Chapter 25 - Detective Alex

Let's get back to the story. Alex had been watching the conversation between Alyssa and JoeGad from afar, a curious expression on his face. He wasn't even supposed to be in this part of the school, having skipped his own class to get a better look at Alyssa's interactions.

As JoeGad walked away, Alex sauntered over to Alyssa, a mischievous glint in his eye.

"Well, well, well," he said, his voice low and teasing. "Looks like someone's got a crush."

Alyssa's face flushed with embarrassment as she turned to Alex. "Shut up," she said, trying to sound stern.

But Alex just laughed. "I'm serious," he said. "You were practically swooning over him."

Alyssa rolled her eyes, trying to play it cool. "I was not," she said.

Alex raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really?" he said. "Then why were you staring at him like he's the only person in the world?"

Alyssa's face grew even hotter as she realized that Alex had been watching her entire conversation with JoeGad.

"You're just jealous," she said, trying to deflect the attention.

Alex chuckled. "Maybe a little," he said. "But I'm also curious. What's going on with you and JoeGad?"

Alyssa shrugged, trying to downplay the situation. "Nothing's going on," she said. "We just talked for a minute."

Alex raised an eyebrow. "That's not what it looked like to me," he said. "It looked like you were really into him."

Alyssa sighed, feeling a bit frustrated. "Okay, fine," she said. "I might have a little crush on him. But it's nothing serious."

Alex grinned. "I'm happy for you," he said. "You deserve someone who likes you for who you are."

Alyssa felt a pang of surprise at Alex's words. She hadn't expected him to be so supportive.

"Thanks, Alex," she said, feeling a bit more at ease.

Alex nodded. "No problem," he said. "Now, want to grab lunch together? I'm starving."

Alyssa smiled, feeling happy to have Alex's company. "Yeah, sure," she said.

As they walked to the cafeteria together, Alyssa couldn't help but feel grateful for her friend's support. She knew that Alex would always be there for her, no matter what.

As they walked to the cafeteria, Alex's expression subtly changed, a hint of disapproval flickering across his face. He wasn't thrilled about JoeGad, but he wasn't going to share his concerns with Alyssa... yet.

Instead, he maintained a neutral tone, engaging Alyssa in conversation about school and other lighthearted topics. Alyssa, oblivious to Alex's reservations, chatted happily alongside him.

As they entered the cafeteria, Alex gestured toward the food options. "What do you feel like eating?" he asked, his eyes scanning the menu.

Alyssa hesitated, considering her choices. "I think I'll get a sandwich," she said finally.

Alex nodded, falling into step beside her as they joined the lunch line. His friendly demeanor remained, but his thoughts lingered on JoeGad, his mind quietly assessing the situation.

As they waited in line, Alex continued to chat with Alyssa, asking her about her classes and her summer. Alyssa laughed and joked, completely unaware of Alex's underlying concerns.

Meanwhile, Alex's mind was working overtime, analyzing the situation with JoeGad. He had always thought of JoeGad as a bit of a player, and he wasn't sure if he was the right guy for Alyssa.

But he didn't want to ruin the moment, so he kept his thoughts to himself, smiling and nodding along as Alyssa talked.

When it was their turn to order, Alex stepped forward, his eyes scanning the menu once more. "I'll get a burger," he said, his voice friendly.

Alyssa smiled, her eyes sparkling. "Sounds good," she said.

As they paid for their food and made their way to a table, Alex couldn't shake the feeling that he needed to keep an eye on JoeGad. He didn't want Alyssa to get hurt.

But for now, he pushed the thought aside, focusing on enjoying his lunch with his friend. They sat down at a table, laughing and chatting as they ate.

The cafeteria was bustling with activity, but Alex's attention was fixed on Alyssa, his eyes watching her with a mixture of concern and affection. He was determined to be there for her, no matter what happened with JoeGad.

As Alex walked out of his classroom, he spotted JoeGad waiting by his locker, and his mind immediately went to Alyssa. He wondered if JoeGad was waiting for her, or if he just happened to be in the same area.

Alex's concerns about JoeGad's intentions resurfaced, and he felt a sense of responsibility to look out for Alyssa. He made a mental note to check in with her later, to see how things were going.

As he walked to his next class, Alex's thoughts were preoccupied with Alyssa and JoeGad. He couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't quite right, and he was determined to keep a closer eye on the situation.

When he arrived at his next class, Alex took his seat, his mind still focused on Alyssa and JoeGad. He tried to concentrate on the lesson, but his thoughts kept drifting back to his concerns about JoeGad's intentions.

As the class progressed, Alex found himself wondering what Alyssa was doing, and if she had seen JoeGad yet. He hoped she was being careful, and that she wouldn't get hurt.

The class eventually came to a close, and Alex packed up his things, his mind still preoccupied with Alyssa and JoeGad. He walked out of the classroom, his eyes scanning the hallway, searching for any sign of Alyssa or JoeGad.

As Alex walked out of the classroom, he couldn't help but think back to when Alyssa had mentioned her friend from Germany. She had talked about how much she admired this person, and how they had stayed in touch over the years.

Alex's mind started to make connections between Alyssa's past and her current interest in JoeGad. He wondered if there was more to the story, if Alyssa's feelings for JoeGad were rooted in her past experiences.
