The wolf was lazily sleeping on top of a giant rock waiting for the pack to come back. Whilst sleeping it suddenly felt a presence. At first it thought that it was one of its pack members but the presence it felt from this creature was different. The creature exuded a cold yet aggressive aura. The wolf opened its ocean blue eyes and laid it eyes upon the creature in front of it. With a sudden burst of speed, the wolf lunged at him with its paw ready to strike luckily Keith was able to dodge using Flash step.
Keith appeared on top of the giant wolf's head and slashed it neck with all of his strength but the wolf used Ice armor and the attack bounced right off. Keith jumped of the wolf and landed of the ground. He outstretched his arm and a magic circle appeared on his hand and a giant ice spike appeared and he shot it at the wolf with pinpoint accuracy and speed. The wolf sensing the attack dodged with a twist of its body. the wolf howled and summoned two ice clones of itself that lunged towards Keith with the same speed as the wolf that summoned them.
"Shit," he murmured to himself as he dodged the attack of the incoming wolves using the flash step and appeared right behind them and as he was about to slash the ice clones, the giant wolf appeared behind his back and slashed him diagonally leaving three deep claw marks on his back. The ice clones turned around and slashed his chest at the same time leaving two claw marks on his chest. As they were about to attack him for the second time, he used Flash step to get on top of a tree. His wounds started closing up slowly and was fully healed after five seconds.
He got back to ground and summoned two ice lances and shot them towards the ice clones shattering them into ice crystals. He lunged towards the Alpha and swung his sword like a scythe towards the wolf's neck but his attack missed its mark due the wolf dodging. It appeared by his side and sent it paw plummeting down at him at lightning-fast speed but due to his perception it seemed the wolf's attack was a little bit slower. He dodged the attack and the paw hit the ground instead causing a small tremor in the earth and leaving a giant paw sized hole in the ground.
"Judging by the force from that strike, this soul beast is a least level 5 Soul Soldier. If its level 5 that means it's the soul rift boss," he thought to himself as he rushed towards and unleashed a barrage of sword strikes. The wolf dodged every single one his attacks without breaking a sweat because its agility and perception stat were higher than its other stats.
Keith noticing that his attacks were not even landing he decided to use the assign the last two stat points to his agility stat. Each stat increases a certain aspect of the human body in a way. The agility stat increases his movement speed, attack speed and reaction speed. The reason he put two points into his agility stat was to increase movement speed and attack speed. His movement speed so as to increase his chances of dodging it attacks and also keep up with the wolf and his attack speed to at least land a few hits on the wolf.
His movements became more fluid and faster. His attack speed had skyrocketed and with each swing of his sword he would will leave a devastating cut wound on the wolf. The wolf noticing his sudden increase in speed decided to stop holding back. The wolf howled and a giant bright blue magic circle appeared five meters above its head and ice lances came raining down at lightning-fast speed.
"I guess this boss can use a magic circle too," Keith said as he stared at the lances with an indifferent look in his golden eyes. Magic circles in this world are mainly used for the construction of runes and increase the power of a talent for example an F Rank Talent will have the power of D Rank Talent if a magic circle was used but magic circles also have their disadvantages in that casting speed is extremely slow and it takes a large amount of soul essence but the casting speed increased the higher the intelligence stat.
Keith dodged the ice lances and the ones that he couldn't dodge he would deflect using his sword. He kept dodging and weaving the attacks whilst advancing towards the wolf. After a few seconds the magic circle disappeared and the rain of ice lances stopped. The wolf lunged at him with incredible speed and tried to slash him with its claws but he sidestepped the attack and landed on top of the wolf's and slashed at its neck. Ocean blue blood gushed out from the wolf's neck.
The wolf tried using its regeneration to close wound but Keith stabbed in the neck through wound that he had opened and twisted his sword and sliced its head in half.

A small blue book appeared in his hands. The title written on the book was Arctic Armor. Talent books as the name implies is a book that can allow you to learn a talent. Talent books can only be obtained through killing a large amount of soul beasts or by killing a soul rift boss. Keith had no use for this Talent book because his class doesn't allow him to learn talent through absorbing a talent book and he can only obtain another person's talent by copying the talent from another soul awakener.
He let out a sigh and decided that he'll give this book to Suguru. "Status," he muttered and a blue status transparent panel appeared before him.
