The entire broken order, so are the residents and their rulers—for eons, they bore the peerless sin, seeing those lower than the poorest as animals; or maybe even below. The sinners live in a heaven made by their vanished goddess, relishing all within it. What made them so valiant to bear such great sin? The aphanasis of their god? A loathsome sin.
Though fractured, the world itself still has hope. A destined hero will eventually reach the apex of the world, changing the order.
A gallant hero will rise, and we must wait until destiny itself makes it appear.
Let's dive into this story once more. Let us witness the horrendous fate of Hylena.
YAAAAAWN!...
Hylena and his younger siblings, Charles and Sophia, sleep well in their beds, as yesterday, Hylena succeeded in curing their hunger.
"Ugh... A new day again! I hope God will be on my side again!" Hylena said with excitement, hoping for fortune like the day before.
He stands with excitement and a euphoric face, his blue eyes filled with joy.
He looks at Sophia and Charles as they sleep peacefully. A smile appears on his face, and a sensation of happiness flows through his veins.
"Charles, Sophia... I will bring you food again like yesterday, and we will cure our hunger together..." Hylena said while preparing his apparel before searching for food.
He walks out of his home and goes to the street, hoping God will grant him fortune. Each trash can he opens, each laughter thrown at him—he has grown used to it. His indomitable spirit in searching for food burns even brighter.
As the glorious sun reached the top of his head, he found nothing. The excitement he once had slowly faded; however, he did not give up.
He desperately wanted to get a job—even if the wage was low, he would take it. However, no one accepted him. Instead, he was met with insults from everyone.
While searching for food, someone called out to him. Fear coursed through his veins, and superlative overthinking bound his mind—he feared he was about to be beaten again.
"Hey, you!" The person called out to Hylena. Slowly, he turned back to see the person, his body trembling with fear. He lowered his head, afraid to make eye contact.
"U-umm... W-what can I help you with?..." Hylena stammered, his voice quivering. Sweat dripped from his face as fear ignited deep within his soul.
"Hey, kid! Don't lower your head like that, I don't like it," the person said. Hylena recognized the voice from somewhere. Fear and curiosity wrestled for control of his mind.
As Hylena slowly raised his head, a mix of shock and happiness stirred within him. The person calling him—the one who had helped him and given him money—stood before him once more.
"M-Mr! Y-you're here!?... W-what can I help you with?..." Hylena said, his voice filled with joy, a euphoric smile spreading across his face. The fear that once gripped him instantly turned into relief and happiness.
"I'm just here to ask for your name… and maybe help you again?" the kind man said with a warm smile, his curiosity evident.
"I-I am Hylena! My name is Hylena, sir!" Hylena responded excitedly, his heart pounding with gratitude.
"Hylena? What a cool name for a cute kid like you! I am Ellis. Nice to meet you again, Hylena!" Ellis said, his curiosity now satisfied.
"I think we shouldn't talk like this. I mean, how about we sit over there?" Ellis suggested, gently grabbing Hylena's hand as they walked together to find a place to sit.
Once they settled, Ellis asked with curiosity and excitement, "So, where do you live? And where are your parents?"
Hylena hesitated for a moment before replying, "I live… somewhere. And about my parents… they were killed by someone, and I don't even know their face…" A sad expression crossed his face as he tried to hide his emotions.
Ellis's expression softened, guilt washing over him. "I'm sorry about that. Forgive me for asking such a question," he said, regret evident in his voice.
As many questions were thrown at Hylena, the sun slowly dove into the abyss. Their conversation had made Hylena forget to search for food for his younger siblings.
HAH!
"M-Mr... I think I must go search for food. I forgot about it," Hylena said with a panicked expression as sweat dripped from his face.
"Searching for food this late?... Hylena..." Ellis said, grabbing Hylena's hand just as he was about to leave. Hylena stopped for a moment.
"Here, take this—five hundred Freedom Currency. Go buy food," Ellis said, handing him the money.
"M-Mr!... This is too much..." Hylena said, his face a mix of disbelief and happiness.
"Just take it! I'm also in a hurry!" Ellis said before quickly walking away.
"Mr... You are so kind and tender..." Hylena said as he looked at the money in his hand, a smile forming on his face.
Hylena then ran in a panic to the nearest store to buy food. The urgency surged through his veins like a rushing river.
As the lunar glow began to rise, Hylena sprinted toward his home, his hands full of food. Until...
HUH!...
BRAAGHH!!
The food slipped from his grasp and scattered across the ground as his eyes widened in horror. The door to his home was broken and thrown aside.
He ran inside with a blank expression, his heart pounding. His mind screamed in disbelief. He prayed, begged, that his worst fears were not real.
As he stepped into his home, his breath caught in his throat.
His younger siblings lay motionless, their small bodies drenched in crimson. Soulless. Lifeless.
His vision blurred with tears as he staggered forward, collapsing beside them. With trembling hands, he embraced Charles and Sophia, their warmth long faded.
"No—no... Sophia, Charles, answer me! Please, wake up!" His voice cracked, desperation twisting his words into sobs. "I-I brought you food! Just... please, wake up!"
He pounded the ground with clenched fists, his anguished cries filling the hollow space that was once his sanctuary. His only treasures, his only family—taken.
His heaven was no more.
Blood stained his hands. Tears fell like a storm. His wails of sorrow echoed through the cold, merciless night.
"F##k!!! I'm the most failed person to ever live!!! God! Why did you send me this?! Why?!!" A desperate attempt that could never bring back his younger siblings.
He instantly became silent. His eyes filled with depression and guilt, as he had failed to protect his only opulence.
"I will deliver death to every path you take... Wherever you go, I will seek you."
