AUTHOR'S POV
At 9 AM, in a beautiful, spacious, and colorful room, Ava could be seen sleeping peacefully. Her chest rose and fell in the rhythm of her steady breathing. The tranquility of her slumber was undisturbed—until a loud voice shattered the silence.
AVA'S POV
"Ava!" Emma's high-pitched scream jolted me awake. I groaned heavily, unwilling to leave the comfort of my bed. With sluggish movements, I sat up, rubbing my eyes as I tried to adjust to the morning light.
Hi, my name is Ava, and as you probably already know, I am the daughter of the late Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack.
After regaining some of my strength, I finally decided to get out of bed. Just as I was about to stand up, my bedroom door burst open, and my best friend barged in.
"Bestieee!" Emma squealed as she rushed toward me with excitement.
"Oh, hi, Emma," I replied, sighing, lacking the energy to match her enthusiasm.
She playfully rolled her eyes and shoved me back onto the bed. "What's with the attitude, babe?"
"Ugh, what the hell is your problem, Emma? Why do you always have to disturb me?" I grumbled as I stood up again.
She pouted dramatically. "You're so hot-tempered! Can't you see I'm just messing with you?"
I didn't respond and instead made my way to the bathroom to freshen up.
"When you're done with your bath, don't forget to come downstairs for breakfast. We're having pancakes today!" she shouted as she exited my room, making sure to slam the door loudly.
I rolled my eyes. "She will never stop being this crazy," I muttered to myself before starting my morning routine.
After finishing my bath, I changed into a cropped top and a pair of baggy trousers. I was never a fan of makeup, so I didn't bother applying any.
DINING HALL
As I walked down the stairs, I spotted my brother, Steve, and my best friend, Emma, already eating.
"Hey! Couldn't you guys wait for me?" I whined as I rushed down the steps.
"Take it easy, princess, or you might fall," Steve cautioned.
I smirked. "I knew you would say that. It's only you who truly cares about me," I teased.
Emma rolled her eyes. "Whatever. You shouldn't have taken so long bathing and dressing up. The food was getting cold, and I can't eat cold food—it's disgusting!" She made a face of pure revulsion.
Steve and I just laughed at her dramatic expression. I sat down and started eating.
"Typical Emma," I said jokingly, and we all continued enjoying our meal.
Once we were done eating, Emma and I took the plates to the sink and washed them before heading to the living room.
SITTING ROOM
We were watching a movie in comfortable silence when Emma suddenly spoke up.
"Hmmm, Steve?" she began, her voice laced with a hint of mischief.
Steve looked at her, already wary. "What is it, Emma?"
"I was thinking about taking a walk outside the pack with Ava," she said, flashing a sweet smile.
Steve immediately shook his head. "No, it's dangerous. I can't let you two wander off alone, especially since our pack is close to the Black Knight Pack. I won't risk you getting hurt."
Emma huffed. "And who said we're going to get hurt? Come on, Steve! It's been so long since we enjoyed the fresh air of nature!" she protested.
I joined in, supporting Emma. "Please, Steve! We'll be careful."
His expression hardened. "No, and that is final."
Emma and I exchanged glances before putting on our best puppy eyes. "Pretty, pretty please?" we chorused, knowing full well that he couldn't resist.
He sighed in defeat. "Fine! But some of my guards will accompany you. And you must return before 2 PM. Under no circumstances are you to cross the boundary of the Black Knight Pack. Understood?"
A wide grin spread across my face. "Thank you, brother! That's why I love you! You're the best!" I cheered as Emma and I both hugged him tightly before dashing off to prepare for our little adventure.
