"She isn't awake yet?" Chris asks, frowning.
Luthien shakes his head, "It's late at night… though. She should have woken up since you both did." Chris adds, as Luthien sighs.
"What is this stuff?" Camille asks, looking through, "Oh, the stuff I found in the scene, and I went back to the company to get Miss Damaris's stuff too." Chris says, shrugging, "Found anything important?" Phillip questions.
Chris shakes his head, "Though, I noticed a pair of imprints, I mean two different-sized imprints inside the jungle, and they disappear suddenly."
"I do remember, before I lost it…two men were trying to get inside the car." Luthien adds, "For?" Phillip questions, "Obviously me, dad."
Camille sighs, "Why would someone want to hurt my baby?"
Luthien stays quiet, conflicted about whether to let them in, but he couldn't risk going out on it without being sure for himself. Chris looks at Luthien, observing him, "Don't worry, honey, we will make sure this doesn't happen again."Phillip says, comforting his wife.
"And Sierra? What actually… happened?" Luthien asks, looking up and meeting Chris's gaze.
Chris shrugs, "Nothing I can explain."
Luthien rolls his eyes, "I asked, what 'did' happen?"
Camille chuckles while Chris grins, "She sure was sprinting to you, on her feet… looking all possessed." Luthien widens his eyes, "She what?"
Phillip sighs, "Do you know anything about her, son?"
Luthien gulps, shaking his head, "I mean… I do know her, she is my employee." Luthien says, looking at Chris, who was grinning, Luthien squints his eyes and clears his throat, "She is new, though… so, we don't know much."
Phillip nods his head, "Son… how is she as a person?" Camille asks, excited, Luthien frowns, "Uh… she is good?" He mumbles.
"Oh, she is very good, trust me. She isn't afraid of his angry face." Chris says, laughing while Luthien widens his eyes, "What nonsense!? I haven't even got angry with her."
Camille and Phillip giggle, "See, that's what I mean. She is that good." Chris retorts, smirking while the couple nods their head.
"This is unusual… how can a human do that?" Luthien speaks out loud, "I know, right?" Chris mumbles, nodding his head.
"The moment felt just so weird, she was all okay… like we were talking." Chris starts, the three of them grow serious listening to him, "And then… she was in pain."
"Pain?" Luthien frowns.
Chris nods, "Yeah, she was struggling to breathe even… she said her stomach was being weird and painful… I took her out of the elevator." Chris sighs, reminiscing about the event, "And… she goes cold. I panicked."
"And?" Phillip adds.
"Then… I dialed for an ambulance, really, but she startled me." he says, dramatically, "Seriously, she jolts up like undead."
Camille frowns, "Was she behaving weird?"
"She had no emotions, eyes blank…." Chris says, "And she kept mumbling, 'I need to go, he needs me'. That… freaked me out."
"How would she know…? That's suspicious." Luthien says, thinking out loud, "Right?" Phillip speaks, "I have been thinking… a lot." Phillip sighs, "But, never heard of something like this happening."
"Neither did I." Camille adds.
Luthien gets lost in his thoughts, and Chris tilts his head.
"Alpha, had you not arranged a meeting today?" Chris asks, Phillip gasps, "Oh yeah. I almost forgot." He stands up, "Honey, let's leave for now."
Camille frowns, "Me too?"
"Why not?" Phillip asks.
"I want to make sure kids are fine." Camille says, smiling.
"No, Ma. I will look after her, you don't need to worry about me too." Luthien says, encouraging her to accompany Phillip, "Right, he will look after her. Even Chris is here, not to forget uncle Kim." Phillip adds.
Camille heaves a sigh and nods, standing up. "If you all insist, then, call me once she wakes up." She looks at Luthien, receiving a nod from her son, she smiles, adding, "I want to meet her."
Luthien scoffs but doesn't say a word.
"We will be waiting." Chris says, waving them bye as they head to the door.
"Hmm, we will be back soon." Phillip says, walking out as Camille waves back, smiling.
Once they are out, Chris focuses on Luthien, "So… is it time now?"
Luthien sighs, "Perhaps…?"
"Just what is going on?" Chris questions.
Luthien leans ahead, "Actually, to be honest… I have no idea what is happening, okay?" He starts, Chris tilts his head, "You don't? Then… what do you do when you leave by yourself?" Chris presses on the matter.
"I am looking for someone." Luthien speaks, grim.
"Who? Your mate? But you said she is dead… means, not her." He says, correcting himself and Luthien shrugs, "I once believed that woman was my mate." Luthien says, looking at Chris.
"But what changed?" Chris mumbles, worried.
