Chapter 10 - Chapter 9

Sunghoon feels awkward sitting at the same table as the most popular students. Being with them at a restaurant that is close to Inhon is a strange feeling. Before, it was somehow different when he spent time only with Somi or even Sullyoon.

He feels like he doesn't fit in here at all, not in this group, especially since Niki is sitting with them. The older boy keeps giving him looks, telling him to get lost and leave them alone — once and for all.

"Wonyoung will be joining us shortly," Yuna announces, placing her phone on the counter. They sit at the largest table, drawing the attention of the college and high school students who also eat there after classes.

Sunghoon feels a warm feeling flow through his body as Yuna mentions her sister. He is no doubt excited that she will be here any minute now.

This is his chance to get closer to her and discover the truth... the past that connects them.

-Jake oppa. - Everyone looks with surprise at the high school girl who approaches their table and, combing her hair behind her ear, looks at the object of her affections with a fascinated gaze. - Any chance you can give me your phone number?

Somi glares at her but doesn't say a word. She clears her throat, nervously playing with the spoon in her hand.

"How old are you, kid, that you want his number?" Yuna raises an eyebrow, looking at her up and down. She doesn't even realize that she looks like a jealous girl right now.

Jake looks at his friend with a surprised look, feeling that things are getting more awkward between them with each passing moment.

- Sixteen - replies the teenager girl, smiling shyly.

"Dude, I hope you're not a pervert," Niki mutters under his breath, rolling his eyes.

"It's nice of you to want my number, but I only talk to girls who are of age," Jake tells her . "Sorry, you're too young for me to be interested in you."

The hurt sixteen-year-old girl shifts her gaze to Sullyoon.

- She's still underage, but are you still friends with her or not, oppa?

Everyone is speechless. They look at the high school girl as if she fell from the moon.

- It's a different situation because I've known Sullyoon for many years.

- Kid, why do you even call him oppa? - Somi can't take it anymore and attacks her. She looks at the sixteen-year-old girl with a reproachful look. - You only know him by sight. To you, he's a sunbaenim.

Jake's eyes widen with excitement as the blonde comes to his defense.

- She should probably call him ahjussi. - Niki sips juice, looking out the window. He's amused by the whole situation, although he doesn't show it.

"I'm sorry," the high school girl suddenly states. The sharp voice, as well as Somi's hostile gaze, make the teenager cringe internally. "I shouldn't have. I'm so sorry for my behavior."

- Then get out of here. - The blonde girl waves her hand, telling her to go away. - And don't ever go near him again, kid, or he'll be accused of sleeping with minors.

Stressed, Jake drinks a glass of Pepsi, feeling more thirsty than usual.

Playboy's charms - Yuna says sarcastically, throwing rice at him. - Stop seducing all the surrounding girls. Even baby born are into you.

Wonyoung enters the restaurant . A smile spreads across her face when she notices that Sunghoon is among her friends .

"Did I miss something?" she asks, looking at their confused faces.

- The little girl was hitting on Jake - Niki replies . - Luckily, our friend is not a pervert and does not have a thing for girls.

Sunghoon smiles at Wonyoung, who looks even happier. Somi watches them for a long moment, wondering about the words she heard from the mouth of the man who kidnapped her.

Were they really reborn to love each other again? Is this their destiny?

- Wonyoung, can we have a word? - she addresses the brunette girl directly. - It's important.

A nineteen-year-old girl is surprised that her former friend wants to talk to her about something in private.

- All right.

- Could you at least give her something to eat? - Niki mutters, worried that his friend is hungry.

The girls walk out in front of the restaurant, and the rest of the company looks at them with curiosity in their eyes.

- Do you think they're talking about Sunghoon? I think they're both into him. - Yuna always says what she thinks. She's not even bothered by the presence of the man she mentioned. - It's impossible not to notice - she adds, then focuses entirely on the younger guy sitting next to her. - Isn't that right? Confirm that I'm telling the truth.

Sunghoon is confused as everyone's eyes focus on him.

- Me and Somi are just friends.

- So that's my sister! - Yuna claps her hands. - They went to sort it out.

Niki sarcastically remarks to her .

"You're just jealous because there's someone my sister has her eye on. Sorry, man, but that'll never be you. She's made me realize she only sees you as a brother."

"I could say the same about you and Jake ," he snaps back. "I can see your eyes lighting up when you see him. You can forget..."

