In the evening after the fight, Usato while performing basic Karate stances as Sky suggested, when he asked how to systematically refine the body, taught him that basic Karate stance. According to Sky, Karate can improve balance and coordination, increase strength and stability, it also helps posture and alignment while helping develop focus and discipline which Usato currently needed.
As Usato executed a horseback stance, he couldn't help but remember how Kael, only using his mortal body, can manifest energies that seem like forming a red lion?. How's that possible? How did he do that? Usato, a being from a world of science and technology, couldn't help but ask, "How?", "Why?", and "What?".
Can't help it, he asked Sky while wiping the sweat in his body , "Sky?, Did you see Kael manifest a blurry red lion in his back right?" he asked.
And Sky replied mechanically, "Affirmative, anomaly detected. Energy signature unclear. I'm running diagnostics, but I'm not getting a clear read. The manifestation's properties don't match anything in my databases. I'm hypothesizing a possible connection to Kael's magical abilities, but I need more data to confirm. System status: analysis ongoing..."
While Usato and Sky are talking, faint footsteps heard outside the backyard proceeding to Usato's assigned hut reported by Sky's newly created nanobot, " Host, Nanobots reported the human being who guided you to this Hut named Syka, is going to enter the backyard, asking for further instructions" Sky reported.
Usato replied " Just let her come in" changing his mind, Usato said "Wait, I'll meet her" putting some clothes while walking to the entrance.
"Uh, hi again, Miss Syka come in," Usato said awkwardly, fidgeting with his hands.
Syka smiled playfully. "Mr. Usato, seems like you're getting quite familiar with our tribe's... spirited way of life," she said with a hint of amusement, referencing the fight earlier.
"We can't thank you enough for what you did for our tribesmen. Healing them is a lifesaver for us. You don't know how important it is for us to have strong, healthy warriors," Syka expressed gratefully, while thinking sadly about their situation.
"Miss Syka, can I ask why?" Usato asked, his brow furrowed in confusion. "I mean, I'm just glad I could help the hunters, but why is it such a big deal for the tribe?"
Syka noticed that she had almost shown an outsider her weak side, and replied while adjusting her expression, "Well, Mr. Usato, you don't know this, but there are many tribes located in this region. Some of those tribes are located in great areas, like near the river, in fertile soils, and even some of them are secretly protected by lords of nearby kingdoms."
"What? There are also kingdoms here?" Usato exclaimed excitedly, his eyes widening in surprise. "Miss Syka, can you tell me about this region, about the nearby kingdoms?" he asked eagerly, taking a step closer to Syka.
Noticing Usato's enthusiasm, Syka smiled and began to narrate some information she knew. "To us inhabitants, we call this region the 'Wildbeast Border' because our hunters regularly encounter beasts of all sizes. While outsiders, for some reason, call it the 'Barbarian's Cage.' I don't really know why," she said with a hint of confusion, tilting her head slightly.
Syka continued, her expression turning serious. "Based on what we know, this region alone consists of hundreds of tribes. Some of them have been destroyed by wild beasts, annexed by neighboring strong tribes, while others have simply vanished over time."
__"What?"__ Usato asked, shocked. __"You mean tribal wars are regularly happening in this area?"__ As a man from modern Earth, killings are usually condemned by its inhabitants, no matter the reason.
For Earth's inhabitants, killing is killing. It may sound hypocritical for this World's human being, who experienced wars, famine, beast tides and other unimaginable things, for earth dwellers.
If Kharon's inhabitants were to meet with Earth's inhabitants, they might not get along due to their different ideologies...
Eying Usato weirdly, Syka continued, __"Yes, that's what's happening in this area. Take our Evergreen tribe, for example. Due to this place's location, we can only rely on hunting and creating wooden arrows to sell to neighboring tribes. So it's natural for our hunters to have injuries and, worst... death!"__ Syka sadly ended.
"I'm so sorry~ Miss Syka. I didn't know the situation of your tribe and thoughtlessly asked questions," Usato apologized. "It's okay. I always thought Mr. Usato was from those nearby kingdoms, but the way you react, it looks like you're not one of them," Syka replied, without realizing she was slowly lowering her guard, and continued. "If, if it's not too much, Mr. Usato, can I ask where you came from and what's your plan in this region?" Syka asked nervously.
"Haha," Usato chuckled and said, "You misunderstand, Miss Syka. I don't have plans in this region. You overestimate me too much. It's just that I don't remember where I came from due to an accident. I woke up only remembering my name beside a river a few miles away from here." Usato lied, covering his background nervously.
Syka was shocked and slightly believed Usato. "Really?? My apologies, Mr. Usato. I just thought that the way you dress, speak, and act is different from us 'Wildbeast Border' dwellers."
"No worries, Miss Syka. If it's also not too much, can I ask you something?" Usato replied.
"Of course, you can, Mr. Usato. What is it?" asked Syka.
"It's just... you already know what happened at the training ground, right?" Usato said awkwardly.
"Yes, and I apologize for Kael's behavior. He's usually a good kid. I don't know what's happening to him. He changed after going with that Thaggar bastard," Syka said, thinking hatefully about Thaggar. In reality, he was her uncle, because Thornek, Thaggar's father, was Thorne's younger brother. Due to Thornek's personality, he married late, and his wife conceived a child late, making Thaggar the sole son of Thornek, which contributed to his arrogant and hateful nature.
_'No wonder Kael is rebelling; you always thought of him as a child, haha,'_ Usato thought hilariously.
"Mr. Usato?" Syka asked.
"O?,, yes, yes,Haha, I just remembered something," Usato said awkwardly.
"You said you wanted to ask something?" Syka urged Usato.
"It's like this... during my fight with Kael, I noticed a blurry image behind his back. Can you tell me what it is?" Usato asked hopefully.
