He was tormented by Vanessa's words that morning, she was inviting him to join the Justice League, him, a green kid who had miraculously accomplished a couple small feats? It sounded like light nonsense, but pleasant nonsense, as if Will's abilities were appreciated.
"What if you drank some soda with poison in it?", Clark had said during their conversation, which brought up a brief flash of memories in Will's mind. Still, he couldn't rule out the fact that his abilities might have had something to do with the new world.
«Chemicals, then? - Will pondered, sitting in a comfortable chair on the balcony and sipping tea. From twenty stories up. He had a view of early Gotham City, full of tall towers, and cars scurrying back and forth, so small it was funny to watch them... like little dots with flashlights.
«What are you thinking? - Cara walked around Will from behind, kissed him, and while he was distracted, she stole his cup of tea. - Op-la!
«Thief!
«I bought it, that's right, uh-huh," she said businesslike, sipping his tea while standing in her panties, "so what's on your mind, master of my mug?
"What am I thinking about, right? Probably about our relationship. I'm looking at you all nice and I don't know if I want to spoil everything with the unpleasant truth," - as practice showed, in relationships skillful silence is the key to success.
And Kara's eyes were so gentle and kind that Will found it awkward to keep silent and hard to tear himself away. Will seemed to be seriously in love.
Many thoughts reigned in his head, and he wondered whether to tell Kara about his superpowers. There was a suspicion that Clark's words would be true: maybe he'd actually ingested the chemicals and hadn't noticed. Potentially, he could be in the unenviable fate of the Joker or something. After all, there have been a number of cases in Gotham where people have fallen into chemicals and turned into monsters or madmen. In one universe, Selina Kyle became Catwoman after she died and was exposed to some chemicals, then she came back to life and had strange powers. Yeah, she was weak compared to the same Poison Ivy, but at least her ass didn't turn green like a plant.
What if something like this was waiting for Will? What if he was just sitting there drinking tea and thinking that everything was going to be fine, but in reality he was undergoing dangerous chemical processes in his body? Suppose right now a mutation was quietly taking place in him, his cells were changing and soon he would become a reptile or an ass-ass freak with a rock for a face? That would explain why his body had acquired superhuman reflexes and that... chakra.
Willard was startled out of his thoughts and laughed nervously. He could have sworn his stomach rumbled and his head spun.
"Calm down, you're imagining things."
Before Will could tell the girl the truth, Kara had already flown straight off the balcony to her superheroic endeavors. And so Willard was left all alone in the morning sun on a balcony overlooking the center of Gotham City. Beautiful, smoky, chilly, but the hot mug in his hands (already nearly empty), warmed his fingers pleasantly, his worries were gone. He liked living like this. No worries and with a super girl.
And he wasn't thinking about Supergirl's white panties flying away.
Or thought, "Damn it, why do you have to wear that skirt with your suit, Kara? You flash your panties every time you come to the rescue!"
"Just think, a sexy hottie flying around town and shining her panties," was what he told her the next time they met, and as it happened, things were suddenly hot between them. Kara liked it when he called her sexy and when he wanted her.
Yeah, that wasn't what he'd counted on when he wanted to reprimand her for her glowing underwear.

Vanessa Wayne watched Will with a frown as they were left alone in the group study room. It was hard to tell what she was thinking with that impenetrable, cold expression on her face. Oh, and the situation was strange...
Vanessa watched Will walk into the auditorium almost limping. Of course, it never occurred to her what could have happened to Willard. To her mind everything this guy did seemed ridiculous, and all because she was secretly jealous of him, which was why Superman paid him a lot of attention.
"I mean, he's nothing. Just a pretty face and that's it. How annoying," Vanessa thought.
«I thought we were pretending not to notice each other," Will said.
Vanessa arched an eyebrow.
«Who is this Humpbacked Horse? What happened to you? Did you get run over by an ice rink?
«Something like that. I can't bloody well get used to it," he whispered.
«What are you saying?
«It doesn't matter.
"I just think it's time for Kara to grow up and remember that I'm a regular person," he thought.
The reason Vanessa was here, Willard had found out last night. He'd gotten a text message at two in the morning, when he was almost asleep.
It was all the principal' fault. She asked Vanessa to pull Willard up in his studies, so that he wouldn't lose his scholarship and drop out of the university. Vanessa Wayne was the first after Willard Light in her studies, before Cyril got into Willard's body and lost all his knowledge.
And now Will had to put up with this arrogant upstart.
Also, Bruce Wayne recently told Will to watch his little girl. Isn't that funny? Batman asked Will to take care of Batman's daughter. Will was sure that Vanessa, with her father's lessons, was ready to survive a nuclear war on her own.
Of course, Will realized that Bruce was just being polite when he asked to take care of his little girl.
«You know, you don't have to teach me. I'm not going to stay at this university," Will said.
«Mmm, okay, whatever," Vanessa said, folding her legs on the desk and staring at her expensive smartphone.
«Just like that?
«I don't see the point in stopping you.
Will noticed a picture of Superman and Batman on Vanessa's phone screen saver, apparently she couldn't decide who she loved more, her super dad or her posh uncle.
