Jayden pushed forward through the dense jungle, his body screaming in protest after yet another grueling battle. His new abilities had made him stronger, but survival was still a brutal struggle. Just minutes ago, he had barely escaped an ambush by a pack of shadow leopards, using every last ounce of his stamina to fight them off. Now, drained and running on pure stubbornness, he trudged through the undergrowth, wiping sweat from his brow.
Then—he heard it.
The unmistakable sounds of battle.
A thunderous explosion shook the air, followed by a deafening roar that sent birds scattering from the treetops. Curious—and half-expecting another deadly encounter.
He climbed onto a high tree branch, his breath caught in his throat.
In the clearing below, chaos unfolded.
Five fire gorillas—towering beasts covered in molten cracks, their bodies radiating intense heat—were locked in combat. But the strangest part? They weren't fighting each other.
They were being slaughtered.
By one guy.
The moment Jayden laid eyes on the figure, he knew—this wasn't a normal human.
The stranger moved like a storm given human form, clad in a black-and-red battle robe that rippled despite the stillness of the air. His long black hair whipped through the wind as if alive, flickering in and out of sight like a mirage. Lightning crackled at his fingertips, weaving seamlessly into the roaring flames that danced around him.
Jayden's two-tomoe Sharingan spun instinctively, trying to track his movements—but even with his enhanced vision, the man was almost too fast to follow. One moment, he was standing still. The next, he blurred out of existence, reappearing mid-air as he drove a crackling fist straight into a gorilla's skull. The beast's molten eyes flickered, and then—BOOM—it was sent hurtling across the clearing, crashing through a boulder like it was made of paper.
Another gorilla lunged, swinging a massive, burning fist. But the stranger barely reacted—he simply sidestepped, dragging his fingers through the air as arcs of lightning followed his movement. With a flick of his wrist, a spear of electricity shot forward, piercing the beast's chest. It convulsed violently before crumpling to the ground.
Jayden watched, equal parts awe-struck and horrified.
This wasn't just strength. This was domination.
The battle continued, each second more absurd than the last. The remaining gorillas roared in fury, their flames intensifying as they launched a combined attack, sending a wave of fire that melted the very ground beneath them.
Jayden tensed. That level of heat would incinerate anything caught in its path.
But the stranger merely smiled.
Then, in a blur of motion, he disappeared—only to reappear above them, spinning mid-air. Lightning and fire swirled together at his fingertips, forming a vortex of destruction. With a downward swing of his hand, a violent explosion erupted. The resulting shockwave sent a gust of hot wind tearing through the trees, nearly knocking Jayden from his perch.
When the dust settled, the battlefield was silent.
The fire gorillas were gone.
All that remained was the enigmatic figure, standing amidst the destruction, completely unharmed.
Jayden, still clinging to the tree branch, blinked.
"…Okay. What the actual hell did I just witness?"
Jayden barely had time to process what had just happened before a hand grabbed his collar—
And in the next blink, he was gone.
Wind roared in his ears, and suddenly, he was standing several meters away, his mind catching up to his body. His heart pounded as he turned, Sharingan spinning in alarm.
The stranger—that monster of a man—stood before him, his expression calm, but his sharp black eyes held amusement.
The man tilted his head. "What's a weakling at the peak of the Pink Plane doing in the Aurora Forest?"
Jayden, still processing the sheer absurdity of his situation, remained silent.
The stranger raised an eyebrow. "How did you survive here?" His gaze flicked to Jayden's tattered clothes, the dirt on his face, and the faint scorch marks from his last near-death experience.
Jayden's expression stayed deadpan.
The stranger's eye twitched.
For some reason, that irritated him.
VWOOM!
The man throw a swift punch
Jayden's Sharingan caught the motion—but even with his enhanced vision, his body barely reacted in time.
A fist was already flying toward his face.
"Holy sh—!"
Instinct screamed. His muscles tensed.
"RASENGAN!"
He thrust his palm forward.
BOOM!
Dust and shockwaves exploded outward, shaking the earth.
The sheer force of the impact sent Jayden skidding backward.
The stranger? He had only taken a single step back.
Jayden panted, hands trembling. That was it?!
A system message flashed in his vision.
[ Unable to issue quest. Opponent too strong. ]
Jayden's soul left his body.
"Oh, I am so screwed."
Meanwhile, the stranger chuckled.
"You're a brave one," he mused. "Weak, but brave."
Jayden clenched his jaw, forcing himself to stay composed, but inside, he was having a full-blown existential crisis.
The young man studied him with curiosity. His eyes flicked from Jayden's crimson Sharingan to the fading Rasengan in his hand.
His smirk widened.
"A Visionary and an Elementalist?" he mused. "That's extremely rare. No wonder you barely managed to evade my attack."
Jayden still said nothing.
Because what the hell was he supposed to say? 'Yeah, I was thrown into this world with no context and have been fighting for my life for weeks. Thanks for the friendly punch to the face, by the way.'
The man merely laughed. "I'll let you go." He turned away. "If you manage to survive and make it out of the forest alive, then join the Scarlet Faction."
Jayden blinked.
"Join the what now?"
The stranger started walking away, but Jayden quickly stepped forward.
"Wait." He frowned. "How do I get out of this damn forest?"
The young man turned, smiling.
"No."
Jayden's eye twitched.
What do you mean 'No'?! That's not a yes-or-no question!
Before Jayden could argue, the man's expression darkened slightly.
"This part of the forest belongs to the Fire Gorillas," he said, motioning to the burning jungle. "If you run into more than one, you're dead."
And just like that—
He vanished.
Jayden exhaled slowly, rubbing his face.
"...Why must the first human I meet in this world be a total maniac.
Jayden had been through hell.
He had fought through an army of rabid beasts. He had dodged death more times than he could count. He had almost been punched in the face by a lunatic with lightning and fire wrapped around his body.
And now, after what felt like an eternity of suffering—
He finally stumbled into a clearing.
His legs ached, his clothes were burnt, and his chakra reserves were hanging on by a thread. His stomach growled in protest, demanding real food for the first time in weeks.
But all of that didn't matter.
Because in the distance—
He saw it.
A city.
At first, his brain refused to process it.
Then, relief crashed over him like a tidal wave.
For weeks, he had been trapped in a jungle full of monsters, forced to fight for his survival.
Now, finally, there were people. Buildings. Safety.
For the first time since arriving in this world, he could breathe.
He had made it.
Or at least—that's what he thought.
Because the moment he stepped forward into the city—
Something latched onto his leg.
Jayden froze. His battle instincts flared, and his Sharingan snapped on immediately.
A beast? A hidden enemy? Another ridiculous encounter with death?
Slowly, he looked down.
It was a girl.
A tiny girl. No older than five.
She was shaking, clinging onto his leg like her life depended on it.
"…Huh?" Jayden blinked. "Uh, kid—?"
Before he could finish—
A thunderous voice boomed from above.
"So THAT is who sent you?"
Jayden's eyes snapped up—
Just in time to see a massive knife flying straight toward his head.
His mind went blank.
"...Oh, you've GOT to be KIDDING ME!"
The blade blurred closer.
Jayden's Sharingan spun wildly, calculating trajectories at lightning speed.
He had seconds to react.
No chakra. No time for a jutsu. No good options.
This is bad.
And right now?
He was completely out of good ideas.