Luckily, the boy is deep in thought, looking out the window at Somi. He doesn't hear his friends arguing, but Yuna glares at Niki .

- One more word, you bastard, and I'll throw you to my aggressive dogs.

Sullyoon looks at Niki with sad eyes, then shifts her gaze to Sunghoon. She notices that her peer is confused by the argument between the two friends. His expression gradually begins to amuse her.

- Those dogs of yours are as hopeless as you are. They bark their asses off, just like you.

- At this point, you're also insulting Sullyoon and Wonyoung . They're our family dogs.

- I wouldn't say... they've completely taken on a resemblance to you. They're just as crazy as you are. They bark when they shouldn't.

Sunghoon raises an eyebrow.

- They also bite when they shouldn't, literally like me - she replies and grabs his hand, which is placed on the counter. She bites the skin above the wrist with her teeth, and Niki's scream is heard throughout the restaurant .

 ***

The girls are sitting on a bench in front of a restaurant. Wonyoung is silent, waiting for her ex-friend to start a conversation, since she was the one who dragged her here to talk. She seems scared and doesn't know how to start the topic that's been bothering her.

- Listen... I'm in danger. I don't know what will happen to me after I tell you the truth, but I can't hurt you because of what we once had - says Somi, nervously glancing around. - I don't even know if we're not being watched and eavesdropped on by that monster right now.

- What monster?

The blonde girl takes a deep breath and finally looks Wonyoung in the eyes.

"Never mind me, but you and Sunghoon are in greater danger," she says, taking her hand. "You may think I'm crazy, that I'm crazy, but I swear to you, on my way back from the party, I was kidnapped by a vampire."

The brunette girl looks at her at this point as if she were an alien. Suddenly, she bursts into loud laughter, unable to accept that Somi is serious.

- Wait... you were kidnapped by the bloodsucker from the books?

- Stop making fun of me, idiot, because I'm trying to warn you. I'm not joking. I'm serious. Furthermore, I was kidnapped by a vampire who orders me to separate you and Sunghoon because you're bound by fate. You have feelings for him, right?

Wonyoung's cheeks redden with embarrassment, but she quickly changes the subject.

"If he kidnapped you, why didn't he bite you?" She looks at her neck. "Are you still drunk? Haven't you sobered up since Saturday?"

- Holy shit! - The blonde girl has no patience anymore. - I'm telling you, after he dropped off drunk Yuna and Jake in front of his house, he kidnapped me in a taxi to his place. Short images of memories come back to me, I'm sure he got rid of them in the taxi.

- Don't drink anymore, Somi - Wonyoung declares, getting up from the bench. - Alcohol is bad for you.

- He knows about our past... and he named you Inha. He told me that was your name from your previous life.

The nineteen-year-old girl stands there as if electrocuted.

- What did he look like, Somi? - she asks, looking over her shoulder. - Describe every detail to me.

- He was very handsome, almost too handsome for a human being. He had short black hair, pale, almost white skin that looked like porcelain and...

- ... scary eyes - adds Wonyoung. She approaches her former friend and grabs her hand with emotion. - Tell me everything you found out from him.

- I'm telling you, you and Sunghoon are in danger. He called you enemies. He clearly wants to hurt you, to take revenge for his previous life - says Somi, noticing that Wonyoung has turned pale. - He threatened me too. He said that even father won't help me because he'll eat me before I call for help. I'm putting myself in danger by telling you the truth, because he told me to separate you.

- This is all very strange, because ever since I met Sunghoon, I've been seeing our past lives in my dreams. - Somi is the first person to find out about this. Wonyoung wouldn't have expected them to talk to each other again, especially not about another secret connecting them.

- Do you dream about your past life?

- But the worst thing is that this strange guy has been stalking Sullyoon for some time now. If he wants revenge on me and Sunghoon, why is he tormenting my sister?

Somi puts her fingers to her lips as if thinking about something.

- Do you see anyone else besides yourself and Sunghoon in these dreams?

- There's also Niki and Jake ...

- So your little sister might also be part of your past life.

- But is it possible that vampires live in the real world? It all sounds like fiction in a book. Then there's reincarnation... and dreams in which I see my past life!

- I think you'll have to figure it out pretty quickly, and at that point, help me too, since I've told you the truth. He'll kill me.

The girls look at each other intensely, both terrified by what they have learned from each other.
