Chapter 16 - Dangerous Encounter

Dangerous Encounter

There was one week left before starting his job as a professor at Hogwarts, so Einar was taking advantage of the time to learn about potions from this world.

There were many interesting ones, but the ingredients were quite difficult to obtain, some even illegal. While at the Leaky Cauldron, one of the wizards told him he could try asking in Knockturn Alley, but to be careful. So, Einar entered that alley calmly, where an ingredient seller told him to return in five days. Now he was there again.

"Here are all your ingredients, sir. I must say they cost more than I expected, so the price might be a bit higher," the man said as he looked at Einar with greed.

"That's fine, just give them to me. How much?" Einar asked calmly.

"A thousand galleons," the man said quickly.

Einar stared at him and placed the coins on the table. The man grabbed them quickly, afraid Einar would change his mind, and began bringing out boxes filled with jars of all kinds of ingredients.

"Here's everything, sir. It's been a pleasure doing business with you. You can come by whenever you run out," the man said hastily.

Einar gave the ingredients a quick glance and stored everything in his magic bag before leaving the shop. As the man watched him leave, a disdainful smile appeared on his face.

"Fool," he said with a greedy smile.

Einar was walking to return to Diagon Alley and then head home, as the next day he would have to go to Hogwarts. But he quickly realized that someone was following him.

"Sigh. Just come out. The assassin guild would laugh at you seeing how bad you are at your job," Einar said while looking around.

Quickly, many dark wizards and witches smiled as they surrounded him.

"That's quite a lot of people for a simple robbery or murder," Einar said, looking at the more than ten individuals surrounding him.

"Haha, well, a big sponsor paid quite a lot for us to hurt you badly," said the one who seemed to be the leader.

"And who's this sponsor? To be honest, I made quite a few enemies just this week," Einar said calmly, looking at everyone with mockery.

"That doesn't matter. But first, let's remove that mask and see your pleading expression," said a man as he raised his wand and aimed it at Einar's face.

"Accio!"

But Einar dodged the spell, which hit a barrel behind everyone and flew toward the man, who quickly dodged it, causing the barrel to crash into the wall behind him and shatter.

"Tsk, stop playing around, idiot. Let's just do our job," said another man, pointing his wand at Einar. "Crucio!"

Once again, Einar easily dodged the spell, which hit one of their companions.

"Ahh! Stop!" the man screamed as he fell to the ground in agonizing pain. It was only a few seconds, but that pain was something no one would want to feel even for an instant.

"Bastard!" said the man getting up from the ground, quickly pointing his wand. "Avada Kedavra!"

Einar felt the danger of that spell, which was also quite fast. So, he quickly ducked to dodge it, and it kept going, hitting one of the men, who collapsed to the ground without breathing.

Einar looked at the dead man and spoke.

"I was only planning to hurt you a little because I have work tomorrow, but you had to make things worse," he said, looking at the man while drawing two black and red daggers.

Everyone quickly raised their wands, staring at the daggers in Einar's hands and feeling that they weren't ordinary daggers.

"ZUN HAAL VIIK!"

Then all the wizards' wands flew away, disarming them all at once.

Einar took advantage of their moment of confusion and began to move with speed, slashing their tendons with both daggers, leaving them lying on the ground one by one.

The other dark wizards who were watching the scene quickly ran away when they saw the blood spill. Although Einar hadn't killed any of them, they wouldn't be able to use their hands or feet again without tendons, and they wouldn't be healed thanks to several of the enchantments the daggers had.

"So, who's your sponsor?" Einar asked the leader of the dark wizards while placing his dagger against his neck.

"I'll tell you... I'll tell you, just don't kill me. I was just following orders. We were simply asked to take off one of your limbs and then leave you anywhere," the man said in fear, looking at his companions lying on the ground drenched in blood, crying in pain while unable to move their hands or legs.

"Then who?" Einar asked one last time.

"------------

"Is it really okay for you to have done that, Lucius? That man with the mask didn't seem like an easy person. If he were from a pure-blood family from another country..."

"Don't worry. Even if he's from a pure-blood family from another country, they have to step back when they tread on our land," Lucius said with disdain as he walked with his wife toward their mansion.

Then Lucius opened the door but quickly felt something strange, so he drew his wand, getting into a defensive stance.

His wife saw her husband and quickly did the same as she followed him.

They both walked toward the living room, keeping their wands raised.

They were surprised to see someone who shouldn't be there, sitting calmly while drinking a glass of alcohol and looking at them with interest.

"Curious taste. It's not a great alcohol, but it's not so bad either," Einar said while tasting the whiskey Lucius had been saving for a special occasion.

"What are you doing here, and how did you get in?" Lucius said, pointing his wand at Einar.

"I believe I told you before that if you pointed that thing at me, your arm would fly so far away you'd never see it again, right?" Einar said as he moved at a speed that practically made him vanish from Lucius and Narcissa's sight.

Then Lucius felt emptiness in his arm and saw that it was missing.

"Aaah!" he screamed as the pain hit him.

Meanwhile, Einar had returned to his seat as if he had never moved.

"Do you want to experience the same thing?" Einar asked, looking in Narcissa's direction.

Seeing her husband lying on the floor, clutching his arm tightly, she quickly dropped her wand in fear.

"That's good. I'm just looking for the one who gave the orders. You would only be collateral damage," Einar said.

"Now, to the reason I came. Now tell me why I shouldn't kill you right here and now," Einar said, looking at Lucius with contempt.

"I... I'll give you money. I have lots of money, I'll give you anything you want, just don't hurt me," Lucius said quickly.

"Wow, instant surrender. But I'm not interested in your money. By the way, that place was your business, right? That one and several others were destroyed by me," Einar said with a smile.

"What?" Lucius said in shock.

Then he saw how many messenger pigeons began bringing letters, quickly piling up one on top of another.

"Looks like the news is just arriving. The magical world's communication method is quite terrible," Einar said as he opened one of the letters and tossed it in front of Lucius.

The letter stated that his shop in a certain place had been burned down, leaving nothing but ashes. Many others said almost the same thing.

"My... My wife... You can have her," Lucius said quickly, shocking Narcissa, who was standing fearfully not far away.

"What are you saying, Lucius?" Narcissa shouted quickly.

"Although your wife may be a beauty, I'm not that kind of person. For now, let's leave it at this since I've already done enough damage. But next time, there won't be such a friendly visit, alright?" Einar said as he crouched down to be face-to-face with Lucius, holding a black and red dagger in his hand.

Lucius quickly nodded in fear, feeling the danger emanating from that dagger.

"Tsk. Because of all this nonsense, I missed the introduction as a professor at Hogwarts. I'm going to use your fireplace, you don't mind, do you?" Einar said quickly.

Both of them were surprised to hear he would be a professor at their son's school. But when they heard the last part, they quickly allowed him to use it without hesitation.

"Then, goodbye. By the way, the smell of that dark mark is disgusting," Einar said while throwing powder into the fireplace and appearing in the headmaster's office.

"Mark?" Narcissa said while raising her arm to look at the Dark Lord's mark, which was becoming more distinct.

"-------

"Einar? Weren't you supposed to be heading to Hogwarts?" Arthur asked, seeing Einar appear outside his house.

"Yes, I forgot something. I was on my way. Where are you going?" Einar asked, noticing Arthur was leaving in a hurry.

"A friend of mine got into trouble. I'm going to see what happened," Arthur said quickly.

"Then I'll come with you. Anyway, it's nighttime to use the Hogwarts fireplace," Einar said quickly.

They went together. Since it seemed they couldn't use Floo Powder to reach their destination, they had to travel by the Knight Bus.
