Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Spies, Lies, and a Guy Who Won’t Shut Up!

Rex groaned as he pushed himself up, rolling his shoulders and stretching his arms. The pain was gone, his bones solid again, thanks to my RCT.

He glanced at me, his face scrunched up like he'd swallowed something sour. "Alright, fine," he muttered, rubbing his neck. "Thanks for the patch-up, weirdo. Guess I'm not dying today."

Before I could bask in the gratitude, he pointed a finger at me, narrowing his eyes. "But hold up—why're you even here? Teen Team's for teenagers, y'know? You're, what, pushing thirty? You're too old for this gig, man."

I laughed, loud and bright, waving him off like it was the funniest thing I'd heard all day. "Oh, come on, Rexy! I'm in my prime—twenty-something and fabulous! Age is just a number, and I've got the energy of a kid hyped up on sugar. You're not kicking me out that easy."

Rex crossed his arms, not buying it. "Nah, nah, you'd fit way better with the Guardians of the Globe—those big-shot adults with capes and serious faces. Not us. We're the young, cool heroes on the rise. Plus, you look like you're auditioning for a sunglasses commercial, not a teen squad."

I grinned wider, leaning in like I was sharing a secret. "Oh, please. You kids need some adult supervision. Without me, you'd still be a crumpled heap over there, crying for mommy. I'm basically your guardian angel now—lucky you!"

Rex huffed, kicking at a pebble on the ground. "Yeah, okay, fine—it's better than being half-dead, I'll give you that. But don't think you've earned a spot on the team yet, hotshot. You're still some random dude who showed up."

I smirked, stepping closer and ruffling his hair just to mess with him. "Aw, Rex, don't be like that! You guys need me—look at how fast I fixed you up. I'm doing you all a favor by sticking around. Admit it, I'm already your MVP."

He swatted my hand away, glaring up at me. "Get off me, you clown! We've already got one guy with a god complex—Robot over there. Don't need another jerk with acting like he owns the place."

Robot's head swiveled toward us, his voice cutting in, flat and precise. "Incorrect, Rex. I do not possess a 'god complex.' My actions are dictated by logic and efficiency, not ego. Your assessment is flawed."

Rex threw his hands up, exasperated. "See? That's what I mean! Mr. Perfect here's already enough. We don't need two know-it-alls flexing their powers and talking like they're better than us!"

I ignored him completely, slinging an arm around his shoulders and pulling him in like we were old pals. "Oh, Rexy, you're so cute when you're mad. Guess what? We're gonna be best buds now—me and you, unstoppable! You'll thank me later."

Rex grumbled, squirming under my arm but not shoving me off. "Kill me now," he muttered, rolling his eyes so hard I thought they'd pop out. But there was a tiny smirk tugging at his mouth, like he was annoyed but maybe, just maybe, starting to get used to me. I squeezed his shoulder, grinning like an idiot. Oh yeah, he's stuck with me now.

Just as Rex was grumbling under my arm and the Teen Team was still trying to wrap their heads around me, a low hum cut through the air.

A sleek GDA transport rolled up, all black and shiny, with a team of agents hopping out to secure the unconscious mutated villain.

They slapped some high-tech cuffs on its tentacles and started hauling it into the back. Then, with a faint pop of light, Cecil Stedman appeared right in the middle of the scene—teleporting in like it was no big deal.

He was an older guy, sharp suit, gray hair, face set in a permanent "I've seen it all" frown. He glanced at the wrecked street, then at us, looking unimpressed but with a glint of interest in his eyes.

"Robot. Report."

Robot pressed a button on his wrist. "Situation resolved. The mutated villain has been neutralized with no casualties. However, an unknown individual assisted. White-haired, blindfolded, highly capable—neutralized the threat in seconds."

Cecil stepped forward to Gojo's side, hands behind his back, and spoke up, his voice calm but firm.

"Cecil Stedman, Director of the Global Defense Agency. We handle threats like this and keep the world from falling apart. Appreciate the assist, Teen Team." His gaze slid to me, narrowing slightly.

"You, though—I don't know you. Who are you, what did you just do to that thing, and why don't we have a single file on you?"

Robot piped up, rolling closer. "Correct. My analysis confirms no record exists of a superhuman with these capabilities in any database. The neutralization was executed with unprecedented efficiency—unmatched by known profiles."

