Chapter 3 - The Legendary Plant

AUTHOR'S POV

I know you all might be wondering why the two females do not have a wolf or why there is no sign of a wolf whatsoever. That is because, according to the werewolf rule of law or the decree of the Moon Goddess—the creator of all werewolves and the mate maker—a female werewolf does not receive her wolf unless she is mated and marked by her destined and fated mate. On the other hand, a male werewolf can rightfully receive his wolf at the age of eighteen. However, if he is an Alpha, he is likely to receive his wolf at birth, though he will not be able to transform until later. Wolves are also likely to take part of their owners' names.

For example, Alpha Leonard's wolf is named Leon, a massive black and hairy wolf who is both cold and dangerous. However, he patiently awaits the arrival of his mate. Beta Rex's wolf is named Dex, also a large wolf, but not as big as the Alpha's. Dex is brown in color, eerily quiet, yet merciless in battle. Alpha Steve's wolf is as big as Alpha Leonard's but has a unique blend of black and white fur. His wolf is known for being sweet, friendly, and calm, a stark contrast to the menacing presence of most Alpha wolves.

OUTSIDE THE HOUSE

AVA'S POV

It was around midnight when Emma and I decided to leave the pack house.

"Bye, brother!" I called out, waving at him alongside Emma.

We were accompanied by five of his most trusted guards as we ventured into the forest. The night was peaceful, the air crisp and fresh. As we walked through the towering trees, the soft rustling of leaves and distant hoots of owls filled the air. The night creatures scurried away as we made our way deeper into the woods.

We marveled at the beauty of nature. The glowing fireflies, the chorus of crickets, and the different species of insects all fascinated us. Exotic flowers bloomed under the moonlight, their petals shimmering faintly.

"Wow! Leaving the pack house was the best idea you've ever had," I exclaimed, my eyes darting excitedly at the scenery.

Emma chuckled. "I know, right? Can you imagine all the things we've been missing? Maybe we should come here more often. What do you think?"

"Yes! I think we definitely should," I replied with enthusiasm.

As we continued our exploration, something caught both of our eyes. In the midst of some thick foliage, a rare and breathtaking flower glowed in the moonlight.

"Oh my goodness, Emma! Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" I asked joyfully, my eyes locked on the mesmerizing sight.

Emma gasped. "If it's the Sunlight Flower, then yes, babe. Yes!"

The Sunlight Flower was a legendary plant known for its beauty and magical properties. It was said to make one's skin glow and shine when applied, a rare treasure among werewolves.

"This is the first time I'm seeing the Sunlight Flower in real life," I whispered in awe. "It's famous for its radiance and is known to be extremely rare."

Emma nodded eagerly. "I also heard that it's not easy to find! This is a crazy opportunity! We have to take it!"

Excitement took over as we dashed towards the flower, but before we could reach it, the guards stepped in front of us, blocking our path.

"Alpha Steve instructed us not to let you cross into the Black Knight Pack's boundary. It is dangerous," one of the guards warned firmly.

Emma scoffed, rolling her eyes. "You can't tell us what to do!"

Before they could react, we pushed past them and ran towards the Black Knight territory, our hearts pounding with thrill and mischief.

BLACK KNIGHT PACK TERRITORY

Just as we reached the flower and bent down to pluck it, a sudden movement caught our attention. A group of men emerged from the shadows, their piercing eyes locked onto us.

With the way they were dressed, I immediately recognized them as the Alpha's warriors.

"Oh no," I muttered, exchanging a nervous glance with Emma.

One of the men stepped forward, his expression unreadable. "What are you doing in Black Knight territory? Are you rogues?" he demanded. "We will have to take you to our Alpha for questioning."

I shook my head vigorously. "We are not rogues! In fact, we are the Alpha's daughters of the Silver Moon Pack!" I declared.

The men chuckled mockingly. "Yeah, that's what they all say. Do you really expect us to believe you, princess?" one of them sneered.

There were seven of them, and I knew we stood no chance against them in a fight. Even if we had the numbers, they were Black Knight warriors, trained to be ruthless.

Before I could think of an escape plan, a familiar voice called out. "Ava! Emma!"

One of our guards rushed towards us, followed closely by the remaining four. I sighed in relief.

"Oh, there's more of you?" one of the Black Knight guards chuckled darkly. "Let's just get this over with."

Without warning, the fight broke out. The warriors clashed, growls and snarls echoing through the trees. Fists met flesh, and bones cracked under the force of the battle.

Emma grabbed my hand. "Ava, this is our chance! Let's get out of here!"

Just as we turned to run, we were suddenly grabbed from behind. Sharp needles pierced our skin, injecting us with a burning substance. Liquid silver.

A searing pain shot through my body as my limbs became weak. Emma let out a strangled gasp before collapsing beside me.

I tried to fight, but my strength drained away rapidly. My vision blurred, and the sounds of the battle around me faded.

The last thing I saw before darkness consumed me was one of our guards staggering to his feet and sprinting back towards the pack. Maybe to get help. Maybe to tell my brother.

Then, everything went black.
