Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Cardinal Battle Begans

Location: Cardinal World

Feldway POV

Can I even stall it? My mind raced through possible strategies, simulations, counters. Nothing solid. Too many unknowns.

Then a sound—no, a detonation—ripped through the sky.

And there it was.

A massive, three-headed creature rose above the flames, a living nightmare. Each head radiated a different form of evil. I couldn't even tell which was worse—the calm menace, the wild insanity, or the silent judgment.

Then my eyes locked onto something else.

Obera.

She was on the ground, her body shaking, her blade barely in her hand. Her wings were scorched. She'd given everything—and it had done nothing.

Before I could think, I teleported. Scooped her up in my arms. Teleported again, taking her to the cave I'd marked earlier.

Her eyes fluttered open, voice hoarse.

"What are you doing he—"

She tried to sound angry. But she failed as she starts coughing.

"Saving you. And stalling that thing. You're welcome."

She glared weakly, but before she could respond, laughter rang out—a twisted, bone-chilling cackle.

I turned. The green-haired head was laughing. Not just at us—but at her.

It enjoyed watching her suffer.

My grip on Obera tightened instinctively—until I realized…

Wait.

Why am I still holding her?

This is so… embarrassing. I'd never held a girl before. Not like this.

What should I do!?!

I cleared my throat and bolted toward the cave's interior, carefully setting her down.

"Promise me you'll rest. You fought well."

"…Let me join you…"

Her voice was faint, but her will remained unbroken.

"No. You've done enough. Rest."

I turned before she could argue more. The Titan was still in the distance, not moving—just watching. Curious.

3rd Person POV

The Mad Titan's three heads watched Feldway return. Each wore a different expression: one grinned with delight, another sneered in disgust, and the third… stared blankly, as if bored.

The blue-haired head was the first to speak, voice low and mocking.

"So, you're fighting in her place now, huh? Heh. Hopefully, you'll put up a better fight than that winged person. She was amusing… but not satisfying."

Feldway didn't answer. His mind was focused, mapping every inch of the battlefield, recalling where he'd hidden traps. His sword—Ark—shimmered in his hand.

True Form costs too much energy… nine days before collapse. Current form? One month with no heavy spell usage. I'll save it unless needed.

Suddenly, Feldway turned and sprinted back toward the cave.

The middle head snarled.

"You coward! Fight us!"

The Titan lunged—but as it did, light erupted from the ground. The trap activated.

Divine light wrapped around its colossal form. Feldway watched calmly, as the Titan screamed in agony.

"I left a surprises behind while I carried her. You'll find that I don't prefer to waste time on the likes of you"

As the light faded, the Titan shrunk. Its enormous body condensed until it stood just slightly taller than Feldway himself.

All three heads glared with open fury.

"You would be much more fun toy to play. So let us introduce ourselves… I am Dagruel," said the middle.

"Glassord," said the right.

"Call me Fenn," added the left.

And in unison: "Together, we are the Mad Titan. We were made to destroy. Now, we destroy you."

Feldway ascended into the air, holy light swirling around him. Ark pulsed, alive with radiant fire.

The Titan moved first.

A punch, fast as lightning, shot toward him.

Feldway didn't flinch.

"Not happening."

He caught the punch with his blade. Sky cracked open. Air pressure exploded. Feldway's arm trembled slightly, but he twisted, grabbed the middle head by the throat, and slammed it into the ground with devastating force.

The ground buckled, stone shattering beneath their weight.

As he landed, he healed his hand instantly, already conjuring fire in his other palm.

But the Titan rose again.

The left head spoke, its voice cruel.

"You done yet?"

The red energy around its hand shimmered—space itself distorted.

The fire Feldway conjured flickered out, consumed by the warp.

Then came the fireball.

He deflected it—but the Titan blurred forward.

So fast—

A crushing blow slammed into his side, launching him through a mountain range—

But golden light flashed.

The Titan had struck one of Feldway's summoned angels instead.

He stood calmly above the wreckage, brushing dust off his shoulder.

"You'll need to try harder. I'm not easy to catch."

And as divine light ignited around him, his body began to transform—golden, radiant, unstoppable.

Feldway revealed his True Form.

The real battle had begun.

To be continued…
