The hall was quiet, a man with a white robe, a golden hair and blue eyes walked down the hallway, his steps echoing throughout the hallway, he reached the doors which were gigantic and then he said." Salem". And immediately the gigantic doors were open, and he came into the room which was large and filled with mirrors as long as the doors.Then an image appeared and the man bent on his knee and greeted " High Elder your servant is at your service" and he replied. "Gilgamesh, your disciple has awoken, go and find him at once". The man stood up and was about leaving but stopped, facing the door and asked the Elder; 'How long does this one have to live before he dies?' Suddenly another image appeared and said ' Lord Gilgamesh do as you are told, leave at once!!'. With a grin on his face he left the room.
Meanwhile, back at the capital, the people are celebrating the night of the Elders, a carnival where everyone celebrates how the the elders saved them from going into extinction. Sliver, a frail looking teenage boy who was looking for a way to get food by any means necessary stumbled upon a royal guard who was drunk, then the guard turned to see who just bumped into him and found out that it was sliver and then he shouted at him to watch were he is going, and asked the boy. ' Do you know who I am?'. Sliver, being so frustrated and hungry then shouted at the guard,' I don't care who you are!!, what can you possibly do in this your drunken state?'. The guard feeling embarrassed and angry quickly grab sliver by his shirt, lifted him up and said 'repeat what you just said'. Sliver used this chance and poked his eyes and took off with the guard's money.
Running with all his might, sliver didn't stop to look back at who his pursuers were, on reaching a dead end he jumped on one of the roofs of a stake seller and flew to the roof of the house close by, when he turned back to see if he had lost some of the guards he noticed he was still being followed and immediately the person caught up with him and pinned him down to the ground. Upon being caught he was still struggling to break free, the royal guard he stole from then came from behind and said to him. 'Do you know what we do to thieves like you?, we cut off their hands, break their legs and cut off their tongues.' Sliver was so terrified because as that moment he didn't know what to do, he said in his mind " is this how I finally end, well if so it's not that bad, at least I don't get to suffer anymore". He smiled and looked at the guard who was now confused at his sudden change of emotions. He asked "what's so funny?". " I wasn't laughing, just smiling at my demise". Replied sliver. " Your demise?". Asked a guard by his side. ' who laughs at their deaths'. While they were talking a sudden snow storm started coming their way, then someone shouted; ' It's back!!'. ' The ice beast is back, take shelter all of you.' suddenly the guards left sliver running to take shelter against the beast, sliver, not knowing where to run to just jumped into the ice mist, still looking for where to take shelter when he saw the beast, fiercely looking. The beast, huge, had the shape of a lion, with wings and two tails that could carry a person. It stared into Sliver's eyes, sliver was frozen with fear, upon the fact that he had long wished for death, but looking at this beast made all the thought of death leave him, with his head pounding and his heart racing all sliver could hear now was echos of people running and screaming, his visions began to blurr, his feets were numb and cold he couldn't move frozen out of fear, he started seeing himself slowly falling down to the ground. And he said 'Finally'. his eyelids closing slowly and then he felt a surge of energy flowing through his body as if he was being revived by a Duke.
When Sliver regained his consciousness, he looked around to see where he was, but couldn't grasp sight of anyone so he stood up went close to the burning fire which had some roasted meat and some freshly baked bread by the side, he rushed the meat and bread and then said out loud, "whoever you are that brought this meat thank you." Still in the eating process, a voice came out from the woods and said in a low tune, "you eat like there's no tomorrow". Shocked at the voice he heard, Sliver turned with fear at the direction the voice was coming from and asked the man " who are you". He replied " Am Lord Gilgamesh, the 7th Duke and you will be my disciple." Still in utter confusion he stood up from where he was seated and said " I don't know you, neither do you know me, so how is it possible for me to become your disciple,a disciple of a Duke? no,no,no, no,and no." The man now stepped out of the woods were he was standing, his aura was intimidating, his golden hair glittered and his blue eyes were very visible cause of the night moonlight. His robe was like that of a warrior duke, so his appearance preceded him. Sliver was astonished by the elegance of the man, on the other hand the man didn't even bother about the way he was making Sliver feel. He said, " don't get too clumsy, you'll get used to it ". " Wait, what?" What's this feeling am having just by me looking at you, it's....." Sliver then asked " what did you say you name was again?". " Gilgamesh, that's my name. But you'll call me Lord Gilgamesh in public for formalities sake, do you understand?" Sliver nodded in agreement still trying to think of what to say. Then Gilgamesh said " do you know what happened to you at the city?." Silver said " I was just standing in front of the beast and all of a sudden I woke up here ". " You have been chosen as a bilateral host for the beast, the spirit beast's name is ice fang and it chose you to be it's host..." " Wait wait wait, how will I become ...or how did I become a host for such a powerful beast, when I don't even have any mana or whatsoever, doesn't that make me a dead man already." Gilgamesh sighed and sat down then told sliver to sit down let him explain everything for him.