And now it was clear that Vanessa Wayne really was a fan of Superman. And that was an incredible surprise to Will, because Damien Wayne, for example, would never have been able to call Superman "cool," nor would his pride have allowed him to. He would have spit acid, and maybe drunkenly, could at most say, "yeah, he's not bad, but no more. My dad's a hundred times cooler."
Anyway, the sister was different from her stupid brother Damien.
«That's a nice picture," Will said with a slight chuckle.
And then he received a reproachful look of dislike, in which he wanted to strike.
«Better than your gaudy screensaver chick.
«Hey, that's a little much. Kara looks awesome in that picture," Will looked down at a smiling Kara in a cute dress that was out of character for her. - I thought you were above insults.
Vanessa hummed dryly, as if she didn't care, and stared at her smartphone.
«I decide what's too much and what's not. You, on the other hand, should start deciding something in your life. Have you considered my invitation to the Justice League? Wait, let me guess, you haven't even told Kara?
«You don't look like you want me in the League so badly," Will said, sitting down across from Vanessa, the devil. - You were forced to invite me, weren't you?
"Now I'm even reluctant to leave the university because of what she said," Will thought to himself.
If he'd left the university without a prepared plan, he would have acted like an impulsive teenager and a real idiot. Maybe that was exactly what Vanessa wanted. Given her provocations and insolent behavior, she was clearly looking for a fight. And America in this respect exceeded all bounds of reasonableness, and women here had every possible right. Whereas a man could be shit on, humiliated, and blamed for every mortal sin, a woman could get away with murder.
That wasn't the worst part, though. Will was worried that Bats wouldn't kick his ass for his bad attitude to his daughter. Willard deeply respected Batman and didn't want to touch his favorite daughter, even if she was a bitch.
«If you don't like me so much, help me get out of this academy. The principal is too powerful. I'm afraid I couldn't leave the university even if we fought," Will said.
Vanessa sighed and set the smartphone aside on the table. Her attentive and cold blue eyes fell on Willard in mild indifference.
«You know, I look at you and there's one thing I don't understand. You're a poor kid. You got nothing but a sick mom and my dad's scholarship. You had a brain, but you fucked it up. So why do you want to lose it all? Just on principle? And don't even tell me you pretended to be a smartass - maybe you can fool the principal, but that's your limit.
«I don't want to deceive anyone," Will said, grinning. I don't want to deceive anyone," Will grinned. - And I didn't have a brain to begin with, you know-it-all.
Vanessa's cold gaze froze in a slight mixture of incomprehension and delight.
«And you think that sounds cool? - she arched an eyebrow.
«This is the best! I'm perfectly happy with my life, aren't you?
***
"What's he talking about anyway!", Vanessa marveled, getting up from her chair in unbearable irritation. She couldn't imagine why a man in his right mind would want to give up all his privileges.
Vanessa pressed her lips together, ignoring the fact that her father had given her clear orders: "Keep an eye on Willard Light," and that was it, no more details. Dumped her like some kind of dog (though that was clearly her attention-starved imagination playing out). As usual, Bruce stood with a scowl on his computer, not even a glance at his own daughter, and guess what your own father wanted from you!
Maybe Vanessa was missing something and Willard Light was actually beating her at an intellectual game? At least Bruce Wayne would never pay attention to an ordinary person.
Vanessa was furious, her father's decision was undeniable, right?
"Piece of shit," she was probably the only one in the whole world who could afford that expression towards Batman, since he was her daddy.
In public, Bruce Wayne was kind and caring, as a normal father should be, and when he put on the mask, everything - turned into a frowning and rude bore with an acuity above three hundred centigrade. That's the worst, Vanessa thought. Even when she tried to figure out what he was thinking, she always stayed a few steps behind, and Bruce never noticed her.
And it pissed her off! And this after all the things she'd done to get Bruce's attention. How hard is it for that stupid (he's not stupid, we get it, right?) jerk of a dad to look at her like a normal dad for once?!
And now some guy across from her has taken all of Bruce Wayne's attention for himself.
And now the principal was making Vanessa babysit Willard, who annoyed the hell out of her. Bruce Wayne probably hadn't paid as much attention to her as he had to Damian (okay), but not Willard!
«And you know what, fuck you," Vanessa kicked Willard with her foot.
But by some unknown image Will's hand intercepted Vanessa's leg beforehand. And so they hovered in an awkward pose. Vanessa's skirt was pulled up wide, revealing a perfect view of her black suspender panties.
And while Will was trying to figure out what had gotten into her, Vanessa glared at him without a shadow of shame, as if studying his abilities.
«That's interesting. So your reflexes work even when you're relaxed?
«Yeah...I guess, and wait, what the fuck are you doing waving your legs around? - Will swore, swiftly lowering Vanessa's foot.
Vanessa grabbed the kick from the table and threw it at Will's face like a piece of trash, while Will calmly intercepted the kick and quickly put it back on the table. Their altercation looked like child's play. Then Vanessa struck with her fist and tried to take Will in a clinch, but Will was unexpectedly fast this time, too, and got out of the way.
