Chapter 2 - Spider meets world

Going back to sit on my comfortable chair, I conjure monitors in the air linked to the sight of my spider clones, they are all currently invisible in case you were wondering and already I have a good part of the city in observation already. With a flex of my will, a can of Mountain Dew appears on my hand, as I take stock of what I've discovered so far.

So the people with abilities in this world are called Parahumans, who are either heroes or villains or outliers like rogues, seems that amongst them, there are especially strong ones like Alexandria, Eidolon and Legend… huh did they really pick those names themselves? That's gotta be a tall bar to live to. And apparently there are a lot of bad guys and people who just go around killing just because… well that's not my problem as long as they don't bother me… or inconvenience me.

And then there is the group? Company? who manages these Parahumans especially heroic aligned ones called the protectorate who is under the Parahuman Response Team. All these are just surface information anyways, I wouldn't get anything substantial until I infiltrate further into everything. My spiders are still roaming about passing every information to me, the name of the place I find myself in is called  Brockton Bay and from what I've seen through my spiders eyes, the place is so hopeless. Is this okay? It's like the villains advertise their gang like it's an idol agency but yet they are still functioning, stereotypes dictates that they should at least be subtle but it seems they threw that out the window. *sighs*

Eh, I just saw something incredible, there is a dragon here, nai wa… After fighting Gulie-Gulie I don't want nothing to do with dragons anymore, isn't that enough dragons for one lifetime? Has fantasy invaded sci-fi this time around? What is the last boss doing in my beginner's village? Anyway let's find him and keep an eye on him, so I can avoid getting caught off guard like Gulie-Gulie did before.

Standing up from my chair and putting it into my sub space, I finally found a good place to settle down and immediately teleport there, what greets me is an abandoned building but that's no problem for me at all as it's still a hundred times better than the labyrinth. I would have gone to a hotel or something but I realized that I have no money and my appearance is way too distinct which would easily make me stand out, I'm definitely not trying to avoid conversing with anyone, not at all.

Alright let's get started, first of all, I create a barrier around the building that should keep anyone from coming too close and alert me if someone does come too close, I walk inside and then partially activate my [Territory] on just the interior of the building and then start conjuring the things I would need, a fridge, bed, toothbrush and other essentials, it only takes a few moment to do and I also designed the interior a little bit while at it, then finally closing every door and window in the building, I cover the whole interior in my webs… hehehe this reminds me a little bit of 'My Home' how nolstalgic.

I plop back first on my bed and conjure my monitoring screens again, my spiders are now all over the city and going even further, my knowledge of the world expands as my spiders do

Okay then, now what?

I finally decided on what to do and that is getting food identifying every 'cape' in this city just in case I ever need the information, apparently there is something called the 'Unwritten Rules'… good thing it's unwritten isn't it?

Finding the capes is comically easy, since all of them have a spatial disruption on their brain—which D stated is the source of their powers in the dossier— and for a spatial expert like myself, identifying it is fairly easy, a little bit of [X-Ray vision] and bam, every cape spotted, also these guys are kinda terrible aren't they? Super powered hitler wannabes, slave traders, drug peddlers, I mean look! This guy is obviously a spy right? He has powers but it seems like the PRT agency he works for doesn't know.

The more I discover the more I believe D sending me here is definitely a punishment for using her credit card. *Sighs*

Alright! Since I am hungry ( I actually don't need to eat anymore but that won't stop me) I guess it's time for some extreme actions, my reasoning is simple, if I take the monies of the bad guys then that means I am doing a good deed, it's like defeating bandits for XP, I get the XP, I'm happy! The villagers lose the bandits, they're happy! It's a win-win situation really. You could even argue I'm the good guy here. Yes, so for the sake of protecting the peace of the city, I will steal from the bad guys.

Immediately stacks of dollar bills appear in front of me… Eh did you think I was going to pull a James Bond stunt and go out to stealthily steal the monies? Ha ha ha of course not, not when I can just teleport all the money right to me especially with my spiders everywhere now. I also got some phones I found, in my sub space they go. Now time to get food.

Dine N Dash Employee, Terry

Terry has been working for 'Dine 'N' Dash' for about a year now and he has seen various weird and ridiculous things, when you live in Brockton Bay, I guess it would be more weird not to see them. But this has got to be the weirdest.

A note appeared on the order counter followed by a few cash, startling Terry, he looks around the restaurant but doesn't see anything particularly out of place. He cautiously reaches for the note while still maintaining a vigilant eye around the restaurant, he reads it to find that it's a takeout order. See now Terry would like to believe he is a smart guy, so what did he do? Without a word he packaged all the meal listed on the note and placed them on the counter and watches as they immediately disappear with no fanfare, he lets out an audible breath he didn't know he was holding.

When you live in the Bay, where there is a rage dragon, super powered hitlers, super powered drug dealers and other ridiculous things, so when a cape decides to order food using their powers and even paying? You shut up, take the money and tell them thank you!

Shiraori

Wow! I didn't think they would actually take my order, are the people in this city actually very nice?!
