Nelly
I walked out of my room and headed toward the kitchen. I had been ignoring my hunger and thirst for a while now, making sure all the employees had finally left before coming out.
I yawned, exhaustion settling deep in my bones. Today had been long—I barely got to spend time with Danielle. She wasn't even home. Instead, I sat in silence with a worn-out doctor friend, and even Liam had been absent.
I was ready to sleep after this—if only I wasn't so hungry. Then, I thought about Aiden. Had anyone served him dinner? my eyes found the clock and definitely they have.
I pulled open the fridge and grabbed a cold bottle of water. Just as I poured myself a glass and shut the fridge door, my eyes locked onto hers.
Rose.
She was standing in the dimly lit kitchen, her sharp gaze pinned on me like she had been waiting.
My grip on the mug nearly slipped. "What the hell—how long have you been standing there?"
