Chapter 25 - 25)Oro Oro Oro Oro

"Iori.... what's your favorite color?" his messy yet perfect golden hair locks made his orange eyes look far more vicious than ever. In his palm lay a unique and shiny gemstone, one that he seemed to be working on, although its purpose seemingly eluded most observers.

"My lord….I suppose my answer would be blue," Iori replied after carefully considering the question. After all, The Supreme Dio Aethereus would never ask meaningless questions, or so he thought.

"Hmmmm…" Dio pondered as he looked at Iori, whose plain brown hair and pretty eyelashes complemented his rather slender physique. The most recognizable feature of Iori was his left arm. His pale skin acted as a canvas, and the sleeve full of tattoos offset the background color giving an overall striking look. "Any particular type of blue?"

"Perhaps Cerulean blue," Iori replied earnestly. To have someone who trusts you so deeply and consistently...it was rare but monumental. However, Dio was just grateful, nothing more. He failed to recognize the foundation a trusted subordinate provides. Perhaps that was why his fall was so impactful.

"I see. What about me then, what color do I remind you of?"

"…." Iori's eyes widened at the sudden question, "My Lord…how could I answer such a question about someone as great as you…" he bowed his head down while finishing his sentence.

"Nonsense, I have nobody else to ask. So please tell me," Dio sounded sincere and eager.

"In that case…..I would say a deep purple is the color that suits you the most My Lord. Purple has always been a sign of royalty and greatness, it is most apt for someone such as yourself,"

The gemstone showed no reaction at first before it slowly burst into a very dark and deep splash of purple, the gemstone seemed infinite as it continued to emit the color. Dio merely cocked his head and wondered what this meant. Why was the purple radiating so unnaturally?

"…Dio Aethereus….from this moment on, you are a member of the mysterious House of Oro!"

'Who?' he remarked to himself mentally. He was more than happy with the House he received, in the first place, it mattered very little to him, at least at the moment. Nevertheless, he hadn't heard of Oro before. It couldn't be that he had no recollection of it, it was Dio.

Another wave of murmurs and chatter overtook the crowd, the members of the Purple House seemed a little more agitated than excited. After all, they were unsure of whether Dio's presence in their House was a blessing or a curse.

"A rather fitting color for someone like me, no?" Dio returned to his seat and asked Alex, who was a little nervous after looking at the crowd's reaction to her friend.

"....."

"At least its not the same as Jin's" Alex remarked to diffuse the situation, she was most appalled by his carefree attitude, almost like he couldn't hear or see anyone around him.

While the sorting was random, certain cliques began to form. For example, those from the House of Noxia Draconis focused mainly on their battle prowess, they were aggressive and prideful, however, they were dependable and are one of the powerhouses of the school.

Contrary to the Crimson House, the House of Oro were mysterious and rather aloof. Some students viewed them as eerie, while other referred to them as goofy. Simply put, they weren't necessarily viewed as dependable and were far from being considered the powerhouses.

The ceremony progressed as it would've and all the new applicants were sorted. Hexora's Houses were more than just for competition. In truth, each of the Houses were given a tower to protect and stay in. As their achievements and ranks grew so did their position. At the top of each tower resided the House master along with his deputies.

The House masters did not function as guards or generals purely, they were professors who grew along with the students and reinforced the overall defense of the fortress. The stronger bunch of the students were allowed to take part in defense should such a situation ever occur.

"This color suits me," Dio raised his shoulders and turned around to get a proper look at himself, each room was assigned two students, meaning he would soon be meeting his roommate. "But then again every color does," the default uniform underneath their House gowns were dark gray, brown or black. Dio's purple gown went well with the black uniform.

"A King is deserving of an abode for himself," Dio spoke as he looked around the room, it had a bed on each side and a window in the middle, a table at the end of both the beds along with a mini shelf above the desk. "Next would be a subject…..where would I find my first subject?" he thought aloud as the room door swung open.

His eyes met with a familiar face, brown eyes, timid nature, but for the first time those brown eyes seemed to have a glow within them. "You are!!!"

"Huh? It's yo-"

"Thank you!" the boy bowed down sincerely, "you saved my life, I don't deserve to be here, but I was taken in anyway," droplets fell down onto the ground as John held his position.

"…." Dio was caught slightly off guard by the gesture, nevertheless he regained his composure, "that's in the past, we can move past it," he recalled his fight with John and couldn't make sense of how he was accepted into Hexora.

"I know I shouldn't be here….I think It was probably pity…" John said as he scratched his head and smiled, his eyes defied his expression as they withheld a relatable sadness.

'Ahh so that was it…'

The situation likely involved Jin's family. If they couldn't kick out Jin, then they couldn't do it to John. After all, it was determined that there was no empirical proof of Jin's actions. Perhaps this was Hexora's retaliation against the pressure put on them by powerful families.

"I'm extremely grateful for you and hope to learn a lot from the time we spend together," John said with determination, unaware that Dio really had no interest in teaching someone something.

"Likewise…" Dio wasn't too thrilled on sharing his room, however, it looked like John's presence could be considered negligible. Nevertheless, he found it odd. The probability of John getting into the House of Oro, as well as, being assigned to the same room as him was low. There was nothing to question though, the sorting system was entirely random, if Hexora did play a role in this then it is likely they had a hand in the room assignment.
