Chapter 8 - I guess I have no choice

Meanwhile, in Micheal's house,

After being forcefully kissed and continuously swearing at himself, his stomach growled, and that reminded him that it was still in the mornings.

So, he had to cook and clean the house, even though there wasn't much to clean since he didn't have a habit of messing up after himself.

He took his dirty clothes to his washing machine, tucked them all in, and sighed before moving to get a vacuum.

Micheal felt even more exhausted after such a wild morning with the wolf man whose name he did not even know.

"What do I do with him?" Micheal asked himself. "Should I just throw him out now that he's unconscious? No, that wouldn't be an ethical thing to do, and he could attack me all of a sudden. I wouldn't stand a chance." He shook his head while sighing and went to the kitchen. "Besides, I already promised to let him stay, even though I'm quite sure he didn't hear that part since he was groaning in pain. Hah, I have it hard, this life. I should just hurry up with my suicide."

His thoughts of committing suicide were still there. He had no plans of continuing to live in this wretched world that only treated him badly.

And yet... He was still scared at the fact of getting attacked and killed by a wolf man.

Micheal thought of this and subconsciously rubbed his neck, where he felt that bringing sensation. Did he really want to die?

"Well, not that I didn't joy in it. Death isn't funny, after all." He laughed but his laughter slowly fell as he remembered his life wasn't funny either. His gaze dropped as well, staring at the knife he had picked up. "I'm just... Exhausted."

If he were to cut his wrist right then and there, he would save himself from the continuous torment of living.

He shook his head.

"Forget it. I can die another day."

He took out a few ingredients from the fridge and started slicing them up. He cooked something good and, when he was done, went to the room to check if the wolf man had woken up, but he was still knocked out.

He got closer, just to check his temperature and luckily, he didn't feel like a corpse. He did this from a safe distance and an angle where it would be impossible to suddenly grab him. He was scared that he would suddenly act crazy, grab him, and pin him to the bed.

Well, he wouldn't lie, it was thrilling, but at the same time, it was frightening, knowing his true nature.

He was no different from an uncontained beast.

"Should I wake him up to eat?" He asked as he stared at him sleeping peacefully. And then his eyes trailed to his body. "Ah, I should probably get him some clothes too. I doubt I have anything that will fit him. So, do I have to go shopping now?"

He was fed up. Doing the things that made him even more exhausted on someone else's behalf just didn't cut out for him.

"I guess I have no choice." He got up and headed for the kitchen again. "I can't exactly order him to go out and get his own clothes. The guy has no memory." He scratched his head. "And he'd get arrested for walking naked."

So, Micheal made his way to a clothing shop after breakfast, trying to pick out something simple for the wolf man.

"I think walking around with him will increase the chances of finding his family." Micheal muttered to himself but then remembered something depressing, causing him to frown on exhaustion. "And it also increases the chances of his pursuers finding him. Ugh, this is a headache."

He took what he could and returned, hoping he would've woken up already but he was still flat unconscious.

He clicked his tongue, dropped the clothes as well as underwear right next to him, and made his way to the living room.

Since he no longer had a job, he could lazy around and not worry about being late or missing any deadlines.

After all, the plan was to live the rest of his life as a lazy ass, spending the rest of his money in his bank account, and then commit suicide.

It was as simple as that.

But with the recent 'development', he wasn't so sure he would have the leisure of lazying around.

He was still regretting taking him in.

"I should've just minded my business." He said under his breath as he opened the can of beer in his hand. He took a lot of gulps before smacking his lips and cleaning his mouth with the back of his palm. "I brought this upon myself when I tried to be sympathetic."

But was it sympathy, though? It could be more of a 'you seem to be in the same shit as me' situation.

Though he wasn't bleeding, his situation was very similar to the dog he found. Alone, abandoned, whatever anyone could use to describe it. Seeing how it put its guard up so high that it bit him as soon as he got close, he could tell he wasn't just hurt on the outside but inside as well.

Micheal glanced towards his room, stood up, and walked towards it with two cans of beer in his hand.

He entered his room and found the wolf man still soundly asleep,

"Hey, you better not die in your sleep." He said. "You don't know how much effort I put into making sure you don't die." He sat on the floor facing him. "You seem like you have a lot to live for. You might even be someone of importance, that's why you got those pursuers on your tail. Whereas I..." He drank from the can and looked sadly at him. "...Don't have a reason to continue living. So, if anyone's going to be dying, it's me. Got that?"
