who had a serious look on her face.

"What do you want to talk about?" Bryce asked with a soft voice.

"I want to know more about you, you are my mate, yet I have no idea who you are, is it too much for you to tell me who you are," Marissa requested.

"This isn't the right place to let you know more about me, how about we have this discussion when we arrive?" Bryce suggested.

Marissa nodded, although the feeling of curiosity was still embedded in her.

An hour later, they finally arrived at a huge black gate. Bethany gasped on seeing the gate, her lips parted in astonishment.

"This is ten times bigger than the gate at Star Moon," she unconsciously muttered.

"Of course, Blood Moon is the biggest pack, therefore, everything has to be top-notch," Beta Damien who was the one driving, replied to her.

Bethany nodded unconsciously. She had to agree with what the Beta said.

The gates opened up once they approached it, they must have known that it was their Alpha who was making his way in.

The drive to the Alpha's mansion was a long one, and a few minutes later, they arrived.

"Shall we?" Marissa had no idea when Bryce had opened the door for her, but she smiled before placing her hands into his, while he helped her out of the car.

Bryce gave her a small smile to which she returned.

Marissa and Bryce walked into the mansion, hand-in-hand, while the omegas greeted them.

"Greetings Alpha," the omegas sounded in unison.

Bryce stopped in his tracks, causing Marissa to stop as well.

"Listen up, I have an announcement to make," Bryce started while his subordinates paid attention to him.

"After years of searching, I am proud to say I have finally found my mate, you will accord her the same respect as you give me, as she will be your future Luna," Bryce announced, and a discussion broke out between the omegas.

"Bow to your future Luna," Beta Damien sounded from behind.

The omegas did as told.

"Greetings Luna," their voices were loud with respect.

Marissa acknowledged their greeting with a subtle nod, and a smile. She carried herself with elegance, further increasing the respect the omegas had for her.

Bryce nodded, satisfied with the performance, and he walked away with Marissa, aiming to show her the room she will be using.

"Damien, please take Lady Bethany to her room, and ensure she is respected," Bryce instructed, to which Damien nodded.

"Shall we?" Damien asked, and Bethany nodded with the two walking away, not without Bethany giving Marissa a subtle wink.

As soon as the couple walked away, the maids began to discuss amongst themselves.

"I am extremely glad that our Alpha has found his mate."

"Same here, I was starting to think that Eliana would be our future Luna, you know how bad we will end up if she was the one."

"Thankfully, she isn't the one, this Luna looks graceful, she so much reminds me of our late Luna," an elder commented with a nostalgic smile.

"I have no doubt that our pack will flourish under both the Alpha's and the Luna's watch."

"But how would Eliana react when she finds out that Alpha Bryce has found his mate?" One asked.

"I heard she was furious after she found out about it."

"Our future Luna looks familiar though."

"Is it because of the blindfold?"

"Yes, I have heard some rumors about a lady who could turn people to stone just by staring into her eyes, so she goes around with a blindfold to prevent mishaps."

"Do you think she is the one? If she is, then that is scary."

"I think you all have forgotten about the dangers of gossiping about those in power, get back to work immediately," the older lady dismissed them to perform their various duties, while scolding them.

Bryce and Marissa walked into a room. Marissa gasped at the size of the room.

"It's very huge," she commented, impressed by the aesthetic in the room.

But then a frown appeared on her face seeing the colors that were used in the room.

"Black, white, and gray?" Marissa asked, her question confused Bryce who turned to stare at her.

"What do you mean by that?" He questioned.

"I mean, the colors which are used in this room, isn't it too boring?" Marissa asked.

Bryce paused in his tracks. He didn't mind the colors. But he had noticed that Marissa is a fan of elegant colours, proof in the colors used in her room.

"Do you want the room to be repainted? I don't mind, as long as you are happy," Bryce inquired.

Marissa shook her head. She didn't wish to bother him with her silly requests.

"I don't mind the colors, this is your room, I have no right to change the colours, especially since I just moved in," Marissa was against his decision.

Bryce pursed his lips, staring at Marissa who was obviously uncomfortable with the colors. But because she didn't want to annoy him, she decided to be quiet.

Bryce found it cute, and he had to restrain his wolf which was threatening to take over.

He made a mental note to ask one of his subordinates to change the colours of the room after he found out about her favourite colour.

"Your luggage will be coming in soon, for now, I will have to introduce you to the elders, they have been waiting for me to introduce them to my mate," Bryce informed her, and she nodded, pleased with the arrangements.

A few minutes later, Bryce and Marissa walked into a hall which was occupied by old men. Marissa figured that this was the meeting hall, and the elders which Bryce had referred to earlier.

"Greetings Alpha Bryce," the elders rose to their feet, gave a bow, and greeted Bryce with loud voices.

Marissa noticed that they held Bryce in high regards, and she felt proud knowing that he was her mate.

"Please have a seat," after Bryce and Marissa had sat down, he gestured for the elders to have their seats.

"Alpha, we received news that you have found your mate, and she turns out to be the infamous queen of stones, is she the one?" One of the elders asked, pointing to Marissa who became tensed immediately.

"Elder Scott," Bryce growled instantly at the blatant show of disrespect. But Elder Scott wasn't fazed as he gave Marissa a clear look of mockery.

"Alpha, you know how the people will react when they find out that the Luna is a threat to them, why can't you rethink your decision of making her the Luna?" Elder Scott completed.

Marissa swallowed. She never expected to be faced with rejection just after meeting with them.

'Will they hate me?' Marissa conversed with her wolf, Arya.

'Even if they do, you have mate with you, I'm sure he won't tolerate the disrespect,' Arya replied, and Marissa closed her eyes sadly.

She subconsciously turned to look at Bryce who patted her arms, assuring her that he was in control.
