The atmosphere in the attic room became increasingly tense. No one dared to speak after hearing that question even though it sounded simple, but the demon family couldn't answer it.
Asher walked around the attic room with his arms wrapped around his broad back. The blue eyes focused on the dusty dressing table, the corner of the room had spider webs, and the bed looked like a plywood board.
For a moment he opened the desk drawer then took out several bottles of sedatives and made everyone full in an instant. Angrily, he threw away all the medicine bottles, making Serena even more shocked. What is Asher actually doing now?
"I already know the answer without hearing the answer from you guys again. Serena doesn't deserve to live with you."
Barbara glared. "What right do you have to say something like that?!"
"Barbara, that's enough!" The father snapped, making Barbara shocked.
"Dad, if Asher really marries Serena, I'm sure Serena will make Asher suffer even more."
Aaron shook his head slowly at Barbara. "Just leave it alone, Barbara. We can't possibly prevent their wishes."
Melda grabbed her biological daughter's hand quickly. "Don't complicate the situation. Actually, I'm still curious about how Asher found out that Serena had been locked up in the attic. I still assume Lariette told her husband directly."
Asher raised the corners of his lips again as he looked at this demon family that was finally defeated in an instant just because they pulled out that one deadly ace. "Okay, then, from now on Serena will live at my house."
"Serena, are you sure you want to marry Asher?" Aaron asked firmly.
This time Serena will not be silent because for her, Asher does not deserve to be her shield directly. After all, why did Asher bother to grab her when he would end up killing her one day?
"Yes, I will marry Asher. Actually, ever since Lariette got married, I've liked him. But, I don't deserve to take Asher away from Lariette."
Melda's psychopathic laugh made Asher's gaze sharper. "You don't need to pretend to be a good girl, when in fact you've been secretly approaching Asher all this time, right!"
Aaron immediately nudged his wife's hand. "Melda, you better not make the situation worse." Then, his gaze fell on his former son-in-law. "How about we discuss this matter in my study?"
In the end, Aaron and Melda led Asher out of the attic room. Now only Serena and Barbara were left in the room. Barbara left the bedroom door still wide open due to Asher breaking the door.
This time Serena looks confident and not afraid anymore in front of the most cruel sister in the world. She smiled sarcastically while folding her arms.
"You saw it yourself. Even Asher behaved better than you guys."
Barbara frowned. "Is it true that you weren't secretly targeting him while Lariette was still Asher's wife?"
"Yes, why would I steal my own sister's husband." Serena looked at the wall clock as she walked towards the bedroom door. "If you don't have anything else to do with me, I'll leave now after Asher has discussed this matters with your parents."
When Serena stepped on the doorstep, Barbara suddenly dragged her body into the attic room and then pushed her against a plywood-like case. Serena wanted to fight Barbara but the energy in her body was not enough to fight Barbara's very strong strength, especially since the last time she ate breakfast was instant noodles at the minimarket before going home.
"Because you are ungrateful even though we have taken care of you all this time, instead you have to leave this house empty-handed. You are not allowed to take any objects that were given to us!"
"I also don't want to bring anything from you guys. You always give me broken things and shabby clothes. I only want to bring my cell phone because I bought it using my money."
"Then you can't wear my dress now. Take your dress off!" Barbara wanted to unbutton the black dress but was prevented by Serena.
"Are you crazy! You want me to go naked?!"
"Hasn't Asher ever seen you naked? Yesterday you didn't come home and Asher said that you were actually with him all night."
"But, still I won't sell my body easily!"
Still, Barbara grabbed her stepsister's hair while unbuttoning her dress one by one with force until Serena's black dress was slightly torn. Barbara opened the black dress as hard as she could until she saw Serena's half-naked body, only her underwear remaining.
"Barbara, please!" Serena used all her strength to slap Barbara's cheek then pushed her stepsister's body roughly until she fell off the bed.
Barbara moved nimbly and then held her half-sister's body again as she lay slumped. "You don't deserve to wear my clothes!"
"What did you do to my fiancé?!"
Asher's shouting made Barbara stop what she was doing. Barbara immediately stood up straight with a pitiful facial expression.
"Asher, your future wife was causing trouble earlier. I just taught her a little lesson." Barbara pointed to her red cheeks. "You can see my cheek was slapped earlier."
"No, Asher. Barbara is lying." Serena sobbed while wearing her black dress again.
Asher immediately approached his future wife swiftly. Opening the coat he was wearing to cover her curvy body which was half naked. "If you continue to act like this, I will report you to the police!"
As usual, Asher didn't want to talk much, especially about the devil family who had tortured Serena. In the sedan, Serena still pursed her lips while staring blankly at the car window. Today was the worst day in her life because her step sister wanted to strip her naked for the first time, especially in front of Asher openly.
"Are you sorry after rejecting my proposal yesterday?" Asher asked firmly while focusing on driving his sedan.
"I-"
"I will buy decent clothes for you. You are a woman, it is not appropriate to show your body openly in front of other people."
