Dylan decided to give it a try.
He pulled a Galleon out of his backpack.
Sure enough, as his mind focused on it, the Galleon disappeared from his hand. When he looked at the system panel, the amount of money he had appeared in the "Money" section.
Dylan felt a surge of excitement. He immediately deposited all the money he had on him, including the pounds his parents had given him, into the system. He even put all the items he had purchased into storage.
"This system is great. I don't even need a space ring to store things, and I won't have to worry about someone stealing them."
The best part was that by storing his money in the system, he didn't need to worry about keeping it in Gringotts. The vaults there weren't easy to access, and every time he used it, there was a cost involved. Dylan certainly didn't want to become a sucker.
As for the item storage, it allowed him to store his possessions however he wished, which was a fantastic feature.
Dylan was quite pleased.
He looked at the newly added amount in the "Money" section and the full item storage. He was already planning to fill it up even more.
He glanced at the next reward.
Things like magical affinity and potion affinity didn't interest him, so he skipped over them.
Next, he looked at the two new sections on the system panel: Wand Customization and Robe Customization.
These weren't under the Wizard Hat icon but were located under the Wand icon.
He clicked on it, and a new page popped up.
——————————
Name: Dylan Hawkwood
Customizable Spells: None
Customizable Wand: 1
Customizable Robe: 1
——————————
The Robe section was still dim, as he had only ordered his robe today and would have to wait a while to pick it up.
After thinking for a moment, Dylan clicked into the Customizable Wand section.
He discovered that this allowed him to pay to set the appearance of his wand. This included, but wasn't limited to, its color, and even the color of the magic it released. He could change all of it.
"This…" Dylan instinctively thought this feature was somewhat useless. But then he reconsidered.
"If I can change the color, could I make it colorless?"
If he could make the magic released from his wand invisible, his various dark spells would be much easier to use, wouldn't they?
He quickly glanced at the price.
"What? Changing the setting costs 100 Galleons each time??"
He couldn't believe it.
Why did a rewards system include something like this? And it was charging for it too!
Dylan looked at the wand he had just bought.
"Well, I'll deal with that later, once I have more money."
Dylan then clicked on the Customizable Robe section, which was still in a dim state. Since he hadn't received his robe yet, the feature wasn't usable, but that didn't stop him from looking at it.
Similar to the wand customization, it allowed him to pay to design his robe's appearance.
What was special about the robe was that once he wore it, he could even modify his own appearance. He could change his hairstyle, the style of the robe, and even apply makeup in various styles.
Like the wand, changing one setting would cost 100 Galleons.
"Typical dress-up section, it really is a gold pit…" Dylan muttered.
Changing a setting meant that if he wanted to, say, change his hairstyle, it would cost him 100 Galleons. The same went for changing his makeup or the style of his robe. And the changes were not permanent.
Meaning if he changed something and then wanted to revert it, he'd have to pay again.
Dylan sighed.
"Anything that can be solved with money is no problem. These two features will be useful later, once I have more money."
Honestly, whether it was changing the wand's appearance or his own, both would be useful for future plans. But the system had suddenly rolled out these features, and Dylan couldn't shake the feeling that—
"Is the system trying to turn me into a Dark Lord and rob all of Gringotts' savings just to spend more money?"
"Sigh, of all the rewards, the one I like the most is that 100 Galleons…" he thought. That was a few hundred pounds, and to earn that back, his family would need quite a while.
"Moo~" Little Coalball, seeing its master go from laughing to sighing, chirped again.
"Are you hungry?" Dylan smiled and pulled out some food.
He didn't dare buy pet food from the Magical Creatures Shop today. He had to ask the owner there about how to take care of Little Coalball.
If he only bought food and not the pet, someone might report him, and he wasn't willing to take that risk.
After feeding Little Coalball, Dylan stored it back in the system's pet space.
"Getting a license isn't that easy. I might as well sleep for now."
With that, Dylan buried his head in his pillow.
The next morning, after waking up, Dylan pulled out the books he had bought from the Flourish and Blotts.
He planned to make the most of the month before school started to study and hopefully learn some new spells.
"I wonder if Harry Potter and I are in the same year."
Dylan didn't think too long about this question. After all, he'd find out once the school year started.
With his mastery of six max-level spells, learning basic beginner spells was almost child's play for him. It would be easy for him to breeze through them effortlessly.
"Levitation Charm?"
After studying it for a while, Dylan tried to make the book in front of him float.
With his wand in hand, he gave a gentle flick.
"Wingardium Leviosa!"
Whoosh!
The magic inside him flowed precisely into the wand, and then released, enveloping the book in front of him.
"Hmm? I did it on the first try?"
Dylan was a bit surprised.
However, before he could celebrate, it seemed that his magic output was too strong, or perhaps he had been continuously channeling magic.
As a result, the book, which only needed a slight amount of magic to levitate, began to tremble slightly.
Then, with a "bang!" it fell back onto the desk.
"Hmm, looks like I need to control my magic a bit more delicately."
This was the first time he had successfully cast a spell, and Dylan couldn't contain his excitement. He eagerly kept trying with the book in front of him.
Moreover, he realized something.
After learning the Levitation Charm, it appeared on his system panel as well.
But unlike other spells, which only showed the name of the spell, this one had a parentheses next to it.
For example, Levitation Charm (3/10).
It seemed to indicate the proficiency level of the spell.