"I am not sure of her intention… alright?" Luthien says, annoyed.
"I really can't understand. I regret not being with you back then, I should have been here." Chris says, dejected, "Hey… nothing happened much." Luthien chuckles.
"No, so much happened…you changed." Chris says, looking down as he plays with his fingers.
"Hey, you had to leave…not like you wanted to. Your mother was sick." Luthien says, smiling as he pats Chris's back. Chris smiles, and then nudges him, "Shut up. Anyways, who was she?"
Luthien purses his lips, "She is the daughter of Alpha Joseph O'Connor, from the pack 'The Bloodhowl' and dad kinda had a hand in this."
Chris gasps, "The infamous woman?"
Luthien frowns, "She what?"
Chris laughs out loud, "Have you never heard a thing? Dude, you are unbelievable."
Luthien huffs, "Like I care for gossip!"
"Actually, she is kinda notorious in rumor, heard she is a spoiled brat." Chris starts, shrugging while he funnily looks at Luthien, "What's with that look?" Luthien frowns.
"How was she?" Chris asks, all curious.
Luthien looks down, "When I thought… she was my mate. I liked her."
Chris frowns, "What does that even mean? How can one mistake their mate?"
Luthien shrugs, "I am being honest, she did feel like my mate."
Chris shakes his head, "Come on, bro!"
Luthien huffs, standing up, Chris grabs him by his hand, pulling him back on the couch, beside him, "No, talk."
"It all happened, okay?" Luthien huffs, shifting as he sits properly.
"What did?"
"The… fuzzy feeling and the tinglings. Isn't that how it feels when you come across your mate?" Luthien asks, flushing embarrassed while Chris laughs out loud, wiping the subtle moisture escaping his eyes.
"The fuck you laughing at?!" Luthien snaps, wrapping his arm around his neck, choking him playfully while Chris gasps, patting Luthien's arm despite the laughter not ending on his side, it was way too funny for him.
"Dude.." Chris chokes on his laughter, and Luthien smacks him.
"Okay, I stop." Chris giggles, surrendering his hands in the air.
"You should, idiot." Luthien huffs, leaning back against the couch, "But why stop there?" Chris starts, poking Luthien, "Fuck off." He stands up again, "I am done talking to you." Luthien grumbles, making his way towards his room.
"Call me if she is awake, okay?" Chris shouts, giggling on the couch. Luthien shows a middle finger, silently walking to his room.
Luthien enters, slow and silent, watching her breathing even, sprawled over his bed unconscious, "Sierra… wake up, will you?" He mumbles, sitting on the edge, his hand slowly trailing over her cheeks, to tuck the fringe behind her ear.
"I need to know…" He gulps, his eyes never leaving her face, "What are you?" He adds, caressing her cheek.
He looks behind, his eyes finding her bandaged feet, he sighs and looks back at her again, "How could you have run that fast?"
He shifts, sitting with ease as he leans down, "I didn't like it at all…you, getting hurt…" He sighs, "For me… that's not something I would want…" He continues, caressing her cheek, adoringly.
"See, you do like her." Chris says, as if he is stating truth, a fact.
Luthien flinches, pulling himself back.
"What are you doing here?!" Luthien huffed, standing up as he looked anywhere but him, clearing his throat, he glared at Chris, who stood by the door, grinning with that lazy smirk.
"Doesn't matter!" Luthien retorts, still embarrassed. "And don't sneak up on me, asshole!" He adds, pushing his hair back as he looks at Sierra and then at Chris, "Shouldn't she be awake? It's been hours." Chris comments, walking in.
"The doctor did say she is in a coma." Luthien sighs, "Coma?" Chris gasps.
Luthien nods, "He said her body is compromised, fatigued even. Her body is recovering. Isn't that more weird? How does a human body work this way?"
Chris hmms, nodding his head. "We need to figure out. She sure is an unusual case."
Luthien crosses his arm, looking troubled, "You know, this means… my mess would indulge her way too much." Chris hmms, "So, you need to let me in. Talk about whatever it is you keep doing, all by yourself."
Luthien chuckles, "I told you…my core, it was stolen in that hill. I keep going back to piece the puzzle that I can't solve."
"Then, next time… take me along." Chris says, holding his hand.
Luthien chuckles, "Don't… I can't handle your mate jumping on me, all mad." Chris huffs, smiling, "Oh, come on… she wouldn't mind." Chris plays along, grinning.
"Dude!" Luthien laughs, pushing him away.
Chris gasps, "You started!"
They both look at each other, laughing out loud. They froze when they heard a soft yelp escaping her lips. They rushed, leaning down as they watched her.
