Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Teen Team!

This was the part where Mark Grayson, the main guy, This day gets his powers. I remembered it clear as day—he's taking out the trash one night, throws the bag, and boom, it flies way farther than it should. That's when he realizes he's just got his power like his dad omni man, so he's not a normal kid anymore; he's got Viltrumite strength kicking in. It's the start of everything for him.

I wiped crumbs off my hands and started walking again, the bag of new clothes swinging under my arm. A thought popped into my head: why not meet Mark? If I timed it right, I could catch him when he tries to fly for the first time. In the show, after he figures out he's strong, he sneaks out at midnight to test it—jumping off the ground, wobbly at first, figuring out he can float in the sky. I could be there, see it happen, maybe even talk to him. It'd be cool to meet the guy before all the chaos hits.

I wasn't as scared as I'd been a month ago, either. Back then, waking up in this cursed body with no clue what was going on, I'd been a mess. But now? I had Infinity around me that stopped anything physical—punches, bullets, whatever. No matter how strong someone was, they couldn't touch me unless I let them. Even Omni-Man, with all his crazy Viltrumite power, couldn't just smash through it with a fist. That made me feel safer, cockier even. Sure, he could kill me if he got creative—say, by blowing up the whole planet or something wild like that—but a straight-up fight? I'd be fine.

Plus, I'd figured out more about this body. I didn't need to breathe. I'd tested it a few days ago, teleporting high into the sky where the air got thin, then out into space for a minute. No gasping, no choking—just me, floating above the Earth, staring at the stars. I didn't need oxygen to live, which made sense for a curse, I guess. It meant I could go anywhere—space, underwater, didn't matter. Omni-Man might be a threat down the line, but right now, I wasn't sweating it too much.

So, the plan was simple. I'd wait until night, use my legal ways to find Mark's house, pr you know just follow omni man when he is flying or more correctly his marks, my six eyes can see more than what even can I explain—I'd recognize him from the show, that mop of black hair and that awkward teenage vibe. Then I'd teleport over when he snuck out to try flying. I could hang back, watch him figure it out, maybe step in and say hi. "Hey, kid, nice powers," or something chill like that. He wouldn't know who I was, but that was fine—I'd just be some weird guy with white hair and glowing eyes, no big deal.

I kept strolling through the city, munching on one of the candy bars I'd bought. The streets were loud—cars honking, people yelling, a siren wailing somewhere far off. The news screens flickered with more hero stuff, but I tuned it out.

I was just about to teleport away, my mind set on finding Mark later that night, when a loud boom echoed through the city. It wasn't far—maybe a few blocks over—and it wasn't just one explosion. Another bang followed, then a rumble like something heavy crashing. I paused, candy bar still in hand, curiosity tugging at me. What was going on? I figured I'd check it out—couldn't hurt to take a quick look. So, I turned toward the noise and teleported, popping onto a rooftop closer to the action.

When I got there, I saw what was making all the racket. Down on the street below, the Teen Team was fighting some big, ugly mutated villain. I recognized them right away from the show—Atom Eve, Rex Splode, Robot, and Dupli-Kate, all in their colorful costumes, working together like a well-oiled machine. Well, mostly. The villain was a mess—tall, maybe ten feet, with slimy green skin, bulging muscles, and these weird tentacle things whipping around from its back. It roared, smashing a car into the ground, sending chunks of pavement flying.

Robot stood off to the side, his metal body gleaming under the streetlights, barking orders in that calm, mechanical voice of his. "Rex, target its left flank! Eve, prioritize civilian evacuation!" He sounded like he had it all under control, scanning the fight with those glowing eyes. Rex Splode, being Rex, ignored half of it. He was chucking those explosive balls of his at the villain, yelling, "Yeah, yeah, I got it!" One hit the mutant square in the chest, blowing off a chunk of gooey flesh, but it just growled and kept swinging.

Atom Eve was zipping around on the sidelines, her pink energy glowing as she used her powers to lift fallen debris off trapped people. She waved her hands, and a busted wall floated up, letting a couple of scared civilians scramble free. "Go, get out of here!" she shouted, her voice sharp but kind. She kept one eye on the fight, ready to jump in if things got worse.

Dupli-Kate was right in the thick of it, doing her thing. She'd split into a dozen copies of herself, all running around the villain, yelling and waving to keep its attention. The mutant lashed out, grabbing one of her clones with a tentacle and hurling it into a building. The clone smashed through a window and vanished in a puff—gone, just like that. Another clone got squashed under a massive fist, popping out of existence. But Dupli-Kate didn't flinch; she just kept making more, her real self dodging behind a wrecked car. "Over here, you big freak!" one of her copies shouted, right before it got swatted into the pavement.

I teleported again, landing on top of a taller building nearby, giving me a perfect view of the chaos. The villain was tearing the place apart. It grabbed another Dupli-Kate clone and chucked it hard, smashing it into the side of a shop. Glass shattered, and the wall caved in with a loud crunch. Then it stomped, cracking the road under its feet, sending spiderweb fractures through the asphalt. A streetlight toppled over, sparking as it hit the ground. The Teen Team was holding their own, but this thing was strong, and it wasn't slowing down.

My eyes, picking up every detail—the heat rolling off the villain, the way Rex's explosions flared, the faint glow of Eve's energy. Infinity buzzed around me, keeping me safe even if a stray chunk of concrete came my way. I wasn't planning to jump in—not yet, anyway.

'Maybe I should help and introduce myself, I can't really stay hidden even if I want to, or maybe I have already been discovered by cecil. Because of my teleportation on public sites and whatnot.'