Cecil's voice cut back in, sharp. "Listen, hotshot. You show up outta nowhere, no background, no history, and you're strong enough to wipe the floor with a mutant in one hit. That makes you dangerous. So unless you wanna be on my bad side, you'd better start talking."

I grinned, rocking back on my heels, hands in my pockets. "Oh, wow, big intro! I'm Gojo Satoru, nice to meet ya! What'd I do? Eh, just a little push-and-pull trick—y'know, gravity stuff, super simple. I'm like a magician, but cooler. No records? Guess some hacker would have done it, Though I assure you and GDA I'm not a villain or anything, I'm here to help my young teens here!" I winked, keeping it light and vague, my tone dripping with that Gojo charm. Cecil's frown deepened, but he didn't snap or push me hard.

He just stared, like he was sizing me up. He's smart—probably figures I'm not worth fighting yet. Too much hassle, and I just bailed out his kids. Plus, he's got bigger fish to fry than some random guy who's not causing trouble… for now.

Silence. Then a tired sigh. "Oh, great. Another jackass with an ego. Just what I needed."

'Is Ceceil got a degree in roasting…?'

Rex snorted. "Right? That's what I was sayin'!"

"Shut up Rex."

'See!'

Cecil didn't say much more than that, but I could tell he was suspicious. He'd just watched me take down a mutated freak in seconds—something the Teen Team had been wrestling with for ages—and I didn't even break a sweat.

His eyes flicked to the villain being loaded up, then back to me. He was thinking I was a wildcard—someone who could be a problem if I went rogue, but also a goldmine if he could use me right.

'Guy like him's seen too many loose cannons to trust me off the bat, but he's not dumb—he knows power when he sees it.'

"…Tch. Alright. You're lucky I've got bigger problems to deal with today. But don't think I'm letting this slide Or anything about you."

He adjusted his tie, gave me one last hard look, and turned to the GDA agents. "Get that thing secured. We'll debrief later." No push, no fight—just a mental note to keep tabs on me. Perfect.

But last comment from cecil as he was gonna go, "We have much to talk about, but now my mind is elsewhere. You gotta come to GDA soon… Understand."

I saluted him like he could see me. "Got it, boss! Looking forward to our little heart-to-heart."

Cecil grumbled something under his breath—probably a curse—then cut the connection.

Cecil didn't wait for more. As he walked off, he pulled out his communicator and spoke to Robot.

"Let him on the team for now," he ordered.

Robot hesitated for only a second. "You believe he can be trusted?"

"No," Cecil said flatly. "Which is why I want you to keep an eye on him. Report everything he does and says. I've got something planned for later, but for now, you're in the best position to monitor him." He glanced back over his shoulder before continuing.

"Let him join the Teen Team. You'll be able to watch him closely, and he'll be tested on your ttam missions. I need to know how he handles himself. We need certain individuals for certain threats… and I need to know if he fits that category or the other one where he is a threat."

Robot processed the order before responding. "Understood. But…"

"Now what?!"

"… I think he is a little mentally unstable from the way he is speaking and acting."

"Then all the more reason to keep tabs on him and monitor him.

"Understood… I won't let you down sir."

"I know… And how he healed Rex… keep an eye on that ability… though I would assess when he comes to GDA Later."

"I Understand."

Cecil after his chat with the robot exhaled, already thinking three steps ahead.

After Cecil gave the ok okay, I laughed. "Pfft, probably. But hey, I like a little attention." I said this as I heard Cecil, about how robots have to look for me and update Cecil on me for everything.

I clapped my hands together, flashing my signature grin. "Now, where were we? Oh right—I was joining the team! So, when do I get my official welcome party?"

Eve sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "I cannot tell if you're joking or serious."

I winked. "Both."

A/N: Stones and Comment… As I have given you a chapter in the morning and that too a big one…🫠 but sure to comment as I'm reading all the comment and if you have any question just ask in comment and I'll answer.

Oh yeah! I just saw a great edit… question: you see gojo from a human perspective… but not as Cursed Spirit.

You will shit your pants if you were cursed spirit and saw gojo how he looks like a demon god from a cursed spirit PoV.