«Come on, you can't catch me," Will said.
But Vanessa wasn't willing to settle and kicked Will in the face. BAM. Vanessa's boot landed on the desk, but still past Will.
"Anything but losing to that weakling," she mentally exploded, kicking Will between his legs.
Oh, yes, the forbidden punch hit the target, but Will blocked it again. But Vanessa jumped on top of him, which Will hadn't expected, and the two of them collapsed on the desk.
«What did your father see in you? - Vanessa snarled coldly, looming over him.
"I'd like to say she likes to shine her panties, but I'll say different..."
«And I thought you were different from your brother, but apparently you have a ding-dong head too.
Giving Will a thoughtful, frowning look, Vanessa Wayne stood up from him and stopped at the entrance to the classroom, looking toward the corridor. The classroom was in a bit of a shambles after them, and it looked like he would have to clean up.
«You take care of your own problems, Willard Light. I'm not interested in what happens to you. All I'll say is that Dad's interested in you," she said, and then she left... and then she came back and pointed a finger at Will, "and yes, your reflexes have a weakness. They stop working when you stop taking your opponent seriously. Fix that, or you'll lose in a future fight, even to me.
After Vanessa left, Will couldn't get the truly idiotic thoughts out of his head.... Like a typical guy who wasn't the least bit shy about thinking about the fairer sex, he wondered... had she noticed that he'd been looking at her like a girl when she'd jumped him?
"How embarrassing."
And then I got all kinds of crazy stuff, like, "How good was she in bed? If she was such a bitch."
"No-no-no, think about her words... She said about my reflexes being weak? Is that how she was testing me? When Vanessa jumped on me, ahem, I hate to admit it, but I wasn't thinking about the fight at all," and then Will got carried away....
Like hell he's gonna believe Vanessa Wayne had zero boyfriends! Will would never believe that she was a log in bed! No, anyone but the arrogant Vanessa Wayne, who prefers the top position, she almost certainly gets on top of the lucky guy she picks as a boyfriend and doesn't let him rest until she's all over him. Or until he's done her in.
And then she could dump a guy like that and find a new one at the snap of her fingers, because she was such a hottie.
And it was a good thing someone like Vanessa would never pay attention to Will, because getting into the thick of things with the Waynes wasn't something he wanted to do.
«Okay...so what's the deal on reflexes.

It was a warm spring evening, and the living room was dark, very cozy, and even warmer than outside. Kara was sitting next to him, her hot breasts pressed softly against Will through his white T-shirt. Sometimes they would sit together in silence, sometimes they would talk about nothing, and sometimes Kara would talk about her heroic deeds, which would help Willard understand roughly which of the many DC universes he was in.
Kara didn't mention Darkseid, Anti-Monitor, or Laughing Batman, and thank God," Will thought, leaning back on the couch. And there were no hints of infection with a dangerous virus that would turn everyone into zombies, either, which meant Ameizo was... not close? Also, Kara hadn't said anything about the missing Joker, which caused Will to exhale, fearing the death of Lois Lane, which could be the beginning of Injustice, where Batman and Superman faced off in a bloody battle.
Oh, how pleased Willard was! Kara had told him about all sorts of trivial encounters with weak villains like Penguin, Poison Ivy, and other classic Gotham villains. After all, Kara lived with him in Gotham and mostly encountered local criminals.
Sure, in certain DC universes Poison Ivy could turn an entire world into a monster-filled world, but Willard highly doubted that was possible without Ivy's insane luck.
The only person Willard feared the most was Batman's nemesis, the Joker. The Joker was always unpredictable, the kind of asshole who wasn't afraid to grab you by the balls and rip them off, give you a couple of shots from a Dignol, and then laugh and say, "Is that funny?". That's fucking funny, bro!
The Joker's mad genius and lack of brakes made him the most dangerous enemy. And also in a way Joker was under Joker's direct protection, you know, like a criminal who could do anything and not die - which is probably why Batman was in some ways more insane than the Joker. If he wanted to, the Joker could kill Willard or Kara with some stealthy poison or trap that Will wouldn't even have time to realize.
More than once Willard had considered moving out of Gotham just because he was afraid of opening a window one day and seeing green smoke in the sky or a clown-faced rocket flying by.
And every single one of those things could make him laugh his ass off! Would Clark or Batman be able to save him? Do they need him?
Anyway, there were tons and tons more problems with these baddies, but the worst, nastiest, and cruelest of them lived in that shithole Gotham.
«What's tormenting you, sweetheart? - Kara asked, looking into his eyes.
She looked up at him with sleepy eyes and frowned. And Willard liked it.
«Do you think if Batman's interested in me, that means he's watching me?
«Stoopid," she sighed sleepily and lay back against his shoulder, closing her eyes.
«That's what I thought...
«Don't worry, Clark won't let you get hurt. And batman's not as evil as he seems. He's just weird.
«Yes indeed," Will said.
«You're a pest, Will.
Kara pinched his side, and Will grunted painfully. Then Kara fell asleep in his lap, and he thought about it.
