Cherreads

Reincarnated

Location: Bathroom, Apartment Complex

Y/N sighed, staring at their reflection in the mirror. Dark circles. Lifeless eyes. A face that screamed exhaustion.

"31 years old. Single. Overworked. My life is a joke."

After two grueling weeks of work, they finally took a bath.

As they stepped out—

They slipped.

Their head smacked against the tub. Blood pooled around them. Darkness swallowed everything.

Yet, there was no fear. Just… acceptance.

"Death, huh? Guess I finally get to see what's on the other side."

Born into a religious family, Y/N had always believed in the afterlife. Maybe now, they'd see if it truly existed.

Or maybe… just another life of servitude.

"NOTICE: Individual Y/N's soul is wandering around the physical belt, searching for a host."

Y/N blinked.

"Huh? Who's speaking? Is my Neuralink malfunctioning?"

Back in their world, the Law of 2035 had turned corporations into global superpowers, advancing technology at the cost of morality. Justice was a commodity for the rich.

Y/N had lived within that system, despite their disgust.

They wanted true justice.

"NOTICE: Individual Y/N has acquired Unique Skill [Justice]."

"…What?"

Their body was probably cold by now. Maybe even burning in the tub, they thought…

"NOTICE: Individual Y/N has received Temperature Resistance, Poison Resistance, Infinite Regeneration, Soul Regeneration, Pain Resistance, and Body Recreation."

"Can you shut up…?"

Drifting in the void, an unbearable loneliness crept in.

They missed their parents.

They wanted to see them one last time.

Then—

Everything turned white.

Y/N's POV

Clouds surrounded me, soft and endless. It was beautiful.

But then—

I saw a man.

A man with golden hair, draped in a regal red cloak. His dark blue eyes were devoid of emotion—empty, like a puppet. A mere vessel.

Before I could react—

My entire being began to disintegrate.

Bits of my soul were pulled into his body.

"What's happening?!"

Then—

I opened my eyes.

Awareness. Power. Knowledge beyond human comprehension flooded my senses…

"So that's what space looks like.."

I tried to take in my surroundings when—

A massive cyan dragon stared directly at me.

I froze.

If I still had a heart, it would have stopped.

Something tells me that this thing had been watching me the entire time.

This was worse than serving some corporate overlord.

This was—

"IT'S A GODDAMN DRAGON!!"

The dragon grinned.

"Let's go! You finally got an ego! I'm so happy and proud of myself! From now on, your name is Feldway, even though I would say that Y/N isn't a bad name either… BUT! Feldway is so much better. Well overall, it looks like my experiment worked perfectly! As expected of me!"

Wait.

How does he know my name?

No—more importantly—

Did he just call me an experiment?!

His grin widened, almost like he could read my thoughts.

"Did you think something just now? You know what? I'll ignore it for now."

I remained silent.

"Well, let me introduce myself properly. I am Veldanava! No—Creator Veldanava! Sounds cooler, right?"

He nodded to himself.

"Hmm… how should I explain this? Did you believe in God or deities back in your old life, little guy?"

Little guy?!

Okay, yeah, compared to him, I was like an ant, but still…

I cleared my throat.

"I do believe in an all-powerful being called God… What does that have to do with you, Mr. Veldanava?"

Respect. I needed to be respectful. I really, really didn't want to be eaten alive.

Veldanava smirked.

"Ahem! Alright, basically—I am them!"

Oh.

Alright, that makes se—

Wait.

WAIT, DID HE JUST—?!

"WAIT, YOU'RE GOD?! LIKE, THE G.O.D?!"

Veldanava nodded smugly.

"Minus the omnipotence part. I used to be one, along with… others… Ahem! But hey, I'm still strong! You could say my power is 'functionally' omnipotent since I created this reality and countless others from scratch. But yeah, I'm one of them."

He suddenly grinned again.

"BUT!! You can call me R.O.B.—aka Random Overpowered Being!"

Ain't no way.

Did he seriously just introduce himself like that while calling himself G.O.D?!

With that devilish smile, nonetheless…

I closed my eyes and muttered the only prayer I could think of.

"God, Creator, someone, please help me…

A strange feeling rushed over me.

Then—

It disappeared.

Veldanava chuckled.

"I am here, you know. And there's no one in this reality that can help you."

My eyes widened.

"OH NO!!"

It isn't a dream at all!!

Veldanava's grin stretched wider.

"OH YES!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!"

His voice boomed, shaking the very fabric of this realm.

I was so screwed.
