Chapter 2 - Chapter - 1 defiled fate

A figure of staggering height sat on a throne that could only be compared to the heights of several mountain ridges. His stature was equally impressive as he moved with a large, powerful gait. The great being reclined lazily, radiating an unfathomable amount of unknown energy.

The spiritual pressure emanating from him caused nothing but destruction in the surrounding area. Multicolored lights glistened in arrays around his domain, dormant yet vibrant.

One might assume that with such formidable power and stature, he would be unmatched. However, this perception is based solely on our own understanding.

In the context of his race and their beliefs, he was merely average—and that assessment was generous. In our society, such an undeniably powerful being would be considered little more than a meager manager within a corporation. It's a respectable position, but nothing particularly noteworthy.

The being's sole purpose was to cater to the other races:

Gods,

Deities,

Immortals,

Demons, and more.

Many of these entities created their own cosmos, using them as objects of pride or reverence.

Others existed for the opposite reason:

To destroy the worlds of their counterparts.

As such these 'creators' were alluded access from manipulating the very same worlds they tended to and cultivated.

It was an enigma.

For the entity, this discord existed long since its own creation; it had become the norm.

As a result, boredom had long consumed its mind.

[Kane!] yelled another presence of equally if not greater power

Awakened from its daze the entity stared toward the new fellow.

[Yes, superior?] it replied in a half discontent tone

Ignoring the display of disrespect, the fellow spoke.

[I have a new request for you…] [It's from a God, discontent with a current 'wipe out']

[A Wipe out huh] it spoke voicing not towards its superior but more of a musing towards itself

[They're not very common, so who's the requestor?]

[one of the great ones] The fellow spoke with a gulp

Immediately the conversation's tone shifted.

The fellow and Kane understood the severity of the request.

Kane thought about this for several seconds.

Eventually, he took a deep breath.

[hand me the envelope bearing the request] Kane spoke with a cold tone

Compiling, the fellow dropped the golden-encrusted envelope which levitated towards Kane.

Several seconds passed and Kane understood the request as he glanced it over.

[The great one, is demanding a soul]

[Did he mention what type?]

[No, he just noted that the soul should be the first we can find,]

[anything else noteworthy?]

[the great one mentioned that he was to gift the soul with a system centered around his own power] Kane spoke with a beguiled tone filled with envy

[...]

The conversation flowed for several seconds further before the fellow inevitably left leaving Kane to his own devices.

[Damn it]

"What the hell" Alexander internally expressed in a groggy state

He felt void

Or more specifically Alexander lacked sensation.

He felt as if his mind was being forcibly cleansed.

Pain was gone?

He was gone?

Where was he?

How was he?

In fact, who was he?

The existential pain that constantly eroded his mind was gone, the feverish thoughts across his mindscape were blank.

His consciousness was mostly erased except for the slim portion of his personality.

'I'm Alexander langston'

'I'm Alexander langston'

'I'm Alexander langston'

'I'm Alexander langston'

'I'm Alexander langston'

The dormant consciousness lacked self-awareness but sensed that repeating this common phrase was essential for its livelihood.

For its own sake, it continued this desperate protest.

Eventually, his efforts were heard.

[How about you] Kane spoke as he randomly chose a misty substance from the constant current of multicolored hues.

Each soul was its own unique shade, determined by their life their soul's cerulean glint corresponded with

There was no such thing as good or bad.

Such a philosophy can always be altered given the world and race.

And as such Alexander's soul was a neutral grayish yellow.

[memories should be erased..] [check]

[human race…] [check]

[unyielding motivation…] [debatable for this soul but check]

[Tallent] [No, well kinda but this lucky bastard is going to get a system anyway so … check]

The process of check listing Alexanders soul continued for several moments.

Any mal-ailments were to be reported and placed accordingly.

Eventually, Alexanders process was finished.

[the cosmos which the great one wants the soul placed in would be ….] [Atheria?] the entity spoke confusedly

[I don't recall such a world but the great one addressed the coordinates in the request?…]

After some careful deliberation, the entity opted to just heed the request till its completion and deal with the consequences at a later date.

[Go figure,] with these kind departing words the entity placed a sporadic form of sharp crimson energy into the misty substance known as Alexanders' soul

[wish you luck, your going to need it]

"The new king has ascended to the throne!" Bellowed a vacant expressed man wielding an elegantly crafted spear in one hand and the head of an elderly fellow in the other

A stream of crimson stemmed from the decapitated man's body.

The Knight was cladded a regal set of cybernetic silver armor that pulsed with a vibrant shade of yellow in accord with his heartbeat.

He brandished the current regime sigle on his front.

This was one of the many knights who worked for the current king of Polemian's chivalry.

"The old regimes perished, pide yourselves of the lack of tainted blood. The tyranny of this once united nation shall strive back to its zenith!" he expressed with great emotion invigorating the crowd before him.

[These were the introducing lines of the narrative I enjoyed]

Seated in a finely kept park sat Alexander in a daze

The vegetation was abundant finely cut stones bore refuge underneath the constant walking of passerbyers that kept the lively atmosphere stark and fresh.

The air wasn't tainted with the casual smell of smog nicotine trash and other unknown objects.

rather

It was fresh…

"What the fuck just happened!" fumed Alexander in a fright

Utter confusement spawned within his life.

Grasping his hair, Alexander curled his body into a fetal position.

'First, everything went black,'

'Second, it felt like my entire existence was disappearing?!'

"And now where the hell am I!?"

Alexander yelled as he scorged his surroundings with his vision.
