Chapter 4 - PART FOUR: VENICE

We were supposed to be studying for mocks honestly it was what we had agreed with the girls when we had come over to my place again. Mother and Father weren't speaking to me, and that was fine with me. We had never been that close anyway so I didn't bother letting them know that Jenn and Felicity were coming over. We sat in different places in my room, and we had been studying for the past two hours. I was getting tired pretty quickly.

"Guys, I think my brain is fried for today, I bet yours is too Felicity," Jenn said and I nodded agreeing instantly. I was tired too.

"I can go all day like this, I feel like I Haven't studied enough," Felicity said and nearly at the same time Jenn and I slapped our foreheads.

"You study EVERY MINUTE OF THE DAY!" I burst out and Felicity just laughed at my outburst. I mean I was curious too my mind wasn't settling either. She said her brother had given her an idea and I was dying to now what it was already. we closed and packed our books as Felicity was explaining. And at the end of the explanation I was genuinely impressed with the theory.

"He told me there are two types of ink that artists can use for when they reveal their works for clients to give it a dramatic opening. One can be pressure-sensitive ink, the other can be heat activated ink," she explained and Jenn took one of the papers from my bag and asked,

"Pressure-sensitive, explain?"

"It means that it can be revealed when the paper is crumbled or-"

Jenn goes ahead to squash the paper in her hands and the re open it again. Somehow I wasn't even shocked with my behaviour I was equally impatient. We observed the paper and there was nothing that came of it so that was a no go.

"Maybe heat could be the reason?" I asked and I went to our store in the hallway and looked through it to find a candle inside. I locked it up and brought the candle. We didn't have a lighter and I just happened to have one of Jaces' lighters in my bag. Lucky me. I took the crumbled paper after lighting it and closed my eyes praying that this madness would end. I put the paper a little over the fire and when we looked under it there were faint sketches appearing.

"Shit no way!" Jenn exclaimed and my heart was racing. So they weren't just pieces of paper but I shouldn't put my hopes up yet. We waited but it was taking longer than we intended and we started to see the outline of an eyes then lips, then hands and then finally the facial features.

What. the. actual, hell?

It was so beautiful, I couldn't imagine someone drew this in invisible ink. Even thought the signing was done in a portrait standing the picture was landscaped and so realistic.

"I don't know how to break it to you girl, this is beautiful," Jenn said and Felicity nodded her head in complete agreement.

"This is absolute art, my brother would pay prices for this. And its merely on a piece of paper?! What a waste honestly," They said among themselves and admired it, but all I could do was stare at the wall behind me. I seemed to be the only who noticed, the wall looked extremely similar to the one in the drawing. I took the paper from Jenn and slowly rose comparing it to where it may have been taken from.

"What are you doing Venice?" Felicity asked but I couldn't answer. I was freaking out and curious at the same time. I stood and moved back, standing a little further from where it was taken from. I circled the room my friends wondering what the hell I was doing. Felicity must have caught on because she stood behind me as I held the drawing.

I moved back, more and more and more.

I opened my balcony and stepped back more, and I silently got on top of one of the rails. I stood there familiar with the structure of it and looked at my room then the drawing again. The similarities were clear as day. Even the slightest details like where my make-up sits, to how I arranged my books. It was perfect. And I looked at the girl next, there was something unsettling. I might have thought this was a crazy stalker the next but it seemed there were gaps in the drawing. And thank God they used colours because the gap was noticeable too.

"I wanna burn more," I said as I re lighted the candle and with shaky hands and watched if anything new appears with the drawing. Nothing. It remained as it was when we first saw it. So that's it mystery solved? I didn't believe it. There was something there and it wasn't going to go unnoticed by me.

"So congratulations you have an artistic stalker, which is cute and creepy at the same time."

I wanted to tell Jenna that there was nothing cute about this.
