Iori Crypt, Istopan Phoenix, Noxia Draconis, Karma Izabch, Oro, and Fausto Marloux. These were the names of the Houses, each assigned a color and a unique symbol representing it. Each and every one of them was a founding figure who aided in the establishment of Hexora.
Thus, they were then used as the figures of each house, giving the students a sense of pride and purpose, no matter the house. However, certain unanswered questions remained, such as how the gemstone functioned.
However, that was not of importance to Hexora, as the gemstone perfectly played the role of sorting the students into different Houses. Every time a student placed their hand upon the stone, it would emit a certain color which then dictates which House they are placed into.
Dio stepped into the central grounds, the most auspicious location where the speeches and other such events or ceremonies take place. Thousands of students were seated all around him, the majority of whom were there merely for spectating. These included the seniors of every house.

'…..' He looked at the hair on his arms standing up, he wasn't sure why his body reacted in such a manner. Every single one of the students there was proficient in some form of magic or mystical arts. Even if they were weaker in terms of raw strength, they could not be looked down upon.
The two of them had taken their seats amongst the other newly selected students and the ceremony had begun shortly after. Without any delay, a man with sharp ears and rich golden hair stood at the podium in the center.
'An elf….' Dio thought to himself, while other races were not uncommon, it was always a pleasant sight.
"That's the vice principal of Hexora….Thyren Gaius," Alex whispered as she stared at the green robes that neatly fit over the elf's body.
"Good evening fellow members of Hexora, I am Thyren Gaius, the Vice Principal of this esteemed institution. For those of you who have been newly admitted, today marks an important day. Not only is it your first official day as a student but it is the day where you receive your inner family. Your House is not merely a team or a group of members you work with. They are called Houses for a reason so there exists extreme value in being a part of them,"
"The instructions are pretty simple, when your name is called, please step forward and come onto the stage, you will then introduce yourself however you see fit and place your hand upon this valued mechanism," he pointed to the pearl-like gem placed on a stand of some sort, "after a few seconds, the gemstone will decide which House you are placed into. Please know that there can be no considerations made. The gemstone's decision is akin to an ultimatum and cannot be deliberated no matter the situation,"
"Now then, let us begin!" his voice echoed throughout the grounds, cheers and voices from all around as the students and professors were eager to see the results.
"Jin Godfrey! Come forward!"
"Oh! So they're going in terms of most asshole like to least, nice," Dio remarked as he watched Jin slowly walk up to the stage. Alex, on the other hand, had her eyes fixed on him. The wind did not affect his perfectly tightened hair bun, rather his robe fluttered as he stood there motionless for a second.
"I am Jin, and I aim to seek the heart of a particular woman in the crowd," his eyes narrowed onto Dio.
"?????? Why the fuck is he looking at me," Dio made a vulgar face only to realize that Jin's gaze wasn't directed at him but rather at the person sitting next to him, his closest friend, Alex.
The ooo's and aah's coming from the crowd almost didn't seem to end. Clearly, the majority of the women seemed to think he was referring to one of them. However, Dio was on the verge of puking, Jin's actions made him seem a little too cheesy, which wasn't exactly Dio's favorite.
"Place your hand on the gemstone young Jin," Thyren said out loud, instantly killing any remaining excitement in the crowd, he had nearly no reaction to what Jin had said, or perhaps he did and simply maintained his composure. Nevertheless, based on his personality, Thyren despised Jin's kind. The snotty and callous kind.
He calmly placed his hand over the mechanism and a few seconds later an enticing scarlet light radiated from the gemstone, almost as if the gemstone knew of his desire to win over Alex, it threw Jin into the Crimson-coloured House of Noxia Draconis.
"Jin Godfrey, from this moment on, you are now a member of the House of Noxia Draconis!" before the announcement ended, cheers from all over the crowd were heard, in particular, those who belonged to the Crimson House.
"….Don't think there's some fate at play here because your hair and his House color are the same," Dio snorted as he looked at Alex.
"Shut up!" he turned her rosy face away and looked down.
Once he returned to his seat, the crowd's anticipation only grew more, they were excited to hear the next announcement and who would be called.
However, for the first time ever, the students noticed the vice principal's face slightly twist, he hesitated for a second before proceeding to read out the name. The reason for which was of course evident.
"….Dio Aethereus Wolfriver!" Thyren's voice roared as the entire crowd fell silent. That was a name that was practically passed down in their DNA and history textbooks, there existed nobody who didn't know what that name signified. The Supreme. The Absolute. The All Handsome.
Murmurs and chattering ensued, loud enough to compare to the cheers that took place when Jin was called. Alex looked to her side and saw Dio whose face brimmed with confidence, "maybe you were right about the asshole order," she smiled before wishing him.
There was no denying his appearance, he was certainly one of the most good looking, however, who in their right mind would take the name of The Supreme? It wasn't against the law but it was seen as disrespectful.
Every step that he took echoed throughout the silent grounds. Nervousness and anxiety had struck every one present there. Dio stepped onto the stage and turned around.
"I am Dio Aethereus Wolfriver," he said while emphasizing more on the Wolfriver, "and I'm beautiful," he flicked his hair and turned around, without waiting for another second he placed his hand onto the mechanism.
